Goodison Park is a special place for so many people – and former Everton star Richarlison is no different.

We are now watching the final games being played out at Goodison Park with the club moving into the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock from next season.

Fans are desperately hoping that Everton will be able to enter the new stadium as a Premier League club, and David Moyes’ is the man tasked with preserving the club’s top-flight status.

The Scot secured his first win of his second spell in charge on Sunday against Tottenham Hotspur, sending Everton zone points clear of the relegation zone.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Iliman Ndiaye – who Jamie Carragher likened to Steven Pienaar – were on target for the hosts, and Archie Gray scored an own goal.

Spurs found two late goals to prompt a nervy finish, but Everton held on for three huge points.

Perhaps inevitably, Richarlison was one of the Spurs goalscorers, and after the game he made a very classy post on Instagram knowing it was his final game at Goodison.

Former Everton star Richarlison posts classy message about Goodison Park

Richarlison spent four years at Everton, and is, therefore, no stranger to what a wonderful place Goodison Park is.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

The Brazilian was firm favourite during his time on Merseyside, and often had all corners of Goodison singing his name.

It was very clear on Sunday that Goodison and Everton still hold a special place in his heart. Even before the game, Richarlison interacted with Everton fans in the Gwladys Street End, taking photos and signing autographs.

Then, after the game, Richarlison was seen walking around the pitch applauding the Everton fans, despite having just lost.

The show of affection didn’t end there, as Richarlison then took the social media.

He said on Instagram: “I feel very fulfilled for all the 83 times I’ve stepped onto this pitch. Where I played the most and scored the most goals in my entire career. Today, for the last time. Thank you, Goodison Park!”

Could Everton re-sign Richarlison?

It’s clear how much Goodison Park meant to Richarlison, but could the Brazilian make a return to Everton and perhaps make memories in the new stadium?

Everton fans recently urged The Friedkin Group to re-sign Richarlison after their takeover, and undoubtedly that would create a huge lift at the club.

Given his status as a cult hero during his time at Everton, many fans would love to see him back, especially with how he’s behaved since leaving.

In December it was reported Richarlison was willing to leave Tottenham and given the attacking issues Everton have had this season, you would not put it past TFG trying to bring him back.

They’ve already gone down the route of bringing Moyes back in the hope of instigating a turnaround, and Richarlison returning would certainly make many fans very happy.

Everton fans all agree on the Man of the Match vs Tottenham Hotspur – it’s not Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Everton finally got themselves back into the win column on Sunday afternoon as they beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-2.

David Moyes secured his first win back at Everton after his side raced into a three-goal lead in the first half.

Despite their best efforts, Tottenham couldn’t overturn the deficit in the second period and now reside just four points above the Toffees in the Premier League.

The Merseysiders have put four points between them and 18th-placed Ipswich Town, so they finally have some breathing room.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin was particularly impressive and deservedly earned most of the plaudits but these Everton fans believe there was another player who perhaps should’ve won the Man of the Match award instead.

Everton fans think Jesper Lindstrom was Man of the Match

Sky Sports awarded Calvert-Lewin the Man of the Match award but many Everton fans took to X and said Jesper Lindstrom was the best player on the pitch.

“Lindstrom man of the match, every single player outstanding, Moyes got the players fighting for the badge again, love it,” @RCGT4_ posted.

@mickmcSNB said: “I’d probably give Lindstrom man of the match there thought he was excellent but some good performances out there today.”

MORE EVERTON STORIES

“Lindstrom best player on the pitch been brilliant today and looks like he’s enjoying himself,” @AnthonyM91 added.

@third_I1878 commented: “I thought Lindstrom was brilliant today, worked hard,a good effort on goal and his set pieces were good too. A bit sloppy before he was subbed but probably fatigued, his best game for us by far.”

“Should of been about 5-0 that but take the 3 points Lindstrom MOTM,” @garygriffoefc posted.

@Barry1878 simply said: “Lindstrom was superb btw.”

David Moyes has admired Lindstrom for years

Moyes has tracked Lindstrom for years, dating back to his days in the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt.

When he took over at Everton, one of his first port of calls was to give Lindstrom much more playing time and he indeed started him today.

That decision certainly paid off and now, like Calvert-Lewin, it’s all about using this as momentum and really kicking on.

It’s understood Lindstrom is happy in Merseyside, so he’ll be keen to prove his worth enough for the £19m buy option to be activated.

Richarlison’s chances of making Everton return after Tottenham injury update

Everton host Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday at Goodison Park in David Moyes’ second game in charge.

There could be a familiar face making his return to Merseyside with Richarlison playing for the visitors.

However, it has been another torrid season for the Brazilian who has suffered a number of serious injuries.

Much like Spurs, Everton are looking to sign some attacking players before the window shuts.

Moyes will see Sunday’s game as a big opportunity to get his hands on three points with neither side showing any real form.

Richarlison tore Everton apart last season, but there may be questions over his fitness going into the meeting on Sunday.

Richarlison expected to play against Everton

Since the Friedkins arrived on Merseyside, some Everton fans have called for Richarlison to be re-signed this month.

The forward’s time in north London has been pretty miserable with injuries playing a major role in his lack of football.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

But speaking to the media on Friday, Ange Postecoglou admitted his Brazilian forward is in line to play against Everton.

We’ve tried different ways, and Richy is trying different ways,” said Postecoglou.

“We’ve been really careful in the way we’ve brought him back this time. He’s probably been ready to go for a couple of weeks. We’ve given him extra work. I thought he was really good when he came on the other night, you could see his quality.

“He’ll certainly play a part in the Everton game. Hopefully get him some more minutes than the other night, because if we can keep him fit, I’ve got no doubt he’ll be a really important player for us. I’ve got no doubt about that.”

Postecoglou has praised Everton’s appointment of Moyes as he shared a previous interaction between the pair.

Neither manager will let their friendship get in the way on Sunday with both sides in dire need of putting three points on the board.

Richarlison scored twice at Goodison Park last season

After leaving for north London, Richarlison has retained a great relationship with Everton and the fans.

However, the Toffees were not keen to see his return last season as he netted twice at Goodison.

The Brazilian was on a run of real fine form at the time, and again, injury curtailed his season.

“I know you mentioned the Everton game [the 2-2 draw when Richarlison scored twice last season], but when he played last year, that run of games, he was really good for us,” added Postecoglou.

Having played a cameo role on Wednesday for Spurs in their North London Derby, it would seem unlikely Richarlison returns straight into the starting XI.

One thing which is for sure, is that he will receive a warm welcome by the home fans.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou hails ‘fantastic’ decision The Friedkin Group have already made at Everton

Everton take on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday in a game between two of the Premier League’s struggling sides.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are landing on Merseyside sitting just seven points ahead of Everton in the table.

Both sides have suffered considerably through injury issues this season with Armando Broja Everton’s latest injury woe.

Three points for the Toffees would ensure they do not drop into the relegation zone this weekend and close the gap to Spurs to just four points.

Although neither side are where they would like to be in the table, the Spurs boss has approved one decision which The Friedkin Group have made.

What Ange Postecoglou said about Everton’s David Moyes appointment

David Moyes has been embarrassed by Everton’s downfall over recent years having returned to a bit of a mess on Merseyside.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

Moyes’ first game back at Goodison Park ended in defeat, but the Toffees have a huge opportunity to take three points on Sunday.

Speaking in his press conference from north London, Postecoglou waxed lyrical about Moyes and his return to the Premier League.

“No not surprised, he showed at West Ham he is still at the top of his game and is a fantastic manager,” said the Australian.

“I think longevity is a measure of your capabilities particularly when you think of how long he has managed in the Premier League itself and he has made an impact at the clubs he has been at.

“I’m delighted to see him back because it means I’m not the oldest in the Premier League anymore. If we can get Roy (Hodgson) off a beach somewhere I will be even happier. Glad to have him back.

“He’s a top guy too. I remember he reached out to me when I was at Celtic a couple of years ago. Top guy David and great to have him back.”

It may not have been the start the 60-year-old would have wished for, but Moyes has been impressed with Everton youngster Harrison Armstrong in training.

Although there’s a lot of work needing to be done, it seems Moyes has the backing of those across the league to turn things around at Everton.

Tottenham are arriving at Goodison Park with major injuries

Everton need to put their recent issues behind them on Sunday and get up and running under Moyes.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s miss against Aston Villa was all that separated the Toffees and a result on Wednesday night.

A big opportunity is on the line for Everton on Sunday, with Spurs entering the game missing all of these key players:

Moyes is demanding new signings for Everton, but the focus now must be on beating a depleted Tottenham side on Sunday.

Although Spurs may not quite be the side they have been over recent years, a win against one of the big six could be the boost Everton need to kickstart their season.

Everton looking to spoil Tottenham’s plans by signing ‘baller’ in bargain deal

Everton have their new owners at the perfect time as the January transfer window has now arrived.

Sean Dyche appeared to have turned things around on Merseyside in December, but just as things were looking good a loss to Nottingham Forest has reset the mood.

Everton find themselves just three points above the relegation zone at present, which has raised fears from fans about their side’s Premier League future.

The Friedkin Group have basically said that unless things change massively in a bad way then Dyche will remain in charge at Everton, as the only aim is to avoid relegation.

Interestingly, it appears as if the club have already started looking at potential January transfer window additions, as a midfielder is on the radar for January.

Everton looking to sign Maxence Caqueret in bargain deal

Maxence Caqueret currently plays his football at Orel Mangala’s parent club Lyon.

He’s a central midfielder with 14 appearances to his name in the current campaign for the French side, and their financial situation may just help the Toffees.

According to Give Me Sport, Everton are also eager to discover whether Lyon are prepared to negotiate a deal for a bargain fee for the Under-21 ‘baller’.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

However, they’re not the only ones interested as Tottenham have plans to sign him, whilst West Ham United and Crystal Palace are also keeping an eye on the situation.

Do Everton need a central midfielder?

There’s no doubting the potential of Caqueret as one of the most promising youngsters in Ligue 1 right now, but it’s not exactly a position of desperation.

James Garner, Tim Iroegbunam, Orel Mangala, Idrissa Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucoure are already at the club, though Gueye’s contract is up at the end of the season.

Mangala has been superb at Everton, but even his future isn’t certain as he’s set to return to Lyon.

Everton are calling out for a more creative midfielder who can really help lay chances on a plate for the strikers, as they’ve been starved at times.

Everton eyeing Tottenham Hotspur consultant who has major advantage over Dan Ashworth

With the January transfer window approaching, there is a big possibility there may be some serious changes at Everton over the coming weeks.

New owners provide a new lease of life into any football club and Everton are going to be no different.

The Friedkin Group have Premier League approval to secure their Everton takeover, which is expected to be completed next week.

However, there are going to be some serious questions asked over the security of some of the staff currently at the club.

Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell are both expected to be sacked in the New Year as the Friedkins start their transformation of the club.

And there is already one man who is being eyed by the prospective new owners on Merseyside.

The Friedkin Group eyeing Fabio Paratici for Everton

Everton News understands the Friedkins are interested in Dan Ashworth following his departure from Manchester United.

But there is another name in the mix with Team Talk claiming Fabio Paratici is emerging as a candidate at Goodison.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

It has been claimed the Italian chief is currently very highly appreciated by those involved with Everton.

Paratici is nearing the end of his 30-month ban from football following the charges after his time as the Juventus director of football.

Despite this, he’s still working as a consultant for Tottenham Hotspur.

Everton fans have demanded Ashworth to be hired, but Paratici could certainly prove an interesting alternative with solid Premier League experience.

Fabio Paratici holds big advantage over Dan Ashworth

In the report, it is suggested Everton are keen on the Italian due to his ability to pick out exciting young talents.

However, Team Talk have also claimed those at Manchester United were not left overly impressed by Ashworth’s recruitment in his brief time at Old Trafford.

Paratici was the man to take Richarlison from Everton to Spurs, and it is now believed that Richarlison could be open to leaving Tottenham.

Bringing the Brazilian back to Goodison would certainly be one way for Paratici to enamour himself with the fans as the new director of football.

The chances of Richarlison making a sensational Everton return as he makes big U-turn

Everton are set to see some serious changes made over the coming months on Merseyside.

Sean Dyche will be hoping he is not one of the changes at Goodison Park, with the Toffees not exactly lighting the league up this season.

The Friedkin Group are close to taking over at Everton with the keys for Goodison expected to be handed over by the end of the month.

But the proposed new owners will be arriving with a real task on their hands as Everton sit in 15th spot of the Premier League.

The January transfer market is quickly approaching and it will provide the Friedkins with an opportunity to provide Dyche with some more players to bolster his squad.

And there may have just been a change in Richarlion’s future at Tottenham Hotspur following months of speculation.

Former Everton player Richarlison open to leaving Tottenham

Richarlison has a great relationship with Everton fans following his time on Merseyside, but he has struggled since leaving.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Richarlison has now decided that he would be open to leaving Tottenham.

“The situation with Richarlison, the player was absolutely adamant last summer that he wanted to fight for his place at Spurs and we were all pleased to see him happy, most of us wanted it to work at Spurs, and Richarlison to be that £60m player and thrive,” said Jacobs.

“But now, I’m told the player has changed his mind in the last few months and he’s willing to leave Spurs in 2025.”

Everton fans still have a lot of love for Richarlison, who could soon be looking for a new club with his time in north London being a real disappointment.

After making the £60m move to Spurs, Richarlison has undergone surgery and missed over a full season’s worth of games through injuries.

The Friedkin’s could please Everton fans with Richarlison transfer

One way which the Friedkins could really enamour themselves among Everton fans could well be through bringing Richarlison back to Merseyside.

The Brazilian enjoyed his best club moments in an Everton shirt and Richarlison often sends Everton messages over social media.

It would be a risk considering Richarlison has struggled at Spurs and cost the Lilywhites significant money.

However, Richarlison is undoubtedly a cult hero at Goodison and bringing him back to Everton would surely boost the morale among Everton fans.

But Daniel Levy is unlikely to be willing to lose out on a significant amount of money and will potentially demand a considerable fee for the Brazilian striker.

The Friedkin Group may get the chance to please Everton fans as Richarlison transfer claim is made

Everton and Richarlison will always have a soft spot for each other after spending just under four years together.

Richarlison joined Everton for around £40 million back in 2018 from Watford.

The Toffees got more than their money’s worth as the Brazilian made 152 appearances in the blue shirt, scoring 53 goals and assisting 12.

However, his fine form saw Tottenham Hotspur come calling, and they ended up splashing a whopping £60 million on the attacker in 2022.

Despite leaving Everton, it’s clear that Richarlison still has a lot of love for Everton, as he even responded to a post about Goodison Park earlier on this year.

Interestingly, it appears as if the Brazilian could be up for sale in 2025, so could this bring about a potential reunion at the new stadium?

Richarlison set to be made available for transfer in 2025

Richarlison has had a torrid time of things at Tottenham Hotspur on the injury front, with Everton fans even claiming he ruined his career for their own good.

The attacker is currently set to be out for a significant amount of time after picking up a hamstring injury against Aston Villa earlier on this season.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

It’s unknown when he’ll return from injury, but it appears as if his future at Tottenham is far from certain.

According to Athletic, Richarlison will still have two years left on his contract this summer, and if he can regain fitness over the second half of this season, it would not be a surprise to see him back on the market again later in 2025.

Could a return for Richarlison be on the cards?

A move for Richarlison would seem very unlikely at this stage, but you can never say never.

Everton are supposedly interested in Arthur Melo, who has been injury prone himself, playing only one game at rivals Liverpool during his loan spell.

The Friedkin Group are likely to keep their powder dry in January, with the opportunity to really invest into making a successful side in the summer.

A new stadium is a big attraction for most players, though that won’t matter to Richarlison as he already loved Goodison Park.

It would be a risky move to bring Richarlison back to Everton given his injury record, so it may very much depend on the kind of fee Tottenham would ask for.

However, he knows the club and exactly how to find the back of the net, which is a massive problem for the Toffees at this moment in time.

Everton lack that real fiery character who can take games by the scruff of the neck and win games single-handedly, and that’s exactly what Richarlison did.

Alan Myers (as per Goodison News) spoke on it back in the summer, stating.

“Nothing in football really surprises me anymore but I would be if that happened”.

Arguably, Richarlison has gone down in value since then due to a lack of football and injuries, but as we’ve said, this is a potential long-shot move that would depend on many factors being right.

Jose Mourinho and Everton in new rumour – but this time it’s for a transfer

Description

This summer will see a huge revolution occur at Everton, for more than one reason.

Chiefly, the new takeover will spearhead this, but with a whole host of contracts coming to an end as well, it represents a fine opportunity to usher in a new era with an overhaul.

However, not all who are due to leave will be welcomed by those within the club.

Some, frustratingly, may take things out of Everton’s hands though.

Jose Mourinho wants Dominic Calvert-Lewin

The latest on the future of Dominic Calvert-Lewin comes courtesy of Fotomac, who suggest that Turkish side Fenerbahce have identified the striker as a ‘primary’ target for January.

It is stated within the report: ‘Fenerbahçe, which could not get the efficiency they expected from En-Nesyri and Cenk Tosun, thinks that Dzeko will not be able to support the team in three competitions due to his age.

‘The yellow-navy blues, who aim to win the championship in all three cups with coach Jose Mourinho, are starting an operation to strengthen the hand of the Portuguese coach.

‘It turns out that the primary goal was to give the team a centre forward, and a plan was made. One target, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, whose contract with Everton will expire.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

‘It was claimed that the 27-year-old English striker, who did not receive the offer he expected from the Merseyside team, is ready for a new adventure and could leave the team in January.

‘It has been learned that Fenerbahçe will press the button on the transfer if the approval is received from Jose Mourinho and will push the conditions for Calvert-Lewin.’

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has already rejected one Everton contract this year, with his future remaining cloudy.

Dan Friedkin should offer Dominic Calvert-Lewin new Everton contract

If Dan Friedkin wants to make a big statement before the summer, and one that will be far safer than any huge January acquisition, he should hand the striker a new deal with urgency.

After all, he is quite comfortably the best striker at the club, and the team suffers dramatically in his absence.

Beto, despite his £25m price tag, is yet to live up to such a lofty figure, and lacks the general link-up play to ever really threaten Calvert-Lewin’s starting spot in the side.

And although the 27-year-old has suffered from a loss of fitness and form in recent years, at his very best we all know how clinical he can be.

What Kevin Thelwell has said about Everton and Tottenham Hotspur’s latest talks over Dele Alli

Everton and Tottenham Hotspur remain in discussions about what is going to happen with the future of Dele Alli.

The former England midfielder has now not played a Premier League game since August 2022 as he now looks to make his return from injury.

After arriving back to Goodison Park from his loan stint with Besiktas, Dele has been eyeing his next opportunity in the Premier League with Everton.

However, his contract ran out at the end of last season and he remains training with the Toffees at Finch Farm.

Everton signed Dele from Tottenham Hotspur on a free but there were specific add-on clauses in that contract.

And for Dele to feature again for Everton, it would potentially require the Blues to put their hand in their wallet and send over some money to Tottenham.

Everton and Tottenham continue Dele talks

Dele’s career has undoubtedly stalled over the last couple of years with the midfielder working on himself away from the pitch.

The former Spurs playmaker Dele has even been spotted training with Everton at Goodison Park over the summer.

MORE EVERTON STORIES

But he does not seem to be any closer to making a return to the action on the pitch as talks remain ongoing.

Speaking to BBC Sounds, Everton’s sporting director Kevin Thelwell has admitted talks with Spurs are going well to find a resolution over the specifics of their deal for Dele.

“We are in a good space now with Tottenham, we have an agreement with those guys about what happens next if we sign him,” he said.

“And he would dearly love to play for Everton in the Premier League and we would dearly love that to happen as well because the boy has had a very difficult time.”

Dele could make himself an Everton hero

With the way in which Everton have started their 2024/25 campaign, the fans are looking for some inspiration on the pitch.

There have been some positive signs in the games against Bournemouth and Aston Villa but the Toffees, ultimately, came undone.

Perhaps Dele is a player who could eventually come into the side and provide something fresh to get the fans off their seats.

However, considering how long he has been out of the game, that would be a huge ask and the two clubs still need to reach an agreement.
