Tottenham Hotspur could have two new defenders in their ranks when they face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final.

Spurs hold a 1-0 aggregate lead heading into the second leg at Anfield on Thursday night. And having come under pressure, Ange Postecoglou’s side got a much-needed Premier League win under their belt as they beat Brentford 2-0 yesterday.

Potential double deal

Tottenham hadn’t won in the top flight in their previous seven top-flight games, with head coach Postecoglou coming under pressure. Spurs have been hampered by injury issues, especially in defence, but have made one addition before tonight’s 11pm GMT deadline. Kevin Danso has arrived on loan from French side Lens. Meanwhile, Chelsea have reportedly agreed to loan Axel Disasi to their London rivals, but the centre-back has already agreed terms with Aston Villa.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano posted on X: “Tottenham have agreed loan deal with Chelsea for Axel Disasi, no buy option clause and loan fee included. Axel Disasi, not accepting Spurs bid… as he already agreed terms with Aston Villa. Chelsea have NO intention to negotiate with Villa as UCL spot competitors.”

On the arrival of Danso, Postecoglou said: “Great to get Kevin in. We desperately need a defender, but getting him is great because he's a great fit for us. He's had a strong career, but he's at an age now where he really wants to kick on. He's got all the attributes we look for, he's really strong one-on-one, he's quick, he's dynamic, he wants to play on the ball, so, and like I said he's just at a stage of his career where he's really determined to kick on now and make an impact. So really pleased, I think it'll be a lift for the whole group.”

Van de Ven latest

Ahead of the Liverpool clash, Tottenham took no risks and did not involve Micky van de Ven against Brentford. The key defender has only recently recovered from a hamstring issue, having made his return in a 3-0 win over Elfsborg in the Europa League.

Postecoglou is hoping that more training will ensure that Van de Ven is primed to face Arne Slot’s Premier League leaders, with a place at Wembley at stake. The Australian said at his post-match press conference: “The plan was maybe to play him 45 again today. But then we had a think about it, spoke to Micky as well. And I thought, I'd rather he has another full week of training, get ready for Thursday night, that's a big game for us as well.

“We had Djed [Spence] back today, which gave me some comfort that we could cover him. He was never going to play more than 45 minutes today. I just felt, after discussing it with the medical team and with Micky as well, as desperate as he is to play, I just think we've got to be really smart about how we integrate him back into the team. And obviously Thursday night's a big game for us. And again, having a week of training, hopefully we'll get him ready for that.”

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that they’ll be without another key player for their Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool.

Spurs will travel to Anfield on Thursday 2 February holding a 1-0 aggregate lead from the opening encounter in North London earlier this month. Ange Postecoglou’s side have had their struggles lately and a 3-2 loss at Everton last weekend left them 15th in the Premier League. Liverpool, on the other hand, are six points clear at the summit of the table

Injuries have taken their toll on Tottenham. Last night, they battled to a 3-2 Europa League win over Hoffenheim. They were again without Dominic Solanke, a £65 million signing from AFC Bournemouth in the summer transfer window. The former Liverpool striker sustained a knee issue in training last week - and he is set to spent around six weeks on the treatment table, which means he cannot feature against Liverpool.

Head coach Postecoglou said: “With Dom, the information now is that we are looking at around the six-week mark. No surgery. Maybe we can get him back a little bit earlier, just see how he progresses. But at this stage it’s saying around six weeks.”

Tottenham did welcome back Rodrigo Bentancur against Hoffenheim after he suffered a concussion in the early stages of the Liverpool semi-final first-leg encounter. But, as things stand, 10 Spurs players are absent with injury.

Midfield duo Yves Bissouma and Pape Sarr have minor issues. Meanwhile, key centre-back Cristian Romero has returned to training from a hamstring issue but needs to time regain fitness. Romero could be back against Liverpool but fellow defender Micky van de Ven (hamstring) may face a race against time.

Tottenham are set to definitely be without Solanke, No.1 goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, first-choice left-back Destiny Udogie, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner and Wilson Odobert when they face the Reds in under two weeks’ time.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have two players unavailable in Diogo Jota (muscle) and Joe Gomez (hamstring). However, Curtis Jones was forced off at half-time in the 2-1 win over Lille in the Champions League earlier this week. Head coach Arne Slot will provide an update on Jones ahead of the Premier League encounter against Ipswich Town tomorrow.

Ange Postecoglou has admitted that Tottenham Hotspur have more injury woes ahead of their Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Liverpool.

The Reds will welcome Spurs to Anfield on Thursday 6 February aiming to overturn a 1-0 loss from the first leg in North London earlier this month.

Tottenham have been on a woeful run of form and haven't won in their past five Premier League games. Yesterday, they suffered a 3-2 loss at the hands of Everton, which leaves Spurs 15th in the table. As a result, pressure has piled on head coach Ange Postecoglou although injuries have played their part.

Against Everton, Tottenham were missing centre-back duo Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero, first-choice left-back Destiny Udogie, No.1 goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, Rodrigo Bentancur and Wilson Odobert.

In addition, Yves Bissouma, Brennan Johnson and Dominic Solanke were new absentees. Postecoglou has admitted Johnson, a £47.5 million signing from Nottingham Forest in August 2023 will spend 3-4 weeks on the sidelines and, therefore, will be ruled out against Liverpool. Bissoum’s issue is not thought to be serious. The Australian said: “It's probably three or four weeks, he did it in the second half against Arsenal the other night. So yeah, we're looking at three to four weeks."

In addition, Solanke has a knee problem that was sustained while taking a shot in training and will be absent for a 'couple of weeks, which means he will be doubtful to face Liverpool. The former Reds striker joined Tottenham from Bournemouth last summer for a fee that could reach £65 million.

Postecoglou added: "It's a pretty extreme situation, we've lost three players, significant players since, the last game and we've already got seven or eight out. Obviously, we lost Dom really late yesterday in training, something innocuous, so it's just the run we're on at the moment, the situation we're in. At some point that will change, we'll get some players back, but right now it's just the situation we're dealt and the responsibility lies squarely with me to try to get us out of it.

"Not totally, I mean it was just one of these things and he just sort of went to shoot on his own and twisted it, so we don't think it's serious, but probably a few weeks at this stage from what I've heard."

However, Postecoglou insists that his Tottenham players still have plenty to be motivated for - as he namechecked the Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool as one of them. He said: “We are still in four competitions this season. We are in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup, we have a couple of big European games coming up, still in the FA Cup, obviously our league position is not great to say the least. We need to improve that and eventually our players will come back. It is a significant talent that will come back. It is not like this is what it is, there is motivation to get through this so that when we do get our players back we can get something significant out of our season.”

David Moyes earned his first victory since returning as Everton manager as Tottenham Hotspur were defeated 3-2 at Goodison Park.

The Toffees scored all three goals in the first half, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin bagging his first since September, Iliman Ndiaye netting and Spurs’ Archie Gray turning into his own net. It was a much-needed and deserved triumph for Everton, who edged four points clear of the Premier League relegation zone. There was a nervy finish, with Spurs scoring twice in the final stages but the Blues held on for their first league win since 4 December.

Everton mustered the first chance on goal when Jesper Lindstrom’s 20-yard effort was well saved by Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky. But the Toffees had the breakthrough six minutes later, with Calvert-Lewin ending his barren streak. He was fed in by Idrissa Gana Gueye and showed close control before keeping his composure to finish.

Spurs did threaten to equalise, with James Tarkowski making a fine last-ditch tackle on Son Heung-Min before the visiting captain had a shot saved by Everton keeper Jordan Pickford.

Moyes’ troops started to get on top again as Orel Mangala forced a decent save out of Kinsky. And on the half-hour mark, the lead was doubled when Ndiaye played a neat one-two with Gueye and drove into the box before rifling into the top corner.

Everton then had their third in the seventh minute of stoppage-time. James Tarkowski headed back across goal and the ball was helped on by Calvert-Lewin, with Archie Gray inadvertently turning into his own net.

There was unsurprisingly less goalmouth action in the second period but Everton still had the better of things. In the 61st minute, Vitalii Mykolenko crashed off the bar. Then from the subsequent Spurs goal-kick, Linstrom pilfered possession and fed Calvert-Lewin although his effort went just wide of the far post.

With 13 minutes remaining, Tottenham were given a glimmer of hope when Dejan Kulusevski took advantage of Pickford racing off his line and dinked into an unguarded net. That set up a nervy finish and Goodison became even more tense when ex-Blues favourite Richarlison tucked home from close range in added-time.

However, there was to be no more late drama, with Goodison euphoric when the final whistle went. It was a deserved three points, with the performance improving markedly. Here’s how we rated the Everton players.

Jordan Pickford - 6

Made two saves from Son in the first half, albeit both were fairly comfortable, but distribution was excellent. Didn’t have an awful lot to do in the second period but got caught out of position for Kulusevski’s goal.

Jake O’Brien - 7

Played a loose pass early on but was otherwise sound in the first half as he was asked to play right-back. Kept things tight defensively in the second period. Subbed in the 88th minute and performed well on his full Premier League debut.

James Tarkowski - 8

Produced an excellent sliding challenge to dispossess Son when he was about to pull the trigger and was faultless in the first half. Played his part in the third goal when heading back across goal. Continued to be imperious after the break winning everything that came his way.

Jarrad Branthwaite - 8

Solid throughout the opening period and one raking pass for Calvert-Lewin that beat the Spurs defence should have yielded more. Made one crucial sliding clearance in the second half and read the game really well in the closing stages as Spurs pressed forward.

Vitalii Mykolnko - 7

Defended his flank in the first half and got forward to support when he could. Probably should have done better with his second-half shot and started to get put under pressure defensively as Tottenham tried to find Kulusevski

Jesper Lindstrom - 8

Lively from the outset, testing Kinsky with an early effort and putting Spurs on the back foot when he could before his cross helped yield the third goal. Continued to be lively after the break and might well have had an assist but Calvert-Lewin couldn’t hit the target. Subbed in the 70th minute after having his best game since arriving on loan from Napoli.

Idrissa Gana Gueye - 9

Instrumental in both goals and popped up absolutely everywhere in the first half. Continued that way in the second period, picking the ball up and playing one-twos. Monstrous.

Orel Mangala - 7

Clever dummy in the build-up for the opening goal shouldn’t go under-rated and was efficient on the ball, while he had a decent effort saved. Battled away in the second period but was booked for a foul.

Iliman Ndiaye - 8

Didn’t see the ball as much as he’d have liked in the first half but produced the magic for Everton’s second goal with his trickery. Got at Spurs when he could after the break before being subbed in the 81st minute.

Abdoulaye Doucoure - 7

Pressed relentlessly in the first half and kept at it in the second period, although got away with one loose pass in the closing stages that could have given Everton problems.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin - 8

Conjured the finish every Evertonian knows he’s capable of the open the scoring. Such a handful in the first half but will rue he couldn’t do better when latching on to Branthwaite’s long ball. Unlucky not to have doubled his tally in the second period when shooting just wide but continued to offer a focal point.

Sub 1 - Ashley Young (replaced Lindstrom) - 6

Showed experience operating on both flanks but maybe should have got out quicker to shut down the cross for Richarlison’s goal.

Sub 2 - Nathan Patterson - N/A

Sub 3 - Michael Keane - N/A

Ange Postecoglou has admitted that Tottenham Hotspur have two fresh injury doubts for their trip to Everton.

David Moyes will take charge of his second game after returning as Toffees manager following a 1-0 defeat by Aston Villa earlier this week. It left Everton just a point above the Premier League relegation zone.

But Moyes is afforded another fixture at Goodison Park and will face a Tottenham side who are inconsistent. They suffered a 2-1 defeat by Arsenal in the North London derby, putting boss Ange Postecoglou under more pressure. Spurs are 14th in the table - some 14 points off the top four and have lost 11 times this season.

Tottenham will travel to Merseyside without several key players including first-choice centre-back duo Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero (both hamstring), No.1 goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario (foot), left-back Destiny Udogie (hamstring) and Rodrigo Bentancur (concussion).

And speaking at his pre-match press conference, Postecoglou confessed that Yves Bissouma and Brennan Johnson could also miss out. The Australian said: "There are a couple (of players) still sore from the midweek game. "We're just waiting on... Brennan (Johnson) has a bit of a calf complaint and Biss is a bit sore as well. So, we're just waiting to hear on them."

In addition, Wilson Odobert and Timo Werner (both hamstring) will remain absent for Tottenham, who earned a 4-0 victory over Everton when the two sides met in the reverse fixture in August. But Ben Davies is due to return for Spurs to boost their defensive options.

Moyes is tasked with ensuring that Everton avoid a relegation battle after taking over from Sean Dyche in the hot seat. The Scot, who spent 11 years as Blues managed between 2002-2013, is the oldest Premier League manager aged 61. But Postecoglou is not surprised to see Moyes back in the hot seat. He added: “No not surprised, he showed he is still at the top of his game and is a fantastic manager. I think longevity is a measure of your capabilities particularly when you think of how long he has managed in the Premier League itself and he has made an impact at the clubs he has been at.

“I’m delighted to see him back because it means I’m not the oldest in the Premier League anymore. If we can get Roy (Hodgson) off a beach somewhere I will be even happier. Glad to have him back. He’s a top guy too. I remember he reached out to me when I was at Celtic a couple of years ago. Top guy David and great to have him back.”

Everton are currently sat in 16th place in the Premier League. The Toffees have recently turned to David Moyes as their new manager.

They have brought back the 61-year-old following their decision to sack Sean Dyche. He has also had spells in the past at Preston North End, Manchester United, Real Sociedad, Sunderland and West Ham.

Premier League make official decision ahead of Everton vs Tottenham Hotspur

Everton lost 1-0 at home to Aston Villa last time out. Attacker Ollie Watkins scored the only goal of the game for Unai Emery’s side. Moyes will hope that his players can bounce back with a positive result and performance against Spurs. Their upcoming opponents lost 2-1 away at rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last time out and weren’t able to find an equaliser.

The Premier League have confirmed that Darren England will referee Everton’s fixture against Ange Postecoglou’s side. Marc Perry and Akil Howson are the assistant referees, with Tony Harrington as the fourth official. Meanwhile, John Brooks and Scott Ledger are on VAR duties.

England has refereed against the Toffees on 11 occasions in the past. They have won three, drawn five and lost three when he has been the man in the middle. He has dished out 23 yellow cards and zero reds. The 39-year-old worked in the Football League from 2015 to 2020. He then made the step up to the top flight and hasn’t looked back since.

What next for Everton?

Everton have got a game in-hand on the likes of Wolves and Ipswich Town around them. They are one point above the drop zone and will want to pull away as quickly as they can.

Speaking after their defeat to Aston Villa, Moyes said: “Obviously we're not pleased about losing but the game was very tight.“We didn't have as many clear chances as them but we had opportunities. I think Jesper (Lindstrom) has a big chance to score with his head and Dominic (Calvert-Lewin) has one at the end as well.

“If we’d got a goal, I don’t think anybody would have said we hadn’t deserved at least a draw but I can definitely see where the Club’s been now. We need some quality. I thought our quality on the ball tonight wasn't as good as it should have been.

“We couldn't make key passes to get us in control at the right moments or just give us the right opportunities. I thought we put two or three really good crosses in – Doucs had a chance with one in the first half. There were some really good things which we are pleased about but I can see now exactly what I’ve got.

“We were always in the game, we were never out of the game at any time. Obviously, what supporters are wanting to see is how are we going to get any more goals, where can we get the goals from. I’m not a magician, all I can do is try to look to see how we can find a way of getting goals. We've tried, we've encouraged the players to get forward more, we've encouraged them more to try to deliver good balls in, get in the right places to score.”

David Moyes has a quick turnaround for his second game as Everton manager when Tottenham Hotspur visit Goodison Park on Sunday (2pm GMT kick-off).

There was no dream return for the Scot after returning to the hot seat, with the Toffees suffering a 1-0 defeat by Aston Villa earlier this week. Everton displayed the same problems that they had under Sean Dyche - an inability to score goals. They were largely toothless against Villa and lacked composure when chances did fall their way. It leaves Everton a point above the Premier League relegation zone.

Moyes had little time to work with his players before that game. He will be hoping to impart more of his methods on the training ground before Spurs visit. Head coach Ange Postecoglou under pressure after a 2-1 loss against Arsenal in the North London derby.

Moyes may be hoping to get some players back against Tottenham. As things stand, there are six members of the squad currently sidelined and here’s a look at when they could return to action.

Seamus Coleman - calf

The Everton skipper has had fitness issues throughout the campaign and been limited to just four outings. Moyes admitted that Coleman sustained a strain in training before Villa. Much will depend whether he can shake that off.

Potential return game: Tottenham (H), Sunday 19 January or Brighton (A), Saturday 25 January.

Dwight McNeil - knee

Everton’s joint-top goalscorer has been absent for the past seven matches. The forward has been out longer than the initial prognosis and has not been in training. That means he will need to build up fitness when he is over his issue.

Potential return: Brighton (A), Saturday 25 January.

James Garner - back

The midfielder has been unavailable for three months with a back problem. Garner has been back in training this week but will need to increase fitness levels ahead of a return given his lay-off. Everton could look to get him an outing for the under-21s, also.

Potential return: Brighton (A), Saturday 25 January.

Tim Iroegbunam - foot

The summer signing from Aston Villa has also been unavailable for three months after suffering a problem in training. Before his exit, Sean Dyche revealed that Iroegbunam was around a week behind Garner in terms of his recovery. The midfielder may need minutes for the under-21s to build sharpness.

Youssef Chermiti - thigh

After spending around three months absent with a foot injury, the striker is back on the treatment table. He’s set to be unavailable for at least a couple of more weeks.

Potential return: February.

Armando Broja - ankle

The on-loan Chelsea striker has had no luck at Everton since his arrival. Broja is now absent for at least 10 weeks with an ankle problem and Everton are in talks about ending his loan. Terms with the Stamford Bridge outfit have to be agreed, though.

Liverpool are two games from a return to Wembley as they face Tottenham Hotspur in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup. The Reds travel to North London on Wednesday for the first leg of their last four clash with Spurs, before heading back to Anfield for the return leg at the start of February.

Arne Slot’s side have already won at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season after a 6-3 victory before Christmas. Liverpool had led 5-1 before the hosts made things slightly nervy by reducing the deficit to 5-3 before a Luis Diaz goal soon settled visiting nerves. Liverpool will be hoping for a more straight-forward contest on Wednesday and do hold an advantage going into the game due to a number of absences for the home side.

Ahead of the game, manager Slot said: “I think what we expect before we go into the game is that two teams have such a clear identity and playing style, that is I think what most people expect to see tomorrow again as well. They have their identity, we have our own identity, and both teams trying to force that identity towards the other. Large parts of the away game two weeks ago, we could show our identity. But there were definitely also parts in the game where they showed how good of a team they are. Scoring three goals against us is also an accomplishment. I know we scored six in the game as well but scoring three against us, not many teams have done [that] until now.”

Spurs selection woes

The home side have a host of injury concerns with Guglielmo Vicario, Ben Davies, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Micky van de Ven, Richarlison and Wilson Odobert all set to miss the game on Wednesday. However, an update from the North London club on Tuesday also highlighted that James Maddison and Pape Matar Sarr are ruled out through suspension.

A club statement read: “The midfield duo have picked up two yellow cards each in our run to the semi-finals meaning they will now miss the visit of Liverpool in the first of our two last four bouts. 'Madders' picked up the first of his bookings on his return to his boyhood club Coventry City in the third round while Pape was cautioned in our home win over Manchester City in round four. The pair then were each shown a yellow card in our quarter-final win over Manchester United last month leading to both of them being suspended for Wednesday's clash with the Reds.”

Mikey Moore could return to the squad after a long lay-off while the club’s new signing Antonin Kinsky is available for selection after completing a £10m move to Spurs from Slavia Prague on Sunday.

Slot on Liverpool team news

Joe Gomez is out with a hamstring problem while Dominik Szoboszlai is unlikely to start after missing the 2-2 draw with Manchester United due to illness. Providing an update on the midfielder, the Liverpool boss said on Tuesday: “Yesterday he wasn't in yet. If he's in today, I would doubt if he's available to start the game. But hopefully he's in today. Yesterday he wasn't.

On possible rotation, he added: "I think if you look at all the fixtures we've had this season, there are so many things going into a line-up – short term, long term, qualities of the opponent, where are my players [at]? So it's going to always be a decision made about, in our opinion, the best line-up for tomorrow. In some situations, for Southampton away or other games, in my opinion the best line-up was the ones that didn't start a lot. Let's see what that is tomorrow for the game we play against Tottenham."

Liverpool have their sights set on reaching the Carabao Cup final again this year. They are the current holders of the competition after they beat Chelsea in the final at Wembley under former boss Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds face Tottenham Hotspur in their upcoming semi-final which will be staged over two legs as per usual. Newcastle United face Arsenal in the other tie. Here is everying you need to know....

When is Liverpool’s Carabao Cup second leg against Tottenham Hotspur?

Liverpool’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield is on Thursday 6th February, 2025. Their first leg is on Wednesday 8th January at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

When is the Carabao Cup final?

The 2025 Carabao Cup final is on Sunday 16th March at Wembley. If Liverpool were to see off Spurs, they would face either Newcastle or Arsenal in London.

What has been said ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur?

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has said: “I think what we expect before we go into the game is that two teams have such a clear identity and playing style, that is I think what most people expect to see tomorrow again as well.

The January transfer window is open for business and the Reds have the chance to bring in some new players. Slot has shared this update on his plans: “It would be a bit weird if I said during the summer break that we are very happy with the team then I would tell you something completely different now. But you always look at the market, this club has always looked at the market. I think we did this with the goalkeeper we don't even have at the moment [Giorgi Mamardashvili]; if there is a chance in the market this club always tries to bring that chance in. But the team is in a good place.

“Unfortunately, Joe Gomez is injured [and] that means we go from four centre-backs back to three, but he will be back in a few weeks so [I am] very happy with the team and I think they deserved that trust from the club and from me if you look at the performances they have brought in over the last half-season.”

The Reds head into their first leg against Spurs on the back of their 2-2 draw at home to Manchester United in the Premier League last time out. Cody Gakpo and Mo Salah got their goals against the Red Devils but they weren’t able to find a winner in the end.

Liverpool could have just one player unavailable for their Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Tottenham Hotspur tonight (8pm GMT).

The Reds' squad is extremely healthy ahead of the North London clash - something that can't be said for Spurs. The home side are set to be without several key players including defensive trio Micky van de Van, Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie along with No.1 goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

Arne Slot's side, on the other hand, may only be missing Joe Gomez. The centre-back has a hamstring issue and is sidelined for the next few weeks. Liverpool could again have to make do without Dominik Szoboszlai, who did not feature in last weekend's 2-2 draw against Manchester United because of illness. The midfielder was not at training on Monday and even if he's recovered, will not start against Tottenham.

Should Szoboszlai be OK to make the bench then Slot will have to omit three players from his 20-man Liverpool squad. The Anfield head coach is currently working with a group of 24 senior pros. There is some uncertainty around Tyler Morton, who has not been involved since the 2-1 win over Southampton in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

One player very likely to be absent is third-choice goalkeeper Viteslav Jaros. He was given his full debut in the 3-2 fourth-round win over Brighton when No.1 Alisson Becker was injured and Caoimhin Kelleher was rested.

If Szoboszlai comes back in then a midfielder involved against United may drop out. Wataru Endo has been a regular in the Carabao Cup this season but been down the pecking order in the Premier League and Champions League. Harvey Elliott is another who will want a chance after being used sparingly since recovering from a fractured foot. Alternatively, Slot could look to hand a rest to Ryan Gravenberch or Alexis Mac Allister given how much football they have played this campaign.

Or Slot could decide he does not need six forward options so Federico Chiesa could have to drop out.

The Anfield boss has also not committed to who will line-up in goal between Alisson and Kelleher. Alisson is firmly first choice in the Premier League and Champions League but in the past three seasons, Kelleher has been the regular stopper in this competition - helping Liverpool win it twice.

Liverpool head to Tottenham just weeks after earning an enthralling 6-3 win.On what he will be expecting from Spurs, Slot said: "I think what we expect before we go into the game is that two teams have such a clear identity and playing style, that is I think what most people expect to see tomorrow again as well.

"They have their identity, we have our own identity, and both teams trying to force that identity towards the other. Large parts of the away game two weeks ago, we could show our identity. But there were definitely also parts in the game where they showed how good of a team they are. Scoring three goals against us is also an accomplishment. I know we scored six in the game as well but scoring three against us, not many teams have done [that] until now."
