Wolverhampton Wanderers have tabled an offer for Real Betis midfielder Johnny Cardoso, who Tottenham Hotspur have an option on, though their offer falls short of the Spanish club’s valuation.

The Premier League strugglers are making last-ditch attempts to find a replacement for Mario Lemina, who is bound for Saudi Arabia, as well as to strengthen their squad.

While a move for Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Volodymyr Brazhko is being worked on, yet another option has been identified by the Wolves hierarchy.

US midfielder Cardoso has left an impression on the Wolves scouts and with the transfer window rapidly drawing to a close, they have even gone on to table an offer for him.

According to Spanish journalist Ivan Quiros, Vítor Pereira’s team have offered a €20m fee for the player, though Real Betis are asking for €10m more.

Cardoso is a player that Tottenham boast an option on.

While selling Giovani Lo Celso to Betis last summer Tottenham negotiated an option to buy Cardoso next summer for a set fee of €25m.

It remains to be seen whether Wolves are able to overcome every stumbling block to secure the player before Monday’s deadline.

Tottenham Hotspur are close to sealing a move for Manchester City’s young prospect Daniel Batty, who is currently undergoing his medical in London, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The teenager performs the number ten role for Manchester City’s academy and is a regular for their Under-18 team.

This season, he has played in 17 Under-18 Premier League matches for the Cityzens, scoring two goals and setting up three more for his team-mates.

Top prospect Batty has also featured in the UEFA Youth League and the FA Youth Cup.

However, he is not currently in the frame to get into manager Pep Guardiola’s senior team mix and he is heading elsewhere.

Tottenham have identified his potential and are now close to luring him away from Manchester.

They have agreed to pay Manchester City a £500,000 transfer fee and have also promised future add-ons with a sell-on percentage as well.

‘Medical ongoing’ is the verdict for the teenager, who will look to pass his tests with the London-based side before penning a contract to join Tottenham’s youth ranks.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has picked his team and substitutes for tonight’s Europa League meeting with Elfsborg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs start the night sitting in sixth spot in the league phase table and are well placed to make sure they finish in the top eight to book a last 16 spot.

Whether Spurs need to win remains dependent upon other results, but Postecoglou will want to take no chances and will demand three points.

Visitors Elfsborg are scrapping to hold on to their spot in the playoff round and arrive in north London having won three, lost three and drawn one of their games so far.

In goal for Spurs tonight is Brandon Austin, while in defence Postecoglou picks Pedro Porro, Archie Gray, Micky van de Ven and Ben Davies.

Midfield sees the Spurs manager go with Pape Matar Sarr and Rodrigo Bentancur, while Lucas Bergvall and Mikey Moore support Richarlison and Heung-Min Son.

If Postecoglou needs to shake things up then he has options off the bench and they include Dejan Kulusevski and Will Lankshear.

Tottenham Hotspur have begun direct negotiations with Bayern Munich for Manchester United and Arsenal target Mathys Tel.

The 19-year-old winger is unhappy with his situation at Bayern Munich and wants to leave on loan before the window closes.

Tel has no shortage of suitors, with Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Arsenal all in the mix for his signature, while Chelsea are also keen.

It is suggested that among Tel’s suitors, Tottenham have been most active in recent hours.

Tottenham technical director Johan Lange has travelled to Germany to hold talks with the Bundesliga giants regarding a possible deal.

According to German broadcaster Sky Deutschland, Spurs have now started direct negotiations with Bayern Munich regarding Tel.

Tottenham want to be decisive and quick as they look to beat off competition from rivals Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.

It has also been suggested that Ruben Amorim’s side are looking for a loan deal to take Tel to Old Trafford.

As suitors in the ongoing window line up for the 19-year-old winger, he has yet to decide where he wants to go.

Tottenham Hotspur are amongst seven ‘clubs calling for’ an attacker that could well depart his current club on loan before the window slams shut.

Ange Postecoglou has been wrestling with a torrid injury situation in north London and Spurs’ results have nosedived as a result.

While the club backed Postecoglou with a new goalkeeper in the shape of Antonin Kinsky, he has yet to have his demand for defensive and attacking reinforcements met.

The club are looking at a number of options to support the Australian before the window closes on Monday night next week.

They have held talks with Brentford about Yoane Wissa, but they are also one of seven ‘clubs calling for’ Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Bayern Munich are prepared to loan the winger out and Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all keen.

Tel wants more game time and is prepared to leave the Allianz Arena to get it.

It may be a stiff task for Tottenham to beat off the big competition for his signature and deliver him to Postecoglou, but they are looking at the deal.

Monaco are bracing themselves for an onslaught on their Swiss forward Breel Embolo, who is a player of interest for Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur.

Embolo has not left much impression on Adi Hutter with his performances up front this season as a result of which the Ligue 1 outfit are exploring options in the market to provide cover in the attacking position.

Monaco they would be open to selling the player in the coming days provided that a suitable offer is tabled.

Embolo does not lack suitors though with multiple European clubs showing keen interest in signing him.

Tottenham are one of those, as manager Ange Postecoglou is looking for more goalscoring options and depth in general following a torrid time with injuries.

According to French sports daily L’Equipe, Monaco are bracing themselves for multiple offers in the next few days.

The situation, as it stands, will keep Monaco on their toes until the window closes.

All eyes will be on whether Spurs do pull the trigger on a bid for Embolo.

The Swiss forward has featured in a total of 26 games for the French club, making ten goal contributions.

Tottenham Hotspur new boy Yang Min-Hyeok is set to go out on loan to Championship side Queens Park Rangers today, according to football.london.

Spurs agreed to a deal with Gangwon FC for highly rated winger Yang in the summer and the player joined them in January.

Tottenham are short of options in the forward department and Yang was on the bench for Spurs’ last two Premier League fixtures.

The 18-year-old has yet to make his debut for Spurs and it is suggested that he might be loaned out to gain experience of English football.

Championship outfit QPR, who are only six points off from the last playoff spot, are interested in signing Yang.

A forward is on Spurs’ agenda in the ongoing window, but Daniel Levy has failed to bring in an attacker to help Ange Postecoglou yet.

And despite that, Tottenham are ready to sanction Yang’s departure as he is set to join QPR today.

Spurs will want the youngster to have regular game time in the Championship to get himself used to the nature and the demands of the English game.

West Ham United ‘hope to be able to secure’ a Tottenham Hotspur target on a pre-contract now to ensure he heads to the London Stadium in the summer.

Now with Graham Potter at the helm and with technical director Tim Steidten departing, it is all change at West Ham.

Potter has been critical about West Ham rushing into transfer deals and he is expected to demand a more considered and longer term approach from the Hammers.

Now West Ham have joined Tottenham in being keen on landing Lille midfielder Angel Gomes, who is into the final six months of his contract in France.

Tottenham want Gomes now, but West Ham are eyeing him for the summer, according to French sports daily L’Equipe.

West Ham ‘hope to be able to secure’ Gomes on a pre-contractual agreement.

Lille do not want to let players go in what remains of the winter transfer window, making Spurs’ task of getting a deal done now tough.

If Spurs do manage to achieve a breakthrough then for the midfielder, who came through the youth ranks at Manchester United, all eyes will be on whether West Ham bring forward their plans.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Milan Skriniar, who has been of interest to Tottenham Hotspur, will have a medical today in Istanbul ahead of a move to Fenerbahce.

The north London club are having a below-par season and they currently find themselves fighting for a place in the top half of the table.

An injury crisis in defence has been a huge issue all season and they have been looking for reinforcements, with Skriniar on their radar as an option.

Spurs are suggested to have asked PSG about the centre-back’s situation, but they appear to be missing out on him as he is Turkey bound.

According to Turkish broadcaster Sports Digitale, Skriniar will be in Istanbul today to go through his medical tests with Fenerbahce.

The Yellow Canaries and PSG have reached an agreement for Skriniar’s switch to the Super Lig.

Jose Mourinho personally called the former Inter man to convince him about joining Fenerbahce and that has been crucial.

It appears to be a matter of time before Fenerbahce announce the Tottenham target’s capture.

Tottenham Hotspur are likely to allow one of their top-rated youngsters to leave this month on loan amid interest from EFL clubs and Scottish clubs, according to Sky Sports News.

Spurs have placed a heavy focus on bringing through their own young players in recent years and also backed Ange Postecoglou in the market with younger players.

The likes of Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, Wilson Odobert and Yang Min-hyeok were all signed with a long-term vision in mind.

They also have academy graduates like Will Lankshear, Tyrese Hall, and Mikey Moore, who are seen as big players for the future.

He is attracting clubs from the Championship, League One and also clubs from the Scottish Premiership.

Spurs are expected to sanction a loan exit as they want to give him first-team football for the rest of this season.

However, the club will want to make sure that they find the right destination to ensure game time and adequate development.
