Tottenham have suffered a big blow with Dejan Kulusevski spotted in a protective boot ahead of the AZ Alkmaar clash

Ange Postecoglou just cannot catch a break as yet another Tottenham Hotspur player has suffered an injury setback.

The Australian tactician’s second season in North London has been ravaged by an unprecedented injury situation. Barring only a few first-team players, everyone have spent time on the sidelines. This has directly impacted on the team’s performance levels and results in the Premier League, while also derailing the North Londoners’ Carabao Cup and FA Cup campaigns.

Now, before the crucial first leg of the Europa League round of 16 clash against AZ Alkmaar in the Netherlands, Spurs have suffered a big blow. Club insider Paul O Keefe has revealed on X that Dejan Kulusevski is suffering from a foot injury which the club officials are assessing.

The Tottenham star has been in the boot since Saturday. He has undergone scans and is waiting for the results, Paul O Keefe added.

No player in the Tottenham squad has played more games than Dejan Kulusevski this season. The Sweden international has already racked up 42 appearances across all competitions, bagging 10 goals and as many assists. The 24-year-old has undoubtedly been Tottenham’s best player in an injury-ravaged season, being transformed into a central midfielder by Ange Postecoglou.

Operating through the middle, Kulusevski has delivered consistent performances and helped Spurs register some noteworthy wins. Thus, the Swede’s injury is a seismic blow for Big Ange and his side. He could be set for a spell on the sidelines due to a foot injury, although the results of a scan have yet to come.

The Tottenham star will reportedly miss Thursday’s Europa League clash against AZ Alkmaar and the Premier League game against Bournemouth at home. It remains to be seen whether he can feature again before the international break, with Big Ange likely to confirm the extent of the injury during his pre-match press conference on Wednesday.

If he fails to feature before the international break, we could see Kulusevski in action at the earliest against Chelsea on April 3—of course, subject to the speed of his recovery. Our fans will be hoping the injury is nothing serious and just a minor setback.

The Lilywhites are also dealing with a few other injuries, further testing their squad depth as Big Ange juggles domestic and European commitments.

Tottenham confident they are leading the race for Tyler Dibling

Tottenham confident they are leading the race for Southampton’s prodigious talent Tyler Dibling

Tottenham Hotspur bolstered their squad during the January transfer window with three fresh faces. Antonin Kinsky, Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel arrived at N17 to provide Ange Postecoglou with much-needed help after his side has been severely decimated by injuries this season.

Having fortified the defensive and offensive units in the previous window, there is real determination within the club chiefs to also bolster their options in the middle of the park after finding themselves in the bottom half of the Premier League and out of the domestic cup competitions.

Southampton starlet Tyler Dibling has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs over the recent months. The Lilywhites were interested in signing the prodigious English talent during the winter transfer window but Southampton were reluctant to let him leave amid their fight against relegation.

The 19-year-old’s displays at the St Mary’s Stadium have won him many admirers across the Premier League. However, according to talkSPORT chief correspondent Alex Crook’s Transfer Notebook, Tottenham feel they are leading the race for Tyler Dibling ahead of a potential move in the off-season.

The Exeter-born attacker is expected to leave the Saints once their relegation from the Premier League is confirmed, with Ivan Juric’s side having only picked up nine points so far this season. Dibling is out of contract in the summer of 2026, and having been ‘unhappy’ with the new deal that he has been offered, Southampton will be raring to get a substantial fee for the teenager’s services when he departs.

The aforementioned report adds Newcastle United and Aston Villa have made initial enquiries about luring Dibling away from the south coast, although Spurs believe that the Southampton man will choose them as his next destination.

As he is entering the final year of his contract, Tottenham honcho Daniel Levy feels Southampton will not be in a position to ask in excess of £50m for their blossoming talent. The Saints are already being doomed to get relegated, which would further make it difficult for them to ask for an exorbitant fee for the England under-21 international.

Dibling has demonstrated that he can be unplayable on his day, with defences struggling to keep him silent, and he has also demonstrated an eye for goal this season, having found the back of the net a couple of times in the top flight. The teenage sensation’s dribbling, burst of acceleration, unpredictability, versatility and goalscoring instinct could help revitalise the North Londoners’ attack, which has underperformed of late.

Eberechi Eze unlikely to move to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer

Tottenham Hotspur face a fight on their hands to land Eberechi Eze

Tottenham Hotspur have been in search of a left-sided attacking midfielder to bolster their attack and improve their chances to win a trophy under Ange Postecoglou. The North London club continue to be interested in Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze as they consider him as an important target for their summer transfer window.

However, it has been reported by Fabrizio Romano in his GIVEMESPORT newsletter that there is a release clause inserted in the 26-year-old’s contract and any deal would be “difficult” to complete. Spurs have been long-term admirers of the England international and have always been in the running to sign him, alongside other top six clubs.

When asked if the interest from Tottenham Hotspur was genuine, Fabrizio Romano said,

“He’s been on the Spurs list since 2023, he’s always been highly rated at the club. But the release clause is very expensive and the payment for the clause is not allowed in 3 or 4 years as usually happens, so that’s what makes the deal difficult – and there are more clubs also keen.”

It is not likely that the England international heads to Spurs in the summer as a number of clubs will be in the running for him and a complex release clause will make it difficult for the North London club to move for him. Given this development, it remains to be seen if Spurs are better off pursuing other targets who are easy to attain.

Eberechi Eze will be an ideal signing for Tottenham Hotspur

Eberechi Eze has been one of the standout performers for Crystal Palace ever since joining the club in 2020 from Queens Park Rangers. The 26-year-old has made the left-sided No. 10 position his own and has been a consistent performer for Oliver Glasner’s side.

Tottenham need a proven Premier League player to provide competition in the attack. Eze seems to fit the bill as he could play in behind the striker as an attacking midfielder, as well as play on the left wing and cut inside to create chances. The Palace star tends to find half spaces in the final third of the pitch and create chances for his teammates. He also suits Spurs’ style of play as he can cover ground and counter-press by endlessly running throughout the whole game, something which Ange Postecoglou demands from his own players.

Eze leads his team in assists this season in the league with six assists to his name. The former Milwall academy player also has 2.1 Key Passes Per Game for his team, which ranks him first for chances created. Spurs will be looking to add him to their attack as he could be a perfect replacement for James Maddison, who has struggled with injuries and form of late. The North London club could also see him as a potential future replacement for their star winger, Heung-Min Son.

Spurs scout thinks Tottenham would accept £15m to sell Yves Bissouma

Tottenham planning to offload Yves Bissouma during the summer transfer window amid Crystal Palace interest

Tottenham Hotspur are considering listening to offers for one of the senior stars in the squad amidst his struggle for consistency this season.

Having witnessed an unprecedented injury situation this season, Ange Postecoglou would have expected many of his senior players to pull up their sleeves and help the team navigate through the crisis. One of those who had an opportunity to cement his place in the XI was Yves Bissouma.

Yves Bissouma has failed to live up to his potential at White Hart Lane since arriving from Brighton and Hove Albion back in the summer of 2022. He has not been consistent under Ange Postecoglou, and that combined with Lucas Bergvall’s emergence, the central midfielder continues to be in and out of the first XI.

As the Mali international enters the final year of his contract, the Hotspur Way bosses are exploring the possibility of cashing him in when the transfer window reopens. A host of clubs are emerging as potential destinations for the 28-year-old. Spurs’ London rivals, Crystal Palace are reportedly among the clubs keen on signing Yves Bissouma in the summer.

And Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King thinks an offer of £15m would be enough to persuade the club to sell Bissouma.

Indeed, it is time for the club to part ways with Bissouma. We need to accept that the transfer has not worked out as everyone thought when Tottenham signed the African star from Brighton. The 28-year-old has struggled in Postecoglou’s high-pressing, intense system, lacking the technical attributes required to operate as a defensive midfielder.

As he is very unlikely to be offered a new contract, Spurs must not hesitate to accept an offer within £15m to £20m. With a year left on his contract, that should be a decent fee to get for someone with Premier League experience. By offloading Bissouma, the club chiefs must bring in ceiling-raisers in their midfield.

Tottenham learn new release clause details about Benjamin Sesko

Tottenham will have to spend a mammoth fee if they intend to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko this summer

The need for a new forward has been growing at Tottenham Hotspur, and we saw how the club aggressively worked during the winter window to add to the squad.

The North Londoners signed Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich with an option to buy at the end of the season. However, due to the amount of injury problems that has ravaged the season, Ange Postecoglou, along with the club chief,s are gathering targets to go into the summer transfer window.

Spurs must seek a replacement for Richarlison, whose future at N17 remains unambiguous because of persistent injury issues. At 32, Son Heung-min is not a spring chicken while Timo Werner’s loan deal from RB Leipzig will not be turned permanent. In addition, club-record signing Dominic Solanke has spent more than a month on the sidelines with a knee problem.

RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has been on the radar of Tottenham for some time now. He has been linked with a highly anticipated move to the Premier League, with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United interested in acquiring his services.

In a fresh development, Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has revealed on his official X account that Benjamin Sesko has a formal release clause in his RB Leipzig contract.

The clause officially becomes valid in the summer and the Slovenian’s price has already risen from that previous €65m figure to €70m. It can increase even further and reach up to €80m amid interest from Tottenham.

Regarded as one of the best young strikers in Europe, Sesko has scored 17 goals and provided five assists for RB Leipzig across all competitions so far this campaign, thus attracting heavyweight interest. Florian Plettenberg adds the value of the clause will depend on multiple factors, including games played, goals scored and assists made, and will increase as the season goes on.

Sesko’s price tag could be out of Tottenham’s price range, with Daniel Levy and Johan Lange expected to prioritise budgetary deals alongside player sales to address several areas of the pitch. If they are to replace Richarlison, the club would look out for a cost-effective solution rather than throwing big money.

Not to forget, the Lilywhites broke their club transfer record by signing Solanke from Bournemouth last summer. Thus, it makes no sense to pay a premium for Sesko’s potential as Tottenham require an experienced striker who will not create a fuss to operate as a backup for Solanke.

Tottenham join transfer race for Atalanta star Ademola Lookman

Tottenham are set to battle Liverpool and Chelsea for the signing of Atalanta star Ademola Lookman

Tottenham Hotspur have started working behind the scenes to improve the squad in the summer after a torrid 2024/25 campaign.

During the January transfer window, the North Londoners bolstered their squad with the signings of Antonin Kinsky, Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso. They are all proving to be quality, long-term additions to Ange Postecoglou’s squad. However, after an underwhelming season that currently sees the Lilywhites in the bottom half of the table, massive changes are expected to happen in the summer.

Spurs have been linked with Atalanta star Ademola Lookman in the past. Given the situation that has developed at the club, the player has every chance of leaving Bergamo at the end of this ongoing campaign, with the Premier League the most likely destination.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Tottenham have joined Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool for the signing of Ademola Lookman, who is not happy at Atalanta and has been exploring options for his next destination.

Since joining Atalanta from RB Leipzig in 2022, Lookman has established himself as one of Serie A’s most dangerous attackers, amassing an impressive 49 goals and 23 assists in 108 competitive matches. He famously scored a hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen last season, helping La Dea lift the trophy.

However, Lookman has been at the centre of speculation since his manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, labelled him “one of the worst penalty takers” after he missed a crucial spot kick in a defeat to Club Brugge in the Champions League last month. The winger hit back at Gasperini in a statement on social media, in which he deemed his gaffer’s remarks as ‘deeply disrespectful.’

The Nigerian international responded to his manager and naysayers in perfect style, bagging an eye-catching brace in the 5-0 demolition of Empoli on February 23. While he couldn’t add to his tally in Atalanta’s 0-0 draw with Venezia last weekend, the 27-year-old remains one of the coveted commodities across Europe and his uncertain future in Bergamo has put clubs on red alert.

The aforementioned report adds Atalanta’s board prefers to sell the ex-RB Leipzig man outside of Italy, with offers expected to be around €45 million, plus performance-based bonuses. This gives Premier League teams an edge in the race for the explosive winger’s signature.

For Tottenham, there is a dire need to bring in a productive outlet from wide areas who possesses technical ability and flair, and by how Lookman has been performing in Serie A since last year, he fits the bill perfectly. The reigning African Player of The Year has come a long way from his failed stints in the Premier League, and now at 27, he is a mature and experienced campaigner perhaps waiting for a chance to go back to England and prove himself.

The exciting project at White Hart Lane would be perfect for the Nigerian as he will not only enhance Big Ange’s first XI but also add quality depth to the squad which is required for Spurs to challenge for trophies. His experience of the Premier League while at Everton is an added bonus. Thus, we must be all over Lookman’s signature in the summer.

Spurs not feeling confident about prospects of landing Marc Guehi

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be in the mix for the signing of Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi

Tottenham Hotspur were among the busiest clubs in the Premier League during the January transfer window, bringing in three new faces at N17. In Antonin Kinsky, Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso, Spurs made three exciting signings to back Ange Postecoglou after his side had been stretched due to persistent injury problems.

The Lilywhites’ defensive areas of the pitch have been hit the most this season, with first-choice centre-backs Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven, along with No.1 goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, spending months on the sidelines. Above all, Radu Dragusin has been ruled out for the rest of the season after sustaining an ACL injury in January.

In the wake of Dragusin’s season-ending injury, Spurs brought in Danso on loan from RC Lens with an obligation to buy at the end of the season. However, before the Austrian’s acquisition, the club made an audacious attempt to sign Crystal Palace skipper Marc Guehi by tabling a shock £70m offer.

But the Eagles immediately rejected that offer as they didn’t want to sell their 24-year-old defensive lynchpin midway through the campaign. This was perhaps because either they were not satisfied with Spurs’ offer or had very little time to identify a replacement.

Tottenham are seemingly planning to revive their interest in Marc Guehi. However, according to an exclusive report from GIVEMESPORT, the North London club are not confident that they will be able to get a deal for the Crystal Palace captain done. They acknowledge internally that signing Guehi will be difficult.

Spurs are expected to be right in the centre of speculation for a move involving the England international, who has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League in recent years. While the Hotspur Way bosses may not feel confident about signing Guehi, perhaps due to increased competition with Premier League rivals Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all showing interest in him, one cannot ignore the fact that Ange Postecoglou needs defensive reinforcements ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

This is because Romero and Van de Ven simply cannot be relied upon, especially the latter, following their injury-ravaged seasons. Plus, Dragusin is expected to be out for the best part of 2025 as all eyes will be on his rehab from a serious knee injury, while Ben Davies is out of contract at the end of the season.

Clearly, Big Ange lacks depth as far as his centre-back department is concerned, making it imperative to bring in a quality player, someone in the mould of Guehi. However, it appears Tottenham face an uphill battle to land the ex-Chelsea starlet, which could compel them to look for alternative options when the transfer window reopens.

Why Spurs should not move for Felix

Description

There has been an increasing need for creativity and flair in the midfield at White Hart Lane with Ange Postecoglou continually looking outward to bring in a talent who can make an impact and bring that moment of magic into the roster at N17, and that’s exactly where the links to Joao Felix make sense. Felix has always been one of those silky players who looks magical when he runs with the ball at his feet and creates those slick moments that leave the supporters in awe.

Daniel Levy explored a move to bring the former Atletico Madrid maestro to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the recently concluded winter transfer window, but while the club chairman explored a move for the Portuguese international, he sealed a loan deal to AC Milan.

Joao Felix & life in Serie A

Initially, things pointed to a possible loan to a permanent transfer, given how he started life at San Siro on a high. He started being the Felix from Benfica, one that is dazzling with the ball and making things happen. But soon those performances stopped, and now a permanent move to his current temporary employer looks highly unlikely, per Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by Sport Witness.

This is where Tottenham come in…

There is a possibility that the North Londoners could be looking to reignite their interest in signing the 25-year-old when the summer window comes around, but is that a mistake? Haven’t Tottenham learnt their lesson yet?

Should Tottenham avoid another Chelsea misfit?

The Lilywhites supporters have just seen Timo Werner enduring a challenging loan spell at N17, which raises questions about the potential success of signing another Chelsea reject in Joao Felix.

Werner was brought in with a reputation for speed and goal-scoring from Germany, but his current spell donning the Spurs badge has seen him put in some consistent, underwhelming performances. And the pundits as well as supporters have expressed huge frustration with his presence at Tottenham as the club has reportedly gone against exercising their £8.5 million option to bring the former Chelsea star on a permanent deal, which in turn signals a disappointing end to his stint at Hotspur Way.

Now you can easily draw parallels between Werner and Felix; both had struggled to adapt to the pace and physicality of English football during their time in West London and have been subsequently reduced to a bench role before being shipped off.

Wait there is more… Felix is already a ‘disaster’ in Serie A

Moreover, you can also draw lines to Felix’s recent loan move to AC Milan from Chelsea, where despite a promising debut, his performances have dropped massively, which has seen high criticism from the media coming his way, one labelling him a “disaster” while highlighting how he lacks the ability to make an impact on the pitch, while reports also suggest that his teammates at San Siro are hesitant to involve him in play, showing his troubles to settle in at life in Serie A.

To put things into perspective, Felix does possess exceptional technical abilities, but his adaptability and consistency are a thing of concern, very much like with Werner. And Tottenham’s experience with Werner should serve as a caution in investing in a player who may end up struggling despite his individual quality.

linked Pablo Barrios wanted by rivals Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur-linked Atletico Madrid midfielder Pablo Barrios attracted interest from Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur’s season has largely been deterred by a massive injury crisis, though with the team alive in the Europa League and still fighting to finish the Premier League season as high as possible, the Hotspur Way chiefs needed to strengthen the squad during the winter transfer window.

The Lilywhites focused mainly on addressing the defensive and offensive units, adding the likes of Antonin Kinsky, Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel to Ange Postecoglou’s roster. Now, the club have started planning for the summer transfer window after an extremely disappointing season, seemingly setting their sights on a central midfielder.

Spurs have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Pablo Barrios. They are willing to invest big in the region of €75 million in order to get the deal done.

Pablo Barrios has emerged as one of Atletico Madrid’s most consistent performers over the last 12 months. He broke into the first team last season and hasn’t looked back since, catching the eye of several European clubs with some exemplary performances. This has also seen the midfielder earn a cap for Spain back in November 2024.

The 21-year-old has shown great signs of improvement this season, clocking 26 appearances across all competitions thus far. Barrios perhaps needs to work on his discipline and temper, having already been shown two red cards.

For Daniel Levy and Tottenham showing their willingness to invest a big fee shows the kind of faith they have in Barrios’ ability and potential. It also proves the club’s commitment toward building their long-term strategy at White Hart Lane. However, they are not the only club interested in the Atletico Madrid starlet’s signature.

According to an exclusive report from TBR Football, Arsenal are also interested in Barrios. Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi is their No.1 midfield target, although the Gunners are assessing other possible midfield options which include Atletico’s Barrios.

Given that Tottenham are planning to cash in Yves Bissouma during the summer transfer window and look to bring in a commendable backup to Rodrigo Bentancur, Arsenal entering the race for Barrios is a seismic blow for Ange Postecoglou.

At 21, the Spaniard does suit Levy’s transfer policy from recent years, and he fits the profile of a player who is technically strong and tactically sound to thrive in Big Ange’s high-pressing, attacking system at White Hart Lane. The Australian tactician would love a tenacious and combative presence operating from the base of Spurs’ midfield, and the Atletico Madrid man will be ideal for that role.

As for Arsenal, they have started competing for the Premier League title in recent years and currently have a better structure and more pulling power than Tottenham. So, any potential move to bring Barrios to N17 will be difficult if the Gunners compound their interest, given how they are close to securing Champions League football for next season.

That being said, however, at Tottenham, a talent like Barrios will be given time and space to express himself and thrive, something that would not be available at the Emirates Stadium.

Tottenham urged to fight against defensive star's international callup

Tottenham Hotspur could block Cristian Romero from participating in Argentina games during the upcoming international break

Tottenham Hotspur’s injury situation has got better in the last couple of weeks. Ange Postecoglou welcomed back five players from injury in the 1-0 win over Manchester United at home last month.

This timely boost in squad health could not come at a more critical juncture, especially with a significant first leg of the Europa League Round of 16 clash against AZ Alkmaar at home looming. One of the most eagerly awaited comebacks is that of Cristian Romero.

Since suffering thigh and quad injury setbacks that have kept him out of regular play since early December, the anticipation around the South American defender’s return has been building. He has been out of action for a long time now, striking a substantial blow to the defensive strategies of Ange Postecoglou and leaving Spurs bereft of their leader at the back.

Cristian Romero is close to returning after spending almost three months on the sidelines, with the club’s medical department giving him as much time as he needs to recover fully and ensure another setback doesn’t occur. However, with the international break on the horizon, Spurs could be forced to have an awkward conversation with the centre-back.

This is the view of Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham. He thinks Tottenham could block Romero from joining the Argentina camp in the upcoming international break, potentially causing a few problems behind the scenes.

Every Tottenham supporter knows how much passion Romero has for playing for Argentina. The centre-back even expressed a desire to represent his national team at the Olympic Games last summer – despite a hugely taxing 2023/24 campaign. However, Spurs were against the idea of him playing for Argentina and he ended up not going to Paris for the tournament.

Having missed large chunks of this campaign, Tottenham are well within their rights to block the 26-year-old from travelling to South America, which may not go down well for Romero and his camp. It could also have an effect on talks over a new contract which the club have planned to hold with the Cordoba-born star.

Romero has not featured for months, and even if he recovers and gets some minutes in the next couple of games, our club must prevent him from teaming up with the Argentina national team in the upcoming international break in a bid to avoid a fresh setback.
