Born in Bethnal Green in 1960, Garry Brooke joined Tottenham Hotspur in 1978. Before making his debut in the 1980-81 season, he had a brief loan spell with Swedish side GAIS. His first season with Spurs was one of triumph, as he helped secure an FA Cup victory against Manchester City in a thrilling 3-2 final.
Brooke came off the bench to play a pivotal role in that victory. The following year, he was again instrumental in Spurs' FA Cup success, contributing as a substitute in extra time during the 1981-82 final.
