Manchester City's season continues to unravel and Pep Guardiola's reeling side make the trip to Tottenham looking for three precious points in the scrap to secure Champions League football for next season.

City's bid for a fifth successive Premier League crown was effectively over by Christmas but there was a general assumption they would come good at the turn of the year and be fighting in the latter stages of the Champions League.

But Guardiola's side only just scraped into the play-off round and were outclassed by Real Madrid, with two bets landing for our man Gabriel as a 3-1 defeat in the Bernabeu last week sealed a 6-3 aggregate defeat.

Manchester City followed that up by losing 2-0 at home to Liverpool in the Premier League, bringing up two bets for Slips Tips, and now head to London to face a Spurs side who battered them 4-0 at the Etihad earlier this season.

Tottenham's form fell off a cliff after the high of that stunning win but injuries to so many key players played a big part in their slump and the walking wounded are now returning to action.

It looked like Ange Postecoglou might be sacked after a dismal run of results but he has now overseen three successive Premier League wins and a doing the double over City would ease the pressure even further.

How the bookies view it: Stumbling City still odds-on

Despite looking more vulnerable than at any point in Guardiola's reign, Man City remain 20/23 hot favourites for this one with BoyleSports. Tottenham Hotspur look overpriced at 5/2 while the draw pays 3/1.

Recent head to head: Hex appeal for Spurs

Spurs have been a bogey team for Guardiola and his Manchester City side have won just five of the last 14 meetings. Postecoglou's men have won both matches this season, with a 2-1 EFL Cup triumph in London followed by that Etihad rout.

Players to watch: Brennan's a comeback king

Brennan Johnson heads into this game with his tail up after netting a double against Ipswich on his first start since returning form injury. The Welsh winger's pace could cause City problems and he's a decent 5/4 with Bet365 to either score or assist. Backing him for just anytime scorer boosts the odds to 9/4 at BoyleSports.

With Erling Haaland a fitness doubt after missing the last two games, City's best hope for a goal could come from Phil Foden. The playmaker hasn't been at his best this season but is still capable of a moment of magic and he's 2/1 for anytime scorer at BoyleSports.

Probable line-ups

Tottenham are still without first-choice centre backs Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven as well as star striker Dominic Solanke. Richarlison, Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin are also still sidelined.

City will be hoping Haaland can recover in time to feature but John Stone, Oscar Bobb, Rodri and Manuel Akanji are set to miss out again.

Tottenham Hotspur: Vicario, Spence, Danso, Davies, Udogie, Sar, Kulusevski, Bentancur, Son, Johnson, Tel.

Manchester City: Ederson, Khusanov, Dias, Ake, Gvardiol, Gonzalez, Kovacic, Foden, Savinho, Doku, Marmoush.

Anything else catch the eye?

I'm surprised to see Tottenham at such a big price given City's recent form and they look worth a punt at 10/11 in the double chance with BoyleSports. The same firm also price Spurs at a boosted 6/5 to win either half.

Both managers are committed to playing attacking football so this should be a good spectacle with plenty of chances at both ends. BTTS pays just 3/10 but combining that with over 3.5 goals boost the odds to 20/21. Over 1.5 first-half goals also stands a chance at 10/11.

The last five Premier League meetings have all hit double figures for corners so that's another market worth looking at. But you have to go to over 11.5 corners to get close to evens at 10/11 with BoyleSports.

Ipswich Town got their Premier League season up and running with a shock win on the road against Tottenham Hotspur and will now be out to give their survival hopes a massive boost by doing the double over Ange Postecoglou's side.

The Tractor Boys recorded their first win in the top flight for 22 years when the beat Spurs 2-1 back in November, a game that brought up two bets for me. But they've only claimed two more league victories since then and that's why they remain odds on to be relegated.

Kieran McKenna's side did boost their chances of dodging the drop with an excellent point at Aston Villa last time out, recovering from a first-half red card to claim a 1-1 draw. That has left them just two points behind Wolves in the table so another win over Tottenham could lift them out of the relegation places.

Spurs were beginning to flirt with the drop themselves after a horror run that saw them win just once in 11 Premier League games. But they've won their last two in the league against Brentford and Manchester United to move back into mid-table and ease the pressure on Postecoglou.

The Aussie had been the odds-on favourite for next Premier League manager to be sacked but last week's victory over United saw his price shift to a best 6/5.

Players are now coming back from injury so Postecoglou will be looking for another three points at Portman Road to get more fans back onside.

How the bookies view it: Spurs revival to gather pace

BoyleSports fancy Tottenham to make it three Premier League wins in a row as they have Postecoglou's side as 10/11 favourites. Ipswich Town are 5/2 outsiders and the draw pays 11/4.

Recent head to head: Four in a woe for Tottenham

That 2-1 victory in London earlier this season made it four wins in a row for Ipswich against Spurs, a run that spans 24 years. Tottenham last tasted victory in this fixture way back in August 2000.

Players to watch: Delap holds the key for Tractor Boys

Backing Liam Delap for a goal paid off for me in that win over Spurs back in November and the striker will be the biggest Ipswich threat again. He's 11/8 at BoyleSports to take his tally for the season to 11.

Mathys Tel looks like a good acquisition for Spurs and the Frenchman has one goal already from his three outings. He's 15/8 at BoyleSports for anytime scorer in this one.

Probable line-ups

Axel Tuanzebe is suspended for Ipswich after his red card against Villa last weekend. Julio Enciso was also injured early on in that match and could miss out along with Conor Chaplin, Sam Morsy, Cheidozie Ogbene, Sammie Szmodics, Wes Burns, Christian Walton and Leif Davis.

Tottenham's injury crisis is easing but they still look set to be without Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Radu Dragusin, Timo Werner, Dominic Solanke and Richarlison.

Ipswich Town: Palmer, Townsend, Greaves, O'Shea, Wolfenden, Phillips, Clarke, Cajuste, Johnson, Hutchinson, Delap.

Tottenham Hotspur:Â Vicario, Spence, Danso, Davies, Porro, Sar, Bentancur, Kulusevski, Maddison, Son, Tel.

Anything else catch the eye?

Goals are usually guaranteed at both ends with Postecoglou's side but they've kept clean sheets in their last two Premier League games. I've got a feeling this game will be quite open though as Ipswich are likely to have a go instead of parking the bus.

The bookies agree as BTTS is tiny at 2/5 with BoyleSports while adding on over 2.5 goals only boosts the odds to 3/4. You can get to 11/10 though by combining BTTS with no draw.

Going for Spurs corners paid off for me in that last meeting as Postecoglou's side won 12-2 on that count. Those figures are likely to be closer with Ipswich having home advantage but over 6.5 Tottenham corners still looks decent at evens while Spurs -2.5 in that handicap pays 6/4.

THE Premier League's two biggest underachievers face off as Tottenham Hotspur face Manchester United and the stakes are high for Ange Postecoglou with pressure cranking up on the Spurs boss.

The Aussie's boast that he always wins a trophy in his second season at a club is starting to look a bit hollow after Tottenham crashed out of the EFL Cup and FA Cup in the space of a few days.

With Spurs sitting 14th in the Premier League, their whole season now hinges on Europa League success but Postecoglou might not be in the dugout when they get round to playing their last-16 tie.

The 4-1 EFL Cup semi-final thrashing by Liverpool was followed by a 2-1 loss to Aston Villa in the FA Cup fourth round last weekend, with Mathys Tel's late consolation bringing up a bet for me after I'd tipped Villa to win with over 2.5 match goals.

Postecoglou remains the hot favourite for next Premier League manager to be sacked but he will fancy his chances of getting a morale-boosting win against a Manchester United side who have also been in a state of disarray.

Ruben Amorim has arguably made a team that flopped under Erik Ten Hag even worse, with the players at his disposal struggling to adapt to his 3-4-3 formation.

United may have won four of their last five in all competitions but they've failed to convince in any of those games and needed a controversial late goal to see off struggling Leicester City in the FA Cup last time out.

How the bookies view it: Spurs just have the edge

This is a tricky one to call with both teams in poor form but BoyleSports reckon home advantage just gives Tottenham the advantage. Spurs are 7/5 for the win, with Man United at 8/5 and the draw paying 13/5.

Recent head to head: Hex appeal for Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur have been a bit of a bogey team for Manchester United in recent seasons, with the Red Devils winning just one of the last six meetings. Postecoglou's side thrashed them 3-0 at Old Trafford in the Premier League earlier this season then knocked United out of the EFL Cup in a 4-3 thriller at home.

Players to watch: Son ready to shine again

Postecoglou will be looking to captain Son Heung-min to step up in his hour of need and the Korean sits on 13 goals for the season. He's 2/1 for anytime scorer, which looks a little overpriced given United have conceded seven times to Spurs this season.

Alejandro Garnacho has been Manchester United's brightest spark in recent weeks and that should earn him a starting slot here. The young winger also looks a little overpriced at 2/1 for a goal with BoyleSports while Bet365 price him at 6/5 to either score or assist.

Probable line-ups

Tottenham still remain ravaged by injuries, with Dominic Solanke, Timo Werner, Richarlison, Radu Dragusin, Brennan Johnson, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero missing out again, But keeper Guglielmo Vicario is available again while Destiny Udogie, Wilson Odobert could also make their comebacks.

Manchester United stopper Lisandro Martinez is out for the season while Luke Shaw, Mason Mount and Jonny Evans remain sidelined too.

Tottenham Hotspur: Vicario, Porro, Davies, Danso, Spence, Bergvall, Sar, Bentancur, Kuluevski, Tel, Son.

Manchester United: Onana, De Ligt, Maguire, Mazraoui, Dorgu, Dalot, Mainoo, Ugarte, Garnacho, Fernandes, Zirkzee.

Anything else catch the eye?

Armchair fans will be hoping for a repeat of that seven-goal thriller in the EFL Cup and it's a match that does promise a few goals with neither side solid at the back.

BTTS is just 4/11 at BoyleSports but combining it with no draw takes you to evens. I also fancy over 1.5 first-half goals at 23/20 with the same firm.

Both meetings have been fiery this season, with 14 yellows and one red across the two clashes. That makes over 52.5 booking points a decent option at 6/4 with Betfred while United skipper Bruno Fernandes is ?/? to pick up a card.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Elfsborg Prediction and Betting Tips

Description

Seeking to secure a place in the last 16 of the Europa League, Tottenham Hotspur entertain Elfsborg on Thursday night.

Ange Postecoglou’s side ended a three-game winless run in Europe’s secondary club competition with a 3-2 win away to Hoffenheim last week.

That victory means Spurs’ fate is in their own hands as they look to seal their passage to the round of 16.

However, Tottenham’s preparations for this clash were far from ideal, as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat at home to Leicester on Sunday, a setback that has ramped the pressure up on manager Postecoglou ahead of this fixture.

As for Elfsborg, they will arrive in the English capital occupying 20th place in the Europa League standings, meaning a defeat here could see them drop out of the all-important top 24.

However, the Swedish outfit have proved that they're no mugs, having already claimed the scalps of both Roma and Nice.

How the bookies view it: Light work for the Lilywhites

Despite winning just two of their last 10 matches across all competitions, Tottenham are heavy 1/7 favourites on Boylesports to take top honours on Thursday night.

Elfsborg enter this encounter as massive 12/1 underdogs with Boylesports, while a share of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium spoils is trading at 13/2 with the same firm.

Head to head: History book blank

Tottenham and Elfsborg will do battle for the first time ever on Thursday night. Spurs last squared off with Scandinavian opposition in this competition way back in 2013, comfortably taking care of Tromso both home and away.

Players to watch: More Maddison magic?

After scoring as well as providing an assist away at Hoffenheim last week, backing James Maddison to register another goal involvement on matchday eight could be the way to go at 4/5 on Bet 365.

Gustav Henriksson scored the only goal of the game during Elfsborg’s 1-0 win over Nice last time out. The Swedish defender is a towering 22/1 on Boylesports to get himself on the scoresheet again on Thursday night.

Predicted line-ups

As was the case against Leicester at the weekend, Spurs boss Postecoglou could be without as many as 10 players, with Richarlison the latest casulaty to check into the Tottenham treatment room.

The visitors will have to cope without Enzo Andren for this contest, but apart from that they have a clean bill of health.

Tottenham: Austin; Pedro Porro, Dragusin, Davies, Gray; Bentancur, Bergvall, Maddison; Kulusevski, Son, Moore

Elfsborg: Petterson; Henriksson, Holmen, Yegbe, Hult; Hedlund, B Zeneli, Ouma, Qasem; Holten, A Zeneli

Anything else catch the eye?

Elfsborg look a touch too big to score a minimum of one goal on Thursday night at even-money (1/1) on Boylesports.

The Swedish side have struck in six of their seven league phase outings so far, netting multiple goals away from home against both AZ and Galatasaray.

Thus, there is plenty of scope for Oscar Hiljemark’s side to land a blow on an injury-ravaged Tottenham team that concedes chances and goals by the bucketload.

Tottenham Hotspur will be targeting a much-needed victory in the Premier League when they play host to Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have tumbled down to 15th place in the top-flight standings following a run of six games without a victory.

However, the Spurs boss did ease the pressure that has been mounting on his shoulders with a 3-2 win away at Hoffenheim in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

The Tottenham chief will be hoping that victory can act as a springboard for further success when Leicester come to town this weekend.

The Foxes’ relegation fears have heightened following a 2-0 defeat at home to Fulham last weekend.

That latest body blow means Ruud van Nistelrooy’s 19th-placed side have now lost each of their last seven Premier League matches.

How the bookies view it: Spurs to march to win

Despite failing to win each of their last six Premier League matches, Tottenham are heavy 4/9 favourites on Boylesports.

Leicester City arrive in the capital as lofty 4/1 underdogs on Boylesports, while the draw is also considered unlikely at 15/4 with the same firm.

Head to head: Tottenham tend to triumph

Tottenham have taken top honours from 10 of the last 16 Premier League meetings between the pair, including each of the last two at this venue. However, it is worth noting that the two teams played out a 1-1 draw during the opening weekend of the campaign.

Players to watch: Dejan to do damage?

Dejan Kulusevski has been one of Spurs’ standout performers this season. With 17 goal involvements across his 34 appearances in all competitions this season, the classy playmaker looks well placed to either score or to provide an assist against Leicester on Sunday at 19/20 (UniBet).

Jamie Vardy notched for Leicester during August’s reverse fixture. The Foxes captain is as big as 2/1 on Boylesports for an anytime strike at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Predicted line-ups

A lengthy injury list means Tottenham could be without as many as 10 players on Sunday. However, Spurs boss Postecoglou will be able to welcome back Antonin Kinsky, Djed Spence and Sergio Reguilon, all of whom were ineligible in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Leicester again look set to be without injured trio Abdul Fatawu, Ricardo Pereira and Wilfred Ndidi, however new recruit Woyo Coulibaly could be in line to make his debut.

Tottenham: Kinsky; Pedro Porro, Dragusin, Gray, Spence; Bergvall, Sarr, Maddison; Kulusevski, Solanke, Son

Leicester: Stolarczyk; Justin, Faes, Vestergaard, Kristiansen; Winks, Soumare; Ayew, Buonanotte, McAteer; Vardy

Anything else catch the eye?

With Tottenham too short to side with at the above-mentioned price, I'll instead partner up a home win alongside over 2.5 goals at 5/6 on Boylesports.

This bet would have proven profitable in each of Spurs' seven Premier League victories this term to date.

Furthermore, this would have also been the correct selection in a sizable 11 of Leicester 14 top-flight losses this season so far.

David Moyes' Everton homecoming didn't go to plan in midweek but he has another chance to pick up three precious Premier League points when struggling Tottenham Hotspur come calling.

The Scot started his second reign at Goodison with a 1-0 loss to Aston Villa on Wednesday night, a result that brought up one of our Super Singles on a productive night of tipping.

A lack of firepower cost the Toffees again, with Moyes admitting he couldn't wave a magic wand and suddenly turn a side that had been struggling for goals under Sean Dyche into a free-scoring unit.

While Moyes may not be a magician, Ange Postecoglou could soon be doing a disappearing act if results don't pick up at Spurs, with his injury-hit side in freefall.

A 2-1 derby loss to Arsenal in midweek, which saw Slips Tips agonisingly miss out on a 13/2 winner when Gabriel's header was ruled as an own goal by Dominic Solanke, was their 11 Premier League defeat of the season.

Tottenham are just eight points clear of the drop zone and pressure will intensify on the Australian if they crash to another defeat against the Toffees.

How the bookies view it: Spurs by a nose

This is a tricky one to call, with Tottenham being so inconsistent this season and Everton getting a lift from Moyes' return. That's reflected in the odds, with Spurs only marginal favourites at 7/5 with BoyleSports and Everton priced at 7/4. The draw will be popular with punters and that pays 23/10.

Recent head to head: Sticky spell for the Toffees

Spurs have a good recent record in this fixture, going eight unbeaten against Everton since losing 5-4 at Goodison in an FA Cup thriller in 2021. The four meetings on Merseyside since then have all ended in draws but Tottenham battered the Toffees 4-0 in London earlier this season.

Players to watch: Dejan the main man

While Tottenham have been maddeningly inconsistent this season, Dejan Kulusevski has regularly chipped in with moments of magic. The Swede is in the best form of his Spurs career and looks overpriced at 3/1 for anytime scorer. The odds are a bigger for an assist at 4/1 with Bet365.

Everton find themselves in the familiar position of hoping Dominic Calvert-Lewin can steer clear of injuries and get back up to speed again. The striker was fit enough to start in midweek on his comeback and is 2/1 for a goal here.

Probable line-ups

Although Calvert Lewin and James Garner are back, Everton still have a lengthy injury list with Dwight McNeill, Armando Broja, Tim Iroegbunam, Seamus Coleman and Youssef Chermiti ruled out.

Postecoglou is still missing most of his backline, with Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Ben Davies, Destiny Udogie and Gugilelmo Vicario missing out. They also have issues in attack with Timo Werner joining Wilson Odobert on the sidelines but Richarlison is back in contention.

Everton: Pickford, Patterson, Mykolenko, Branthwaite, Tarkowski, Gueye, Doucoure, Mangala, Harrison, Ndiaye, Calvert-Lewin.

Tottenham: Kinsky, Porro, Reguillon, Gray, Dragusin, Bissouma, Sarr, Maddison, Kulusevski, Son, Solanke.

Anything else catch the eye?

Moyes' teams are usually pretty potent on the counter attack so they could get some joy against a Spurs defence that always offers chances on the break. It bodes well for action at both ends but BTTS is just 1/2 at BoyleSports, although adding on over 2.5 goals boosts the odds to 20/23. For a slightly bigger price, combining BTTS and no draw pays 13/10.

Tottenham are always good value for corners and Everton could rack up a few as well with a fired-up Goodison crowd roaring them on. That makes over 11.5 corners appealing at 20/21 while over 5.5 first-half flag kicks pays evens.

This match could be pretty fiery with both teams desperate for a win so it could be a busy day for the ref. Over 52.5. booking points pays 6/4 at Betfair while Bet365 are offering 5/6 on both teams picking up two or more cards.

Oriel Mangala should be at the heart of the midfield battle and the Everton man is 13/5 to go in the book,

Liverpool are still on course to defend their EFL Cup title as they face Tottenham Hotspur in the semi-final first leg on Wednesday. There have been goals in recent meetings and with both teams looking unconvincing at the back lately, a thrilling contest is expected.

A 4-3 victory over Manchester United in the last round earned Tottenham Hotspur a place in Wednesday’s semi-final clash. However, that was the last time Ange Postecoglu’s men earned a victory as they are without a win in their last four matches and were beaten 2-1 by Newcastle United in the Premier League last weekend.

That result brings Tottenham’s struggling defence to attention as they have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five matches in all competitions. There have also been second half goals for both teams in four of their last six home fixtures in all competitions.

Goals from Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliot were enough to give Liverpool a 2-1 victory over Southampton in the previous round of the competition. The Reds are still the team to beat in the topflight this season as they remain top of the Premier League while maintaining their challenge in other competitions.

Having begun the season by being disciplined at the back, Liverpool have struggled defensively lately, failing to keep a clean sheet in four of their last five matches. Their matches also take a while to get going as there have been more goals after the break in five of their last seven away matches in all competitions.

How the bookies view it: Reds with the edge

Liverpool have the upper hand among the bookies and are priced at 11/20 by BoyleSports to claim the win. A victory for Tottenham is valued at 14/5 while BoyleSports are also offering odds of 7/3 for a draw.

Head to head: Liverpool on top

Liverpool have an 82-44 edge with 42 draws from 168 previous matches against Tottenham. The Reds have won three of the last four meetings and ran out 6-3 winners when both teams met at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League in December.

Players to watch: Eyes on Gakpo

Cody Gakpo is in good form for Liverpool at the moment and has scored in his last three matches in all competitions. The forward has also been on target in two of the last three matches against Tottenham and is priced at 13/8 to find the net on Wednesday.

Dominic Solanke netted a brace for Tottenham Hotspur in the previous round and could be worth keeping an eye on. The striker has four goals in his last five matches in all competitions and is valued at 2/1 by BoyleSports to get on the score sheet.

Probable line-ups

Son Heung-Min and James Maddison both made second half appearances in the defeat to Newcastle United and should return to the starting line-up on Wednesday. Radu Dragusin went off injured at Newcastle, which could see Archie Gray and Djed Spence partner at centre-back like they did in the second half.

Liverpool are likely to rotate their squad, with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Alisson Becker starting on the bench. Caoimhin Kelleher should continue his run in the EFL Cup while Diogo Jota, Harvey Elliott and Connor Bradley are also pushing to start.

Tottenham Hotspur: Austin, Reguillon, Spencer, Gray, Porro, Sarr, Bissouma, Son, Maddison, Kulusevski, Solanke

Liverpool: Kelleher, Tsimikas, Konate, Van Dijk, Bradley, Endo, Jones, Elliott, Gakpo, Jota, Nunez

Anything else catch the eye?

There have been over 3.5 goals in three of the last four matches between Tottenham and Liverpool and a repeat is priced at 8/11 with BoyleSports. Both teams have had second half goals in three of the last four meetings and a similar pattern is valued at 23/20 with BoyleSports.

With both teams likely to score after the break, it could be tipped as the highest scoring half at 5/6 with BoyleSports.

Tottenham Hotspur will be targeting a morale-boosting victory in the Premier League when they take on Newcastle United on Saturday lunchtime.

Ange Postecoglou’s side endured a difficult festive period, having picked up just one point from a possible nine.

Last time out, Spurs conceded a late equaliser when drawing 2-2 at home to Wolves, on an afternoon where our man Kevin Mac delivered a couple of winners.

That latest setback has seen Tottenham tumble down to 11th place in the top-flight standings ahead of their opening match of 2025 against Newcastle.

The Magpies, meanwhile, signed off for 2024 in style by storming to four Premier League wins in succession, most recently making light work of Man United with a 2-0 success at Old Trafford.

That four-game winning streak has seen Eddie Howe’s side haul themselves up to fifth position in the top-flight standings, just three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

How the bookies view it: Spurs slump to continue

Tottenham head into their latest home game as 2/1 outsiders on Boylesports, while a point apiece has been priced up at 11/4 with the same firm.

Seeking to make it five Premier League wins on the bounce, Newcastle arrive in the capital as 6/5 favourites with Boylesports.

Head to head: Tottenham tend to toil

Tottenham have crashed to defeat in four of their last five Premier League meetings with Newcastle. The Magpies ran out 2-1 winners when the two sides met at St James’ Park earlier in the season.

Players to watch: Isak in irresistible form

Alexander Isak has scored at least one goal in each of his last six Premier League outings for Newcastle. Thus, the Swedish sharpshooter stands out for a goal or an assist here at 4/5 on Bet 365.

Brennan Johnson banged in his 11th goal of the season for Tottenham last time out. The Welsh forward is as big as 5/2 on Boylesports for an anytime strike on Saturday afternoon.

Predicted line-ups

Djed Spence is available again after serving a one-game suspension against Wolves, however Spurs chief Postecoglou will again be without Ben Davies, Cristian Romero, Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, Richarlison and Wilson Odobert.

Kieran Trippier was forced off early against Man United with a hamstring injury, while Fabian Schar will serve a one-game suspension after collecting his fifth yellow card of the season at Old Trafford.

Tottenham: Forster; Porro, Gray, Doragusin, Udogie; Bentancur, Bissouma; Kulusevski, Maddison, Son; Solanke

Newcastle: Dubravka; Livramento, Kelly, Burn, Hall; Guimaraes, Tonali, Joelinton; J Murphy, Isak, Gordon

Anything else catch the eye?

Dejan Kulusevski has a real knack of winning fouls from the opposition, making him an attractive option to earn his team two or more fouls here at 9/5 on PaddyPower.

The classy Spurs playmaker is drawing a team-high average of 1.42 fouls per-game in the Premier League this season.

What’s more, Kulusevski has been fouled on multiple occasions in four of his last five top-flight outings, and there is plenty of scope for that trend to continue when the Toon Army come to town this weekend.

Ange Postecoglou desperately needs to start stringing some wins together as the Tottenham Hotspur boss heads into a new year and the pressure will crank up if his side fail to beat struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Spurs were spanked 6-3 by Liverpool in their last home game and that humbling loss summed up the folly of trying to go toe-to-toe with England's elite while having your keeper and most of your defence ruled out with injury.

Most fans are starting to lose faith in the Aussie and his side suffered another blow on Boxing Day as they lost 1-0 away to high-flying Nottingham Forest.

Postecoglou has shot up the odds for next Premier League boss to be sacked and it's hard to see him surviving unless results pick up dramatically in 2025.

Wolves have already made a managerial change and Vitor Pereira got off to the perfect start as his side romped to a 3-0 win at relegation rivals Leicester.

They followed that up by beating Manchester United 2-0 at home on Boxing Day, a game where two bets landed for me.

So Wolves head to London in high spirits and with Spurs decimated in defence they have a great chance to take another big step towards safety.

How the bookies view it: Struggling Spurs to get back on track

Despite their poor form, Tottenham Hotspur are BoyleSports' 11/20 hot favourites for a win with home advantage. Wolverhampton Wanderers are 15/4 outsiders and the draw pays 7/2.

Recent head to head: Maul too easy for Wolves

Wolves have a great recent record in this fixture, winning four of their last five meetings with Spurs. Both Premier League games ended in 2-1 victories for the Molineux men last term.

Players to watch: Solanke in hot form

While Spurs have been a shambles at the back, they're still scoring plenty of goals at the other end, with star striker Dominic Solanke in excellent form. The former Bournemouth hitman is 21/20 for anytime scorer here at BoyleSports.

Goncalo Guedes has been given a new lease of life by Pereira and netted in the win over Leicester. He should get another chance to shine here and is 7/2 for anytime scorer.

Probable line-ups

Tottenham have a crisis at the back after Djed Spence was sent off on Boxing Day and Radu Dragusin joined an injury list that already includes Ben Davies, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero and first-choice keeper Gugielmo Vicario. Forwards Richarlison and Wilson Odobert also remain out.

The threat of a ban still hangs over Wolves star Matheus Cunha, with the FA taking an age to rule on the ugly incident with a member of Ipswich's backroom staff. Yerson Mosquera, Enso Gonzalez, Boubacar Traore, Pablo Sarabia and Sasa Kalajdzic are injured while Mario Lemina is a doubt.

Tottenham Hotspur: Forster, Porro, Gray, Sarr, Udogie, Bissouma, Bentancur, Maddison, Kulusevski, Son, Solanke.

Wolverhampton Wanderers: Sa, Semedo, Ait-Nouri, Bueno, T Gomes, J Gomes, Andre, R Gomes, Strand-Larsen, Bellegarde, Guedes.

Anything else catch the eye?

A lot will depend on whether Cunha is missing for Wolves after he delivered a goal and an assist in the win over Manchester United. Even if the Brazilian isn't free to play, the Molineux men still look worth a punt in the double chance at 7/5 with BoyleSports, given Spurs will field a makeshift defence.

Goals are usually guaranteed with Postecoglou's side and BTTS pays just 2/5 here but you can boosts the odds to 5/6 by combining that with no draw.

Over 3.5 goals also appeals at 4/5 while backing over 1.5 first-half strikes pays 10/11 at BoyleSports.

Tottenham are usually pretty good value for corners and backing them for over 7.5 flag kicks here pays 21/20.

Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur will go toe-to-toe at Ibrox in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Both clubs have banked 10 points from their opening five league phase assignments, and are heavily fancied to progress to the knockout round.

Rangers took a huge step towards qualification with a resounding 4-1 win away at Nice on matchday five.

Philippe Clement’s side have since strung together a three-game winning run in the Scottish Premiership, most recently cruising to a 3-0 over Ross County, on an afternoon where our man Greg delivered a full house of winners in Dingwall.

As for Tottenham, they continue to endure an inconsistent, and at times, an erratic campaign under Ange Postecoglou.

The Spurs boss is coming under increasing pressure after his side suffered a second-half collapse when losing 4-3 to London rivals Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.

How the bookies view it: Tottenham to topple Teddy Bears

Tottenham are even-money (1/1) favourites on Kwiff to claim top honours at Ibrox on Thursday night. Given how convincingly Lyon won at this venue just a couple of months ago, Spurs merit support to follow suit at the above-mentioned odds.

Rangers are as big as 12/5 (Kwiff) to heap more misery on former Celtic boss Postecoglou, while an all square affair in Glasgow can be backed at 11/4 (Kwiff).

Head to head: History book thin

Thursday night’s showdown at Ibrox will represent a first competitive contest between the pair since a Cup Winners' Cup clash way back in season 1962-63.

The two clubs did cross paths in a friendly fixture back in 2022, with Spurs claiming a 2-1 victory on that occasion.

Players to watch: Hamza hot-streak to continue?

Hamza Igamane has hit four goals across his last four starts for Rangers in all competitions. The Moroccan forward is 23/10 on Kwiff to make the net bulge again on Thursday night.

Brennan Johnson is Tottenham’s leading marksman in the Europa League this season, with three strikes to his name thus far. The Spurs ace is 12/5 on Kwiff to grab another goal in Govan.

Predicted line-ups

With Ianis Hagi ineligible to feature for Rangers in the Europa League, Mohammed Diomande is expected to come back into the side on Thursday night. Defender Robin Propper could also be restored to the starting XI.

Tottenham will be without key defensive duo Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero, both of whom hobbled out of Sunday’s aforementioned 4-3 defeat to Chelsea.

Rangers: Butland; Tavernier, Souttar, Propper, Jefte; Barron, Raskin; Cerny, Diomande, Bajrami; Igamane

Tottenham: Forster; Porro, Dragusin, Gray, Udogie; Sarr, Bentancur, Maddison; Johnson, Solanke, Son

Anything else catch the eye?

Nicolas Raskin stands out to commit two or more fouls on Thursday night at even-money (1/1) on Bet 365.

The Belgian midfielder has given away multiple free-kicks in each of Rangers’ last three Europa League matches.

Raskin is likely to be up against Tottenham playmaker James Maddison, who has been fouled twice or more in three of his four continental outings this term to date.
