Tottenham Hotspur are leading the race to sign Southampton’s young talent Tyler Dibling in the summer transfer window.

Spurs have been monitoring his progress for a long time, and they could move for him in the summer, especially if the Saints go down to the Championship, which is a high possibility.

Southampton are rock bottom in the Premier League with just nine points, and they are dead cert to go down.

Tottenham have had a poor 2024/25 campaign, and Ange Postecoglou could delve into the market to bring some quality players of his choice.

Dibling is certain to leave the club if Southampton get relegated. He is out of contract in the summer of 2026, and several clubs are vying for his signature.

In England, Spurs could face competition from Newcastle and Aston Villa; both have made enquiries already. Bayern Munich are also interested in signing him.

Tyler Dibling would be a terrific signing for Tottenham

Dibling has been enjoying a terrific campaign for the Saints. The versatile attacking midfielder has made 15 starts in the Premier League, and a further eight appearances have come from the bench.

The youngster has scored two goals already, and his vast potential has not gone unnoticed.

Southampton slapped a price tag in excess of £50 million for Dibling, but Daniel Levy feels that the price will go down if Southampton get relegated.

Dibling is an “outstanding” talent who is enjoying a breakthrough campaign, and he would be a smart addition to Tottenham.

Southampton have been trying to tie him down on a new deal, but the 19-year-old is unhappy with the offer presented to him.

Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham are having a season to forget across the 2024/25 Premier League campaign, but thankfully for Spurs supporters, dreams of Europa League glory remain.

Spurs are set to host Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar in the English capital on Thursday evening as the Round of 16 kicks off, and though questions remain across a number of issues this term, the London outfit still can score goals on their day.

And maybe a little inspiration is needed if the club is to push on for major honours despite the domestic struggles, with Erik Lamela's stunner against Asteras Tripolis back in 2025 serving up just the tonic.

Capable of the magnificent on his day, the Argentine winger stunned the traveling side with a fantastic bit of skill during the club's 5-1 group stage win.

Maybe another magical moment is on the horizon for Spurs.

Spurs loan watch: Teenager shines in League Two | OneFootball

On Saturday afternoon, Tottenham Hotspur loanee George Abbott and his Notts County side were in League Two action, as they faced Fleetwood Town up in the North West.

As always, the Spurs youngster was named in the starting XI by Notts manager Stuart Maynard — his 26th League Two start of the season, and 28th across all competitions — with it being his 30th overall appearance for the club.

How things went for George Abbott and Notts County in League Two

After just 16 minutes of the game, the Magpies managed to spring a quick counter, leading to Abbott being through on goal. From there, the teenager kept his composure despite pressure from defenders, firing an effort past the goalkeeper from just inside the box.

That gave Notts the lead until midway through the second half, when Fleetwood equalised from the spot. Things would go from bad to worse just two minutes later, when the hosts took the lead — turning the game completely on its head in a three minute spell.

Then, with a minute of normal time remaining — Abbott was found inside the box with a scooped pass. From there, the midfielder drilled a ball across goal, where Notts striker Alassana Jatta was on hand to tap the ball home, and make the game all square again.

That was how it ended, a 2-2 draw for Abbott’s side. Not a disaster result, but fairly frustrating all the same — particularly given the high standards they have set so far this season.

If there was any player that deserved to have been on the winning side, it was most certainly Abbott. During the 90 minutes, he recorded; 76 touches, four chances created, two big chances created, four shots, one foul drawn, two clearances, one blocked shot, three interceptions, and a tackle — all on top of a goal and an assist.

After this return, the 19-year old now recorded four goals and four assists from a central midfield role in League Two. He has also registered five big chances created, 1.6 interceptions per game, and 2.4 tackles per game. He does a bit of everything.

As for his side, despite this draw they remain fourth in League Two, with 58 points from 33 games — six points above eighth place, with vastly superior goal difference. They are three points behind third placed Doncaster Rovers, with a game in hand and comfortably better goal difference.

Next up is a home game against Barrow on Tuesday evening, for a 19:45 GMT kick off. As implied above, they could go into the automatic promotion spots should they pick up all three points.

Tottenham Target Lamine Camara as Potential Bissouma Replacement | OneFootball

Lamine Camara: Tottenham’s New Midfield Target to Reinforce Postecoglou’s Squad

Tottenham Hotspur’s search for new recruits to bolster their midfield has intensified, with reports linking the club to the highly-rated Lamine Camara. The 21-year-old Monaco midfielder has caught the attention of not just Spurs, but also several Premier League heavyweights, including Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea. As Tottenham look to bounce back from a challenging season, adding quality players like Camara could be vital for their long-term ambitions under manager Ange Postecoglou.

Camara’s Impressive Rise at Monaco

Lamine Camara’s rise in French football has been nothing short of impressive. After making the move from FC Metz to AS Monaco in July 2024, he wasted no time in establishing himself as one of the most promising midfielders in Ligue 1. Playing primarily in a defensive midfield role, Camara has still managed to score twice and contribute six assists in 31 appearances across all competitions. His ability to influence the game from a deeper position has led to comparisons with some of the best African talents in recent years.

OneFootball Videos

While Camara’s performances in Ligue 1 have been notable, it is his displays in the Champions League that have truly caught the eye. Despite Monaco’s inability to progress to the last 16, Camara’s efforts on the European stage demonstrated his capability at the highest level of club football. The 23-cap Senegal international has been praised for his vision, passing range, and ability to disrupt opposition attacks, making him a highly sought-after talent.

Tottenham’s Midfield Woes and Bissouma’s Likely Departure

Tottenham’s midfield has been a weak link this season, despite being one of the positions least affected by injury. Yves Bissouma, once a key signing for Spurs, has struggled to make the defensive midfield role his own, leading to speculation that he may be offloaded in the upcoming transfer window. If Bissouma does leave, the addition of a player like Camara could be the perfect solution to Spurs’ midfield issues.

Camara’s versatility sets him apart from Bissouma, who has failed to deliver consistent performances in the engine room. While Bissouma has been largely restricted to a defensive role, Camara has shown he can play further up the pitch, offering more attacking contributions as evidenced by his six assists this season. This flexibility makes him an ideal fit for Postecoglou’s system, which values dynamic and multifunctional players.

Transfer Battle: Tottenham Faces Strong Competition

According to TBR Football, Tottenham are not alone in their pursuit of Lamine Camara. The Senegalese midfielder has garnered interest from several top clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea. However, despite the competition, Spurs are firmly in the mix, and they may well be one of the most serious contenders to secure his services.

Monaco, however, are in no rush to sell Camara after just one season, and their resolve will likely be tested depending on the size of the bids received. Although the French club has reportedly set a relatively modest price tag for Camara, believed to be around €65 million (£53 million), they are unlikely to part with their prized asset unless an offer they deem acceptable comes in.

Camara’s Future at Spurs: A Strategic Move

Lamine Camara represents a highly strategic move for Tottenham. With a midfield that lacks the consistency and creativity needed to challenge for top honours, the signing of a player like Camara could provide the spark that Spurs have been missing. His ability to play in multiple roles and contribute both defensively and offensively makes him a perfect fit for Postecoglou’s tactical setup.

Photo: IMAGO

For Tottenham, the pursuit of Camara is part of a broader strategy to rebuild their squad after a difficult season. Whether or not they are able to secure his signature remains to be seen, but it is clear that the addition of a talented player like Camara would go a long way in strengthening their midfield and giving them more options heading into the next campaign.

Our View – EPL Index Analysis

The prospect of signing Lamine Camara is an exciting one. Tottenham’s midfield has struggled for balance and consistency this season, with Yves Bissouma not quite living up to expectations. Camara’s ability to play in multiple roles and contribute both defensively and offensively could provide the solution Spurs need. His flexibility and vision on the ball would undoubtedly benefit Ange Postecoglou’s system, which relies on players being versatile and quick-thinking.

However, competition for Camara’s signature will be fierce. Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea are all clubs that can offer him Champions League football and financial incentives that Tottenham may struggle to match. Still, if Spurs can secure Camara, it would be a fantastic signing that would strengthen their midfield and set them up for a more competitive season next year.

Ultimately, whether or not Spurs can land Camara will depend on the offers that are made and the direction the club wants to take. If they want to challenge at the top, securing a player of Camara’s calibre could be the perfect next step.

Man City return to winning ways in the league

Scorers: Miedema 11', Fujino 78'; England 32'

Manchester City battled to a 2-1 away at Tottenham, with Aoba Fujino stealing the show.

The first came when Fujino floated in a cross from the right-hand side, for Vivianne Miedema to use her height well to power home a header.

Yet it would not all be plain sailing for Gareth Taylors side, as Tottenham found the equaliser when Olivia Holdt picked out Bethany England inside the box and the striker powered her finish into the top corner.

Man City battled back and with just over 10 minutes of normal time remaining, Fujino went from provider to goal scorer as she ran towards goal, controlling the ball with her right foot inside the box, before finishing with her left.

The result leaves Man City five points behind rivals Manchester United..

Managerless Liverpool see off Palace

Scorers: Matthews 10'

Both of these sides parted ways with their respective managers in midweek, but it was Liverpool who edged a 1-0 victory.

The Reds struck first following a goalmouth scramble from a corner, with Jasmine Matthews finally managing to get the ball over the line with a poacher's finish.

That win puts Crystal Palace in further trouble at the bottom of the table, and sees Liverpool move up to 6th position.

Hayashi completes comprehensive win for Everton

Scorers: Mjelde 16', Hayashi 59'

It was a good day for Everton as they ran out 2-0 winners at Villa Park.

A tenacious attack from Everton saw Janaury signing Maren Mjelde score her first for the Toffees, scooping her finish over goalkeeper Sabrina D'Angelo.

Honoka Hayashi – fresh from a win at the SheBelieves cup with Japan – doubled Everton's lead she span inside the six-yard box and fired the ball in off the crossbar.

That was Everton's fourth win of the season, leaving them in eighth place, while Aston Villa remain second from bottom in the table.

Brighton v Chelsea

Scorers: Baltimore 16'; Olislagers 22', Losada 42'

Chelsea took the lead after some sublime work from Lauren James on the wing led to a stunning finish on the volley from Sandy Baltimore.

But Brighton were not willing to let the league leaders roll them over, and Marisa Olislagers put her side level with a difficult strike from a tight angle.

Still to come...

Man Utd first half show sees off Leicester

Scorers: Malard 19', Galton 45+2'

Manchester United romped to their seventh consecutive league win with a 2-0 victory over Leicester City.

It didn't take the Reds long to make the breakthrough, as Ella Toone played a perfect through-ball to Melvine Malard, who beat her defender for pace, leaving her one-on-one with the goalkeeper. The France international kept her composure and delivered an exquisite finish with the outside of her boot to beat the onrushing Janina Leitzig.

Marc Skinner's side delivered a hammer blow in added time at the end of the first half when Malard turned provider, playing a killer through-ball to Leah Galton, who made no mistake with her finish.

That win consolidate's Man Utd's position in second place in the table, ahead of their FA Cup quarter-final against Sunderland next weekend, while the Foxes remain in trouble at the bottom of the league with just three wins from 15 games.

There are two WSL games in midweek to look forward to, as Manchester City travel to West Ham and Chelsea host Leicester City.

Tottenham Hotspur Keeping Tabs On This Exciting Serie A Talent: Why They Must Snap Up Him In Summer | OneFootball

If a recent report from the Spanish outlet Fichajes is believed to be true, Tottenham Hotspur are keeping close eyes on Como sensation Nico Paz ahead of a potential summer transfer. But they are not alone in the hunt with Premier League rivals Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City also monitoring his progress in Serie A.

The 20-year-old midfield attacker spent his youth years at CD San Juan and Tenerife before joining the esteemed academy ranks of Real Madrid. He impressed for their reserves and was eventually handed a senior status last season. He made 8 first-team appearances under Carlo Ancelotti in all competitions, yet they sanctioned a €6m move to Como given no immediate future at Bernabeu. Brahim Díaz and Arda Güler are ahead of Paz in the pecking order, and the newly-promoted Italian outfit snapped him up late in the summer window.

The Spain-born Argentina international has impressed with 6 goals and 5 assists in 24 league outings [stats via Transfermarket]. I Lariani, under Cesc Fabregas, are ambitious enough to retain the top-flight status but, at the same time, could lose their prized asset amid interest from English football. While the youngster would love to return to his boyhood club, it remains to be seen whether the Madrid hotshots trigger the buy-back clause before next season.

COMO, ITALY – FEBRUARY 23: Nico Paz of Como 1907 competes for the ball with Stanislav Lobotka of SSC Napoli during the Serie A match between Como 1907 and SSC Napoli at Stadio G. Sinigaglia on February 23, 2025 in Como, Italy. (Photo by Marco Luzzani/Getty Images)

Spurs are having a dreadful campaign, vastly due to injuries across the pitch. Ange Postecoglou has not been relieved from his duties, but the pressure would be immense on the Aussie boss if the Lilywhites remain stuck at 13th in the Premier League standings.

While they have James Maddison who is more experienced and holds a similar profile as Paz, form and fitness woes have prevented the Three Lions star from living up to the expectations in North London. He completed a £40m transfer from Leicester City a couple of summers back but has since struggled to fit in Postecoglou’s intense style of play. The manager has switched to a 4-3-3, and the Englishman, predominantly a ‘number 10’, has yet to settle in as a left-sided central midfielder.

While Maddison should still be around and exhibit his mastery high up the pitch, Paz’s flexibility could benefit Tottenham in the long run. The ex-Madrid prospect could be deployed in various roles, also, his asking fee and wage demands would fall well within the ENIC Group and Daniel Levy’s salary structure. Spurs have already invested in promising young talents Mathys Tel, Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall, and the Como sensation might as well become a part of the team’s spine if a transfer takes place in due time.
