Tottenham Hotspur have had a very mixed season, to put it mildly, with the club and fans’ hopes now resting solely on the Europa League.
Spurs have been dismal in the Premier League this season and there’s a good chance they’ll finish in the bottom five, which would be unacceptable for a club of their stature.
As a result, Ange Postecoglou is coming under increasing pressure at Tottenham, and the club is said to already be looking at potential replacements.
It has been reported that some people at Tottenham are fans of Scott Parker as a potential successor to Postecoglou.
Scott Parker, who played for Tottenham 63 times, has led Burnley to promotion and will be eager to revive his reputation in the Premier League next season.
Clarets captain Josh Brownhill could not sing the Spurs target’s praises highly enough in a recent interview.
Josh Brownhill says Tottenham target Scott Parker is ‘probably the best manager’ he’s ever had
Brownhill spoke about Parker on the I Had Trials Once podcast, and he described the Tottenham target as “probably the best manager” he’s had.
“You’ve gone from Vinny who was tactically very, very good to Scott who is also very good tactically, but he’s a very good motivator,” said Brownhill.
“I haven’t seen anything like it, the videos he puts on, what it means, clips of films and putting it all on a montage. It really motivates everyone.
“I can only go off me and my experience with these managers and I think I work best when it’s like this, when I have a good relationship with someone who I can talk to.
“Vincent Kompany probably didn’t have a relationship with the players. Same with Dyche. Maybe he did with a few of the older ones, but for me I didn’t have much of a personal relationship.
“But the gaffer now, we’ve got a really good relationship. He’s always asking questions of the leadership group, how does it feel, how’s this, it’s so personal and you feel valued a lot.
“For me, he’s probably the best manager I’ve had. They all have their own different ways, but what I need as a player, I think he’s got that down to a tee so I really enjoy playing for him.”
What Pep Guardiola and Sir Alex Ferguson have said about Scott Parker
Parker’s spells at Fulham and Bournemouth didn’t end particularly well, but he has worked hard to get Burnley back into the Premier League at the first time of asking.
Parker has also been praised by two of the best Premier League managers in history – Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola and Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson.
Guardiola previously described Parker as an “incredibly good” manager who got his Fulham side playing “incredibly well”.
Likewise, Ferguson had been impressed by Parker’s work at Fulham.
Ferguson said: “I think the boy Parker at Fulham has done a great job because I’ve watched them a lot and they keep playing their football.
“They don’t change, they don’t panic, they keep to the beliefs of their manager.”
