Tottenham Hotspur could see one of their star defenders depart in the summer transfer window, according to reports - with the club thought to be open to a potential exit for Pedro Porro in order to free up funds to strengthen elsewhere.

Cristian Romero has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months and GMS sources previously stated that Tottenham would be open to selling the Argentine for the right price, amid a lack of form - but it could be a double defensive exit in north London with reports suggesting that Porro could fall under similar treatment by Ange Postecoglou.

Report: Tottenham Hotspur 'Open' to Selling Pedro Porro

The Spanish defender has been one of Spurs' brighter performers

The report by TBR Football states that Tottenham would consider selling Pedro Porro for the 'right price' in the summer transfer window.

He's been a constant for Postecoglou this season, scoring three goals and registering eight assists from right-back, being one of the club's best-performing players throughout what has been, without doubt, a treacherous campaign to say the least under the Australian gaffer in the Premier League.

However, with Djed Spence performing well at left-back when covering for the injured Destiny Udogie, that has seen Porro's position come under threat from the Englishman and now Porro could depart to make way for the former Nottingham Forest star.

As a result, Spurs would 'entertain' the possibility of selling Porro for over £50million in the summer, with Tottenham looking at their budgets, and that would see Spence come into their ranks whilst freeing up funds to land other players.

Tottenham have been wise with financial agreements but are always wary of Profit and Sustainability Rules, which could see Porro emerge as an option to sell. Real Madrid were linked, but Trent Alexander-Arnold's seemingly imminent move to the Bernabeu has nipped that in the bud - thought Manchester City are thought to be keeping tabs on his progress and need a new right-back to replace Kyle Walker in the summer.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Pedro Porro has eight caps for Spain's national team.

Porro formerly played for City in his youth, but he was sold to Sporting Lisbon after failing to make the grade - and if they don't go in for him, Juventus and Bayern Munich could also see him as an option.
