Southampton youngster Tyler Dibling could be on his way to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed on our Market Madness podcast - with Daniel Levy's men thought to be leading the race for his signature.
Dibling is contracted at St. Mary's until 2027, and especially with their relegation to the Championship, it's typically a crunch time for teams to decide whether to keep their players on and risk them not renewing a contract - or selling them to optimise profits in the transfer market.
Sources: Tottenham 'Leading Race' for Tyler Dibling
The Southampton star is surely expected to move this summer
The bottom line is that Southampton have had relegation confirmed, and so it will be difficult for the Saints to keep Dibling in the Championship, especially given that he's been arguably their most impressive player in the Premier League this season.
Sources have revealed that their £100million valuation is a huge statement to any interested club that they don't wish to sell the winger - but having not played as much and thus having had less of an impact under Ivan Juric than he did with former boss Russell Martin, the reality is that it will be tough to keep Dibling on their books.
As a result, Tottenham are leading the race for the youngster at this stage. Their interest was apparent in January, and external reports previously confirmed that they'd had a secret turned down in January of around £35million.
Dibling could be keen on the move to Tottenham, given that London is relatively close to Southampton - whilst Newcastle United, Manchester City and Manchester United could also be in the race, with Red Devils chiefs Dan Ashworth and Jason Wilcox knowing him from their times at Newcastle and Southampton respectively.
Spurs think that the £100million price tag will be more than halved, with transfer chiefs believing that £40million to £45million could get a deal done for the youngster - though under whoever their new manager will be, Southampton will be hoping that Dibling could change his mind.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Tyler Dibling has 32 youth appearances and five goals for England.
RB Leipzig are also one to watch, as are Chelsea - but having had a failed spell at the Blues in 2022, Dibling may want to stay close to the south coast. That effectively rules out a return to Cobham and a move to Germany - which allows Tottenham to lead the race for his signature.
