Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has undergone surgery after suffering a fractured ankle during the 4-0 victory against Manchester City at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
While the Italian played the full 90 minutes of the win, Spurs have since announced in a statement that he suffered an injury during the game.
Vicario underwent treatment in the first half, and despite re-emerging from the tunnel limping after half-time, went on to make three second-half saves.

Spurs have not put a timescale on the injury, adding that the 28-year-old will be assessed by the club’s medical staff to determine when he can return to first-team proceedings.
Spurs said in a statement on Monday: "We can confirm that Guglielmo Vicario has today undergone surgery for a fracture of his right ankle.
"Guglielmo will be assessed by our medical staff to determine when he can return to training. We're all behind you, Vic."
Vicario has not missed a minute of Premier League football since moving to north London from Empoli last summer.
He played in all 38 Premier League games last term and each of Spurs' 12 league encounters this season.
