Liverpool have won the Premier League title after they thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 at Anfield on Sunday evening. The two sides met with just a point necessary for Arne Slot's men to mathematically confirm their title success, but they didn't hold back and instead annihilated Ange Postecoglou's men. Goals from Luis Diaz, Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah and an own goal from Destiny Udogie cancelled out an early header from Dominic Solanke.

After falling behind early, it looked as though the Reds' title celebrations were going to have to wait, but they weren't trailing for long and Diaz equalised just four minutes after Solanke's opener. From there, the Spurs' floodgates opened and both Mac Allister and Gakpo found the back of the net before the first half had even ended.

The second half offered more of the same and the Reds extended their lead with a Salah strike and then Udogie accidentally put the ball past his own goalkeeper to add to Tottenham's misery in what was a really poor showing for Postecoglou's side. It was an emphatic way for Liverpool to confirm their Premier League title triumph and a fitting way to do so after such an impressive season under Slot.

Match Highlights

Liverpool Player Ratings

GK: Alisson - 6/10

Should have done better with Solanke's opener. Was solid enough after that.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold - 6/10

Wasn't asked to do too much on the flank as his side dominated the majority of the contest.

CB: Ibrahima Konate - 6/10

The defender was rarely asked to do anything at all, but rose to the occasion whenever he was called upon.

CB: Virgil van Dijk - 7/10

Was rock solid at the back as he so often is. Also acted as an excellent outlet going forward and was superb with his long balls.

LB: Andy Robertson - 6/10

It was a quiet afternoon for the Scot, who very rarely had anything of note to do.

CM: Ryan Gravenberch - 7/10

Set up the Reds' second of the game and did a fine job in the middle of the park. Alongside Mac Allister, they dominated the midfield.

CM: Alexis Mac Allister - 9/10 (Player of the match)

Completed Liverpool's comeback and sealed their historic 20th league title triumph. He rarely put a foot wrong and did an excellent job creating chances for his teammates as well as himself.

AM: Dominik Szoboszlai - 7/10

Timed his run to perfection to set Luis Diaz up for Liverpool's equaliser.

RW: Mohamed Salah - 8/10

After a quiet first half, he came to life after the interval and bagged Liverpool's fourth goal of the game and their final strike before they confirmed their Premier League title win. There was no one more fitting for the final strike.

ST: Luis Diaz - 7/10

Got Liverpool back on level terms almost immediately. Looked very lively and made some very encouraging runs through the middle.

LW: Cody Gakpo - 8/10

Showed tremendous skill and composure to place the ball into the left side of Vicario's goal and score the Reds' third. Even without the goal, though, it was a fine afternoon for the Dutchman who caused Spurs all sorts of issues.

SUB: Curtis Jones - 6/10

Didn't do much after coming on, but admittedly, he didn't have to. The result and the season was already wrapped up.

SUB: Diogo Jota - 6/10

Subbed on with the win already in the bag and didn't have to break a sweat throughout his cameo.

SUB: Harvey Elliot - N/A

Didn't do much after coming on.

SUB: Wataru Endo - N/A

Didn't do much after coming on.

SUB: Darwin Nunez - N/A

Introduced late and didn't have time to do anything of note.

Tottenham Hotspur Player Ratings

GK: Guglielmo Vicario - 4/10

It was a tough day in between the sticks for the usually impressive Vicario.

RB: Djed Spence - 4/10

Was run all over by Liverpool's left-hand side and struggled to keep up with them.

CB: Kevin Danso - 5/10

Struggled to contain Liverpool's attack throughout. Was often chasing shadows.

CB: Ben Davies - 5/10

Playing out of his natural position, Davies had a nightmare of an afternoon trying to keep Liverpool's explosive forwards quiet.

LB: Destiny Udogie - 4/10

Like the rest of the Spurs backline, it was a tough game from Udogie and he couldn't find an answer to dealing with Liverpool. Ended up scoring an own goal to add to his misery.

CM: Lucas Bergvall - 5/10

Couldn't really get going against Liverpool and was often chasing shadows in the midfield.

CM: Archie Gray - 4/10

Very wasteful and sloppy in possession at times. Was dragged off at half-time.

CM: James Maddison - 6/10

Floated a wonderful cross into the box from the corner spot to find Solanke who gave Spurs the lead. Didn't have much chance to do anything else, though, and he was subbed off at half-time.

RW: Brennan Johnson - 6/10

Wasn't given the chance to do too much at all on the right side.

ST: Dominic Solanke - 7/10

Nodded his side in front from a corner in the 12th minute.

LW: Mathys Tel - 5/10

Gave the ball away in a crucial area with a careless pass and it led to Mac Allister's scorching effort that gave Liverpool the lead.

SUB: Pape Matar Sarr - 6/10

Brought on at half-time to try and turn the tide for Spurs, but failed to make much of an impact on the game as Liverpool continued to run away with it.

SUB: Dejan Kulusevski - 5/10

Didn't provide the energy or spark in Spurs' attack that Postecoglou was looking for when he brought him into the fold at the start of the second half.

SUB: Wilson Odobert - 5/10

Was subbed into the game with his side already losing 4-1 and was there mostly for damage control. Within a minute, though, they conceded a fifth.

SUB: Richarlison - 5/10

Subbed on just before his side went 5-1 down and didn't have the chance to do much of note after.
