Tottenham must look to part ways with Yves Bissouma, with it becoming apparent that the midfielder is no longer good enough for the club.

Bissouma was left as an unused substitute in Spurs' Premier League clash with Liverpool on Sunday, and it was the third consecutive record of such an occurrence. He has started just three times in the last 14 matches, was hooked off during the half-time break in two of those outings, and was not even afforded a cameo appearance in eight of the other 11 matches.

It is evident boss Ange Postecoglou no longer trusts Bissouma in his starting eleven, and he must be sold as part of the squad rebuild this summer.

Tottenham Must Sell Out-of-Favor Midfielder Bissouma

Postecoglou no longer trusts the 28-year-old

The signing of Bissouma from Brighton in 2022 was highly anticipated by those at Tottenham, given the player had already made waves in the Premier League with the Seagulls.

However, despite a promising start to his career in North London, the Mali international has barely had a look-in to the first-team this season, only starting 15 league games.

Even when he has touched the pitch, fans and critics have been left frustrated by his inconsistency, including Alasdair Gold, who dubbed Bissouma "dreadful" and "panicked" after his display against Fulham in mid-March.

Fortunately, Tottenham have a strong core of young midfield talent, including Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray and Pape Sarr, who have already shown promising signs in their respective careers with the Lilywhites. It means Spurs can afford to get rid of Bissouma and his £100,000-per-week wage without having to stress about finding a viable replacement.

There may be suitors for Bissouma, despite his abysmal season. Aston Villa could make a surprise move this summer, while Crystal Palace were also eyeing his signature, according to GIVEMESPORT sources.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham are able to recoup much of the £30 million they paid for his services initially, but it is paramount they negotiate a sale anyway as part of their summer squad rebuild.
