Amidst reports that Tottenham Hotspur are plotting a move for a young EFL starlet, who only recently made his senior debut for his club, a pundit has now advised the player to snub Spurs’ interest and remain where he is.
The Tottenham hierarchy will undoubtedly be very happy with the impact that Archie Gray has made in his first season at the club following his switch from Leeds last summer.
It emerged last week that Spurs are now plotting to raid Elland Road for Archie’s younger brother, Harry Gray, who made his senior debut for Daniel Farke’s men in their 6-0 trashing of Stoke City last week.
The update claimed that even though Arsenal had also expressed an interest in the 16-year-old striker, Tottenham Hotspur are favourites to land him this summer.
Pundit tells Harry Gray not to rush into Tottenham transfer
EFL pundit Don Goodman believes that Tottenham will likely be joined by a whole host of Premier League clubs in the race for Harry Gray, admitting that he has been hearing special things about the young forward.
However, Goodman insisted that at this stage of his career, the teenager’s priority should be to get regular game time, which is why he advised him to remain at Leeds.
When asked about Tottenham’s interest in Harry Gray, the pundit told Football League World: “Personally, I don’t think Spurs are going to be on their own when it comes to high-end clubs scouting Harry Gray.

“The reports coming out of Elland Road are sensational, in that this could be a very special talent, maybe even more so than his brother Archie, which would be an incredible feat.
“At the moment though, it’s about playing football week in, week out and learning your trade. I think if Spurs did sign him, you would imagine it would be possible that they would loan him back to Leeds or a team where he would play regular first-team football.
“At that age, you need a slow, considered introduction to football, where you’re not overworked, but you get plenty of opportunities at first-team level. That, for me, would be the best thing for him.”
Could Spurs use Manor Solomon to push through Harry Gray deal?
Tottenham may have one ace up their sleeve in the negotiations for Harry Gray, as it has been widely reported that Leeds want to secure Manor Solomon permanently ahead of their return to the Premier League.
The Yorkshire club may find themselves in a transfer tussle as Solomon is also wanted by Everton and Southampton this summer.
Tottenham may perhaps use their interest in the Israeli international to potentially steal a march on other suitors for Gray and get a favourable deal.
