Tottenham Hotspur find themselves down in 16th position in the Premier League table with only four fixtures left to play this season. Pressure continues to mount on Ange Postecoglou and the club’s hierarchy have a big decision to make regarding his long-term future. He joined the London outfit back in 2023 after catching their eye up in Scotland at Celtic.
Manchester United are sat in 14th and have also under-performed in this campaign. Ruben Amorim was picked as their replacement for Erik ten Hag this past winter. The Portuguese head coach has endured a mixed spell at Old Trafford so far and will hope for more consistency in the future.
Tottenham Hotspur eye Marcus Rashford transfer
Despite their struggles in the league, Spurs could still get into the Champions League this year. They remain in the Europa League and if they win it, they will be competing in the top European competition next term which is a fantastic incentive for them. They must now throw all their efforts on that tournament and forget about the Premier League now.
Postecoglou’s side are being linked with a summer move for Marcus Rashford at Manchester United. According to Football Transfers, they are interested in luring him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the next window. He is currently on loan at Aston Villa and his future is up in the air.
Rashford, 27, was given the green light to link up with Unai Emery’s men in January after falling out of favour with the Red Devils. He has since enjoyed plenty of game time in the Midlands and has been building his confidence back up. However, it remains to be seen whether Villa will sign him permanently.
If they don’t, that could open the door for Spurs to swoop in. The England international would be perfect and would inject more quality into their ranks. There is no doubting his ability and he needs to go somewhere he can play every week and prove himself.
Rashford has been on the books at Manchester United for his whole career to date and rose up through their academy. The change of scene to Aston Villa has done him good and has provided him with a platform to impress. It is unlikely that he will ever get back into Amorim’s plans and a full-time exit would suit all parties involved.
Tottenham Hotspur should offer Manchester United Yves Bissouma swap deal
Spurs should offer Manchester United a swap deal involving Yves Bissouma in an attempt to secure Rashford’s signature. If the Red Devils got someone in return, they may be more willing to do business. Amorim could do with more options in the middle of the park so this proposal could turn his head.
Casemiro and Christian Eriksen aren’t getting any younger and the midfield department has been a problem position over recent times. The North West outfit are often left wide open in that area during matches and need someone like Bissouma to tighten things up. His deal runs out in June 2026 so his current club risk losing him for nothing next year as things stand if they don’t sell him soon, assuming he doesn’t put pen-to-paper on an extension anytime soon.
Bissouma could give United something different to call upon. He is experienced now in England and has proved in the past that he can significantly influence games. The Mali international, who has 45 caps to his name, has played over 250 matches in his career so far.
The 28-year-old should be coming into his prime now and needs to getting regular minutes. He would be a starter for the Red Devils due to their lack of decent options in his position which could make them an attractive proposition. Brighton snapped him up back in 2018 from Lille and he became an important asset for the Seagulls before Spurs came calling.
