Fulham have now come up with a plan to stop Rodrigo Muniz from leaving this summer after hearing that Tottenham are circling the striker.

With reports claiming that Richarlison is expected to leave Spurs this summer and with there being question marks over Mathys Tel’s future at N17 beyond the end of the season, one would expect Tottenham to enter the market for a number nine this summer.

Earlier this month, it emerged that Spurs had set their sights on Rodrigo Muniz, who has had an impressive season for Fulham, having found the back of the net 11 times across all competitions so far.

However, it turns out that the Cottagers are not prepared to let the Brazilian leave the club without a fight this summer.

GiveMeSport have now also confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are keen on Muniz while revealing that the centre-forward is also on Chelsea’s radar.

However, the report says that key decision-makers at Fulham are now taking decisive steps to ward off interest in the striker.

The outlet claims that the West London club are now set to open contract talks with Muniz and are ready to offer him a substantial pay rise in an effort to tie him down over the long term.

According to the sources that GiveMeSport have spoken to, the former Flamengo man is not likely to exit Fulham this summer.

Why Fulham are in a strong position regarding Rodrigo Muniz

Muniz only has one year left on his contract, but it is revealed that Marco Silva’s men have the option to trigger a one-year extension.

They are thus well placed to resist an offer for the forward even if they are not able to tie him down to a new deal.

The publication adds that Fulham are delighted with how the forward has progressed this season and they value him in the region of £50m.
