Tottenham Hotspur are looking to improve their attacking options in the coming months and they have identified Vitor Roque as a potential target.
According to a report from Spanish publication SPORT, Tottenham have asked for information regarding the player and it remains to be seen whether they step up their pursuit in the coming weeks.
Roque has been linked with a move to Tottenham in the past as well.
The 18-year-old is currently on loan at Real Betis and they have an option to sign him permanently in future. It will be interesting to see if Tottenham decide to come forward with an offer to sign the player. Betis have the option to acquire 80% of his rights for a fee of around €25 million and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can work out an agreement with Barcelona and Real Betis for the talented young striker.
They need more options at their disposal and the 18-year-old could be the ideal acquisition. He is versatile enough to operate anywhere across the front three and he will add goals and creativity to the side. The player has a contract with Barcelona until 2031 and he could be an expensive acquisition. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.
The player has been likened to Brazilian football legend Ronaldo because of a similar playing style and he has been described as an “extremely clutch” player as well.
He could be a long-term investment for Tottenham if they can get the deal across the line. Even if they have to pay a premium for him now, he could justify the outlay in future.
Tottenham signed Dominic Solanke at the start of the season, but the Englishman has not been prolific for them so far. They could certainly use another attacker who will share the goalscoring burden with Solanke, and Roque could be the ideal long-term acquisition for them.
