Tottenham Hotspur are showing interest in re-signing Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters on a free transfer this summer, according to CaughtOffside.

The Lilywhites are believed to be eyeing a low-cost deal to lure the 28-year-old back to North London as his contract at St Mary’s is expiring in just over two months.

Walker-Peters is among a host of Southampton stars expected to leave following their Premier League relegation, alongside Tyler Dibling, whom Spurs are also admirers of.

The 28-year-old has been a key player for the Saints this season, making 30 top-flight appearances and registering two assists for the league strugglers.

The 28-year-old is expected to leave Southampton

According to CaughtOffside, Tottenham are believed to be showing the strongest interest in Walker-Peters at the moment, although several top-flight clubs also have the Englishman on their radar.

The likes of Chelsea, West Ham, Fulham and Crystal Palace are all believed to be monitoring the 28-year-old, whose refusal to accept Southampton’s contract offer has put a host of clubs on red alert.

Walker-Peters spent three seasons with Tottenham’s senior team before joining Southampton in 2020, and made 24 appearances during his time in North London.

The two-cap England international, praised as a ‘beautiful footballer’, has yet to decide on his next move but is believed to be keen on a return to Spurs and ‘proving some people wrong’ there.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Walker-Peters has won two caps for England to date.

Tottenham are anticipating another busy transfer window after last summer’s spree, when they broke their transfer record to sign Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth.

According to GIVEMESPORT sources, the Lilywhites are also believed to be targeting a free deal for Lille midfielder Angel Gomes, along with potential moves for both Dibling and Borussia Dortmund starlet Jamie Gittens.
