Tottenham Hotspur are showing interest in exciting young talent Nico O’Reilly of fellow Premier League side Manchester City, according to TBR Football.

It has been a disappointing season for Tottenham. On the continent, the club have reached the semi-finals of the Europa League, with the competition perhaps offering Spurs a way to finally end their 17-year trophy drought. Domestically, however, the Lilywhites have struggled massively.

Spurs are well-within the confines of mid-table, with the Europa League being their only viable way of qualifying for European football next season. The club have also exited both domestic cup competitions across a campaign that has seen pressure mount on manager Ange Postecoglou.

The club have been ravaged by injuries across the term and as such, the upcoming transfer window is viewed as a chance for Spurs to reinforce in areas that desperately need bolstering. GIVEMESPORT exclusively revealed that Spurs want to sign Tyler Dibling from Southampton, but it appears that they have another target lined up ahead of the new campaign.

Spurs Keeping Tabs on O’Reilly

Deal may be hard to complete

As per TBR Football, Man City youngster Nico O’Reilly is a player that Spurs appreciate. Despite being a midfielder by trade, O’Reilly has recently broken into the City first-team as a left-back. Though he was drafted in due to injuries elsewhere, O’Reilly has made a strong impression from the chance he has received.

Spurs’ interest in O’Reilly is understandable. The youngster appears comfortable playing at the highest level and of course, with his age, will only develop into a better player in the years to come, with O'Reilly having already been dubbed "elite" on social media. When it comes to negotiating a deal, however, Spurs may struggle.

TBR Football have reported that O’Reilly looks set to sign a new contract with Man City, something that would commit his immediate future to the club. It also remains unclear as to whether City would be willing to sell O’Reilly. His presence has seen Josko Gvardiol move into central defence, something that Pep Guardiola’s side may hope to make the norm.

Should Spurs manage to agree a deal for O’Reilly, it should be viewed as nothing other than an exceptional bit of business for the North London side.
