Tottenham Hotspur are showing interest in a forward who has six goals in La Liga this season, but his club could nip the North London club’s pursuit of the player in the bud.
Tottenham eyeing move for Brazilian forward
It emerged a few days ago that Tottenham have been making regular trips to the Benito Villamarin Stadium this season to keep an eye on Johnny Cardoso, who they have an option to sign next summer.
The report explained that during those trips, another Real Betis player, Vitor Roque, had caught the eye of the Premier League side, who were said to be exploring a move for the striker.
The 19-year-old has impressed on loan at Betis this season, with six goals and two assists to his name so far, with the Seville-based club having the option to sign him permanently for €25m (£20m) in the summer.
Real Betis could resist Tottenham’s advances
A report in Estadio Deportivo has now shed light on Betis’ stance on Roque amidst Tottenham’s interest in the forward.
The report says that the Spanish side have warned Spurs about their interest in the teenager and that they can ‘quickly stop’ the Lilywhites’ pursuit of the player.
The outlet claims that Tottenham will have ‘no say’ in Roque’s future, with Betis having the ‘last word’ on the forward’s future.

The publication adds that the Brazilian currently remains focused on doing well for Manuel Pellegrini’s side and is not thinking about a transfer.
Could Vitor Roque be an option for Spurs next summer?
Tottenham look likely to offload Richarlison at the end of the season and we know based on various reports over the last 12 months that they have had an eye on Roque even before Barca signed him.
If Betis do take up the option to sign the forward permanently next summer, Spurs may perhaps decide to offer the La Liga side a chance to make a quick profit by making a sizable offer for the player.
