Spurs have already defeated Man City twice this season.

Tottenham Hotspur are all set to host Manchester City in match week 27 of the Premier League 2024-25 edition. Ange Postecoglou’s men are slowly coming back to form. They are in the 12th spot now after winning 10 of their 26 league matches this season. Pep Guardiola’s men are still hanging in fourth place. They have won 13 matches in the same number of games.

Tottenham Hotspur will be at home and they will be confident to face the Cityzens. Spurs defeated them earlier this season. It was a dominating display by Ange Postecoglou’s men as they struck four goals and conceded none. Although Pep Guardiola’s men maintained a good amount of ball possession, Spurs were the better side in the end.

Manchester City are the Premier League defending champions. They won four league titles in a row but are mostly not going to get on to secure their fifth title because of their current form and competition in the league. Man City lost their last league match against Liverpool. They had a good first half but in the second half conceded a couple of goals and dropped three more points.

Leading the attack from the right, Johnson will help his side find space between Man City’s defence which is what they need here.

Jeremy Doku (Man City)

The Belgian winger made a comeback in Man City’s last league game. Jeremy Doku dropped a good performance but failed to net a goal. He created many chances as well but the Cityzens were unable to convert them into the goal.

Pep Guardiola even complimented both of his wingers and will make sure Doku starts for Man City in their next outing against Tottenham.

Description

The Villans are all set to battle the Spurs in the FA Cup.

Aston Villa will lock horns with Tottenham Hotspur in their upcoming FA Cup 2024-25 4th-round match. The Villans defeated West Ham in their previous cup encounter. It was a close game, but Aston Villa scored a couple of goals in the second half to win the clash. Tottenham on the other hand secured an easy win over Tamworth in their third round match.

Aston Villa are in decent form and have added a couple of important players to the squad. With Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio joining in, they will be looking to step up their game. They will have an equally matched side to play against when they go up against Spurs in their upcoming fixture.

Tottenham Hotspur were knocked out of the Carabao Cup after Liverpool dominated them in the second leg. Spurs will be low on confidence as their poor run of form continues. Aston Villa are going to be a tough challenge for Ange Postecoglou’s men. But it will be interesting to see which team will outplay the other.

In the absence of Ollie Watkins, Rashford might lead the attack from the front. It will not be his usual position but can still lay a good amount of impact for his side.

Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur)

The South Korean winger is having a dry run. Son Heung-min stays important for the Spurs in their attacking front. Attacking from the left, Son helps his team in creating chances.

He is also good at scoring goals but at the moment he is not so much in the form. The South Korea national football team player will have to step up for Tottenham so that they will have a chance to get to the next round of the cup competition.

Match Facts

Aston Villa have just progressed from just one of their last six FA Cup fixtures against Spurs.

Spurs are in for a treat as they face IF Elfsborg in their next UEL Clash.

Tottenham Hotspur will be hosting IF Elfsborg in their upcoming UEFA Europa League 2024-25 fixture on January 31. Spurs will be keen on securing a victory in their competition after their lacklustre performances in the Premier League. Tottenham are doing well in the UEL as they sit in the sixth spot with 14 points.

Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to boss the proceedings against struggling IF Elfsborg. Spurs have bagged four victories in their seven Europa League matches which is surely going to help them to get to the next stage of the European tournament. Spurs are having a disappointing run in the Premier League. They can even find themselves in the relegation zone if they don’t fight back.

The Swedish side IF Elfsborg will be fighting hard to retain their place in the next round of the Europa League. After their modest performances last season, they ended up in the seventh spot in the Swedish League Allsvenskan. If they find themselves defeated against Spurs, then Elfsborg can forget securing a spot in the further stages of the tournament. The same will be the case if they end up in a draw.

Kick Off:

Friday, January 31, 1:30 AM IST

Location: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London, England

Form:

Tottenham Hotspur: W-L-L-W-L

IF Elfsborg: D-L-W-L-W

Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur)

The South Korean winger will be all ready to lead his side to a triumph over the Swedish side IF Elfsborg. Son Heung-min has scored three goals in five matches for Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League. He will be keen on engraving his name on the scoresheet against Elfsborg. Son will have a key role to play in Spurs’ final third during their upcoming UEL clash.

Simon Hedlund (IF Elfsborg)

Simon Hedlund has been involved in three-goal contributions for Elfsborg in seven UEL matches. The Swedish forward is all set to play an important role in Elfborg’s clash against Spurs in UEL. The 31-year-old will be looking to score some goals and this will be the perfect time for Simon Hedlund to step up.

Match Facts

IF Elfsborg have lost seven of their last eight away games in major European competitions.

This will be the first time that Tottenham Hotspur will be going up against Swedish opponents Elfsborg.

Spurs are undefeated in 16 home games in all European Competitions since February 2020.

A total of 10 players will not be in action for the hosts Spurs. Some of them are Dominic Solanke, Brennan Johnson, James Maddison, Timo Werner and others. There is no confirmation on Richarlison being fully fit.

Real Madrid plotting move for Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Micky van de Ven

Submitted by daniel on
Picture

Description

Injuries have forced Los Blancos to look for a centre-back.

In an attempt to strengthen their defence, Real Madrid are considering a move for Micky van de Ven, a sensation for Tottenham Hotspur.

This summer, Los Blancos added two important players to their attack: Endrick from Palmeiras and Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain. However, the team did not add any new players to their defence.

Leny Yoro, a promising French defender, was their target, but the centre-back decided to sign with Manchester United instead.

Eder Militao joined David Alaba in hospital bed last month, adding to Carlo Ancelotti‘s team’s defensive problems. They have already given up 29 goals in 26 appearances across all competitions in the 2024–25 season. Although the Brazilian will be sidelined for the rest of the campaign due to an ACL tear, Alaba is unlikely to make a comeback before the end of January.

According to Relevo, the Spanish champions have compiled a shortlist of defenders, and Micky van de Ven of Tottenham is the top target for the team. The 23-year-old Dutch defender, who plays on the left side of the backline, is projected to succeed Militao exactly and will fit right in with the team. Josko Gvardiol of Manchester City and Croatia, and Castello Lukeba of RB Leipzig are among the other targets.

Madrid might have to hunt somewhere for a new defender because Van de Ven has a contract that expires in 2029 and Tottenham have no plans whatsoever of moving him in January.

In light of this, it would be shocking if Tottenham parted ways with any of its defenders in January since they want to expand their centre-back choices rather than reduce them.

Postecoglou eyes all three points for the Lilywhites with a win over the Wanderers.

In the heart of North London, where the grandeur of Alexandra Palace meets the bustling charm of Camden Market, the fourth clash in Matchweek 19 of the Premier League fixtures takes us to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in North London where Spurs are set to host Wolves.

Tottenham Hotspur have been one of the most enigmatic teams in the Premier League this season, oscillating between brilliance and inconsistency. A team capable of demolishing reigning champions Manchester City with an emphatic 4-0 victory can also falter against newly promoted sides like Ipswich Town, highlighting their unpredictable nature.

As Spurs aim to stabilize their form and rebuild momentum, Ange Postecoglou will be determined to extract consistent performances from his squad. The Australian tactician will leave no stone unturned as his team prepares to face Wolverhampton Wanderers in their upcoming clash, hoping to establish a winning rhythm and steer their campaign back on track.

Wolverhampton Wanderers, once regarded as a reliable mid-table Premier League outfit, now find themselves entrenched in the relegation zone, battling to salvage their season. With a mere 12 points from 17 matches, their campaign has been marred by defensive frailties, having conceded a staggering 40 goals, the most by any team in the league thus far.

As they prepare to face a high-scoring and dynamic Tottenham Hotspur side, the Wolves must address their defensive vulnerabilities if they are to stand any chance of climbing out of danger. This match represents a critical juncture for the Midlands club, as they desperately seek a result that could reignite their season and bring hope to their struggling campaign.

His adaptability, vision, and creative flair made him indispensable, prompting Spurs to secure him on a permanent deal. Since then, Kulusevski has emerged as a cornerstone of Tottenham’s attacking unit. Whether under the pragmatic Antonio Conte or the dynamic Ange Postecoglou, his tactical flexibility and consistent performances have solidified his status as a key figure in the North London club’s resurgence.

Matt Doherty (Wolves)

Matt Doherty, the 32-year-old fullback from Dublin, is set to make his mark for Wolverhampton Wanderers as he faces his former club, Tottenham Hotspur, in a much-anticipated reunion. A former Spurs player, Doherty made 34 appearances and netted three goals during his time with the North London outfit, where he was part of the squad that finished as EFL Cup runners-up in the 2020-21 season.

Doherty’s footballing journey began with Wolves, where he quickly established himself as a cornerstone player. Liverpool maintain top spot in Premier League with dominant 6-3 win against Tottenham Hotspur

Description

The Reds displayed an excellent attacking performance against the Spurs.

Liverpool ran riot at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as they beat Spurs 6-3 and maintained their top spot in the Premier League. The Reds were first to open the scoring in the 23rd minute of the game through Luiz Diaz. The visitors continued their attacking intent and finally doubled their lead through Alexis Mac Allister who headed the loose ball home in the 36th minute.

However, the home team managed to pull one up through James Maddison in 41 minute as the optimism in the game for a comeback was restored by the hosts.

But any hopes of a comeback were further dented by Liverpool when they went into rampant mode when Dominik Szoboszlai gave a two-goal cushion to the Reds in a counterattack in the 46th minute.

Arne Slot’s side continued their impressive performance in the second half as they diminished Spurs’ hope of any comeback when Mohamed Salah scored his first goal of the evening in the 54th minute. He added another goal to his Premier League tally in the 61st minute and it appeared the game is over for Spurs.

However, there was more to come as it seemed like a goal galore game when Dominik Solanke found the back of the net in the 81st minute but any expectation of a comeback was far from away, although Spurs hoped to push for more goals.

But once again Liverpool’s attack stepped up and scored the sixth goal of the evening when Luiz Diaz squared the ball and secured his brace in the 85th minute.

Liverpool wrapped up the game with a brilliant attacking performance and remain top of the table with a four-point lead over Chelsea, who drew against Everton.

Liverpool will next return to action on Thursday when they will host Leicester City, while Tottenham will take on an in-form Nottingham Forest on Thursday lunchtime.

The ten-spot difference in league standings goes out of the window here after Spurs defeated United 4-3.

Tottenham Hotspur are coming into this Premier League fixture after a triumph in the EFL Cup quarterfinals. Spurs should be high on confidence after getting the better of league opponents in the cup tie. They were up against Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United.

Ange Postecoglou’s team had the last laugh in the seven-goal thriller played at home, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Now they will look to put a stop to Liverpool’s amazing run of 20 consecutive games without a defeat in all competitions.

If a team is enjoying such a beautiful run, they are expected to be doing well in almost every other competition. Well, such is the case with Liverpool. The Reds are in the EFL Cup semifinals and lead both the tables of the UEFA Champions League and Premier League. What more could you ask of Arne Slot – the man who joined just at the start of the 2024-25 season to take the reigns from departing manager Jürgen Klopp?
