Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly agreed a £65million deal for Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke - a club record fee for the north London outfit.

Spurs' previous transfer record stood at £63m, paid to French side Lyon for the acquisition of Tanguy Ndombele in 2019.

That's about to be broken though, with The Athletic reporting Solanke is poised to sign for Spurs, penning a six-year deal in the process.

The Englishman enjoyed a stellar campaign with Bournemouth last time around, netting 19 goals across 38 Premier League appearances for the Cherries.

Solanke was unfortunate not to have been picked for Gareth Southgate's Euros squad, with Cole Palmer, Phil Foden and Ollie Watkins the only English players to have scored more goals last term.

However, his strong form was enough to earn him a transfer to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while plugging a gap in Ange Postecoglou's starting XI.

The Spurs boss revealed during pre-season he and his team were working to add a centre-forward to the club's ranks.

Speaking earlier in the summer, Postecoglou said: "What’s important is the type of striker we get. You know we play a certain way.

"We demand certain things from a physical perspective from the technical aspects of it that it’s going be a striker that fits that mould.

“It’s still the area of the park we’re really probably the thinnest when I talk about squad-wise at the moment, so obviously that’s a focus for us.”

There had been hope that Richarlison would step into the striker-shaped hole left behind by Harry Kane last season, but through a combination of injuries and bad form, things didn't work out for the Brazil international.

Richarlison managed 11 goals in 28 appearances for Spurs - a respectable return, but nowhere near the volume required to lead the line for Tottenham.

Spurs' summer isn't expected to finish there though, with two more positions on the club's transfer radar.

It's claimed Tottenham will look to add reinforcements at left-back and on the wing before deadline day later this month.

Postecoglou will be hoping Solanke and any more new arrivals can help Spurs go one better and qualify for the Champions League.

Tottenham missed out on a spot in Europe's premier club competition last time around, finishing two points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa.

Their pursuit of a top-four finish begins a week on Monday when they travel to newly promoted Leicester City.

Tottenham's pursuit of Dominic Solanke could hinge on making room for the striker by offloading some of their fringe players.

Ange Postecoglou wants to sign the 26-year-old, who bagged 19 goals for Bournemouth in the 2023-24 campaign, to bolster his frontline.

The former Chelsea academy graduate is also keen on a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, although Richarlison's decision to snub a £60m transfer to Saudi Arabia could put a dent in their plans.

However, the north London outfit still have other ways of raising the funds to sign the Bournemouth star. Express Sport looks at four alternative players who could be sold to raise the £65m needed to meet their demands.

Oliver Skipp

Ange Postecoglou handed only five Premier League starts and 698 minutes of action to Skipp in total last season, suggesting he could be open to letting the midfielder leave with interest from Leicester City, Southampton and Ipswich Town.

Rodrigo Bentancur, Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma are all ahead of Skipp in the pecking order for the two places in the double pivot. That makes him vulnerable to being sold, even after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's loan move to Marseille.

Transfermarkt value him at £12.8m, which may be less than Spurs would ask for in this market. Skipp is only 23 and qualifies as a homegrown player for any Premier League club, and with over 100 appearances is quite experienced already.

Skipp's contract still has three years to run until 2027, so he won't be forced out by any means. But if Spurs receive a tempting offer this summer, their loyalty to the youngster might be tested.

Sky Sports, UHD, Sky Stream, Sky TV and Netflix

£52 £43 View Deal

Sky has slashed the price of its Sky Sports, Sky Stream, Sky TV and Netflix bundle in an unbeatable new deal that saves £216 and includes 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.

With Ultra HD included at no extra cost, football fans can enjoy the 2024/25 season with crystal clear picture quality.

Giovani Lo Celso

Behind James Maddison and perhaps Alfie Devine in the Spurs pecking order, Lo Celso is expected to end his four-year spell in north London this summer.

The 28-year-old has scored only three goals in 49 Premier League appearances since joining from Real Betis in a £55m deal in 2020. The Argentinian has spent 18 months on loan with Villarreal, who didn't take up their option to sign him at the end of the 2022-23 season.

It emerged in July that Aston Villa were open to a swap deal involving Lo Celso and Jacob Ramsey, but the mooted deal did not materialise.

The playmaker is keen to return to Betis this summer and while the fee would be a huge reduction on what Spurs paid, anything in the region of £10m-15m would represent a welcome boost to their transfer funds.

Sergio Reguilon

Spurs flogged the left-back to two different clubs in the 2023-24 season, indicating the Spain international simply isn't a part of Postecoglou's plans going forward.

Reguilon was a £25m arrival from Real Madrid in 2021 but, like Lo Celso, has struggled to lock down a regular spot and has made 67 appearances in total for the club.

Having been signed as emergency loan cover by Manchester United to cope with their left-back crisis, the Red Devils only used him 12 times before sending the Spaniard back to London in January.

He moved on loan to Brentford, and the good news is that his performances for the Bees were quietly impressive, giving the 27-year-old a fighting chance of earning a permanent move this summer. They would do well to get anything close to £10m for the full-back, but every little helps towards the £65m needed for Solanke.

Emerson Royal

Richarlison could soon be the only Brazilian left at the club as AC Milan close in on the signing of his close friend Emerson Royal.

The ex-Barcelona defender has been a bit-part player since arriving at the club and isn't guaranteed first-team football under Postecoglou.

The Rossoneri are determined to land the Brazil international and reports in Italy suggest a deal is close, boosting Tottenham's transfer budget - even if it means taking a loss on the £30m paid to sign him three years ago. Sky Sport Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio and Calciomercato.com value the deal at £12.8m (€15m) plus £1.6m (€2m) in bonuses.

Add together all four potential sales of Skipp, Reguilon, Lo Celso and Emerson, and Postecoglou could get his man without spending a net amount.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing up a double swoop in the transfer market once they secure the services of Dominic Solanke.

Solanke is said to be on the verge of completing a £65million move to the north London outfit.

The Bournemouth man found the net 19 times in the Premier League last term, with Solanke unfortunate not to have made England’s Euro 2024 squad.

His arrival should help fill the gap left behind by record goalscorer Harry Kane, who penned a nine-figure move to Bayern Munich 12 months ago.

But Spurs aren’t expected to rest on their laurels when Solanke’s signature is secured. Tottenham will instead turn attention to securing two more players, as per The Times.

A left-back is believed to be on the capital club’s radar after Ryan Sessegnon and Ivan Perisic were let go earlier in the transfer window.

Spurs are also said to be targeting a winger, with Ange Postecoglou not currently content with his options in attack.

No team inside the top seven scored fewer goals than Tottenham last season, indicating attacking reinforcements might be needed if Spurs want to kick on and challenge for the top four spots.

It’s suggested Spurs like the look of Pedro Neto, having previously scouted the Wolverhampton Wanderers ace.

Eberechi Eze has also been mooted as a potential option for the two-time English champions, although Crystal Palace’s asking price could force Spurs to look elsewhere.

Their London rivals are rumoured to be demanding a fee in the region of £60million for Eze - a valuation Spurs aren’t willing to match.

Spurs have already spent big this summer, with Solanke set to join £30m man Archie Gray among the new arrivals at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The teenager excelled for Leeds United in the Championship last season and is being tipped to go on and become a full England international.

Whereas Yang Min-hyuk has agreed to a move from Gangwon FC, but the 18-year-old won’t join the Spurs squad until January 2025.

Postecoglou and co. will be keen to have the majority of their transfer dealings wrapped up before the return of the Premier League in just over a week’s time.

Spurs head to Leicester City in the first Monday Night Football of the season, before welcoming Everton to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium a week later.

Teenage starlet Mikey Moore, 16, has reportedly agreed to sign a professional contract with Tottenham later this week.

The forward has been one of Spurs’ breakout stars in pre-season and may have give Ange Postecoglou something to think about heading into the 2024/25 campaign as the Aussie looks to assess his options in the final third.

Moore became the youngest player to make a Premier League appearances for Tottenham in May when coming on as a substitute in Spurs’ 2-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester City. He has since been involved with the first-team and made several appearances during his side’s pre-season tour of Asia.

According to The Athletic, Moore has now agreed to pen his first professional deal with Tottenham on Sunday when he turns 17.

He will sign a three-year deal with the north London outfit, which is the longest deal that a player under the age of 18 is allowed to sign due to FIFA regulations.

Though it is not only the contract length which indicates the sheer level of trust that Tottenham have in the ability of the England Under-17 international.

Moore has also reportedly been offered a bigger salary than Spurs have ever proposed to a player before they have turned 17 in the hope of fending off interest from other clubs - highlighting that the higher powers at the club have recognised his level of talent.

The playmaker highlighted what he has to offer in the Premier League next season by scoring three goals in pre-season, bagging against Scottish side Hearts, Vissel Kobe and a Japanese youth team.

Postecoglou heaped the praise on Moore following his side’s victory over Vissel Kobe by revealing that the teen has shown that he warrants consideration as a first-team player heading into the upcoming campaign.

He explained: “Mikey has been fantastic since we brought him in. He’s earned his spot on the roster at the moment, he did at the end of last year.

“He got a run with the first team because we could see in training that he was handling himself really well and that’s followed through into pre-season training. All we can do is keep allowing him to develop. We have to remember that last year he had some injuries and he is only 16, but yeah, super exciting.”

Tottenham get Jonathan David transfer boost as forward 'makes decision over move'

Tottenham Hotspur's hopes of signing Lille striker Jonathan David have been boosted by the forward rejecting Roma. The Canadian striker, who has a year left on his current deal in France, has been linked with a host of European clubs this summer after scoring 26 times last season.

And the Serie A side reportedly made the 24-year-old a contract offer in a bid to bring him to Italy.

However, according to L'Equipe, David has turned down the move, despite still being keen to leave Lille.

Ange Postecoglou wants to bolster his forward options this summer, with the future of current No.9 Richarlison still in doubt. Timo Werner has extended his loan stay from RB Leipzig, but has scored just twice for the club after joining in January.

The club have signed Archie Gray from Leeds this summer, while Lucas Bergvall and Min-hyeok Yang have joined from Djurgarden and Gwangon FC respectively. But that trio all signify midfield options, while Spurs have also been linked with Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke.

David has now spent four years at Lille after signing from Gent in 2020. And he made an immediate impression in his first season, scoring 13 times as the club beat PSG to the Ligue 1 title.

He's also become a critical figure at international level, already having 54 caps to his name. He's scored 28 times for Canada and his goals were pivotal as his country qualified fo the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Spurs were beaten 2-1 in their latest pre-season friendly by Bayern Munich on Saturday, and afterwards Postecoglou admitted he was still searching for signings. However, he stopped short of specifically naming targets, and also conceded his overhaul would be completed this summer.

"We've added the two young guys, but I also think there's been growth from other guys from last year, which naturally makes us stronger," he said. "But yeah, we obviously still got a hand in this window, but I think we'll go beyond this window.

"This was wasn't just tinkering around the edges when I took over, it needed, you know, a big shift from where it was. I was just thinking about last year's pre-season, you know, I reckon 50% of the people who were on that tour are probably not here now."

The Australian has also said the incresed schedule for his club next season will mean more signings are needed. Tottenham ended up fifth in the Premier League in 2023/24, meaning Europa League qualification.

Tottenham have three players Bournemouth might accept in Dominic Solanke swap deal

Tottenham are said to be exploring a move for Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke this summer after the star bagged 19 Premier League goals last season. Solanke is said to have a £65million release clause in his contract and appeared to tease a move with a cryptic quote on social media.

But Spurs could try to get the transfer fee down by offering Bournemouth a part-exchange deal.

And Express Sport takes a look at three players Tottenham could use as collateral to tempt the Cherries.

Giovani Lo Celso

Argentina international Giovani Lo Celso has featured in 77 Premier League games since joining Tottenham from Real Betis in 2019 but has failed to establish himself as a first-team regular under any manager in north London.

The 28-year-old, who has won 57 caps for his country and was part of the Argentina squad that won the Copa America last month, started just four top-flight matches last term.

But he would be a welcome addition to the Bournemouth squad and could help the Dorset club kick on to the next level thanks to his nous and experience at the highest level of the game. And with only one more year remaining on his contract at Spurs, the north London giants would surely be more than happy to include him in any deal for Solanke.

Manor Solomon

Manor Solomon is another player who Tottenham may be willing to sacrifice, with the winger missing eight months of the last campaign after being forced to undergo surgery for a meniscus problem in his right knee in October.

The 25-year-old impressed for Fulham after moving to England from Shakhtar Donetsk two years ago and could jump at the chance to play regular football for Bournemouth following an injury-hit couple of seasons.

The winger, who is contracted to Tottenham until the summer of 2028, is unlikely to be a regular starter under Ange Postecoglou. And a transfer to the south coast could work in everyone’s favour, with Bournemouth desperate to establish themselves as a mid-table Premier League side.

Alejo Veliz

If Bournemouth aren’t tempted by Lo Celso or Solomon, Tottenham could offer the Cherries a loan deal for up-and-coming talent Alejo Veliz.

The 20-year-old joined Tottenham from Rosario Central a year ago and spent the second half of last season on loan at Sevilla.

Veliz featured six times for the Spanish side and will be keen to have a crack at the Premier League, with Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola likely to be able to provide more short-term opportunities than Postecoglou.

Tottenham hit Dominic Solanke hurdle as transfer chiefs given response

Tottenham have reportedly been told that they will need to match Dominic Solanke’s £65million release clause if they wish to sign the Bournemouth talisman this summer, a fee that is currently deemed too high by the Spurs brass.

The Mirror claim that Bournemouth are insistent that only Solanke’s release clause paid in full will get them to consider parting ways with the 26-year-old, mindful that Liverpool are set to receive 20 per cent of any profit that the Cherries make on his £19m move to the south coast in 2019.

Reports recently emerged claiming that Solanke was made one of Spurs’ main targets this summer as they look to bolster Ange Postecoglou’s front line. They may need to consider offering players in exchange in order to lower the striker’s current valuation, however.

Solanke scored 19 Premier League goals last season, bettered only by Erling Haaland, Cole Palmer and Alexander Isak, with Andoni Iraola’s outfit prepared for significant interest in the one-cap England international.

And Spurs are expected to firm up their interest, led by boss Postecoglou. "It's still the area of the park we're really probably the thinnest when I talk about squad-wise at the moment, so obviously that's a focus for us,” the Aussie recently said when asked about the prospect of bringing in another striker.

"At Celtic, I had Kyogo (Furuhashi), who was a sort of out-and-out number nine and in Japan, I've always had a striker. It just depends, like last year we had to be a bit creative, it's fair to say. You know but if Harry (Kane) would have stayed I definitely would have used him!

"So I think for us what's more important is the type of striker we get. You know we play a certain way. We demand certain things from a physical perspective from the technical aspects of it that it's going be a striker that fits that mould."

Some fans have insinuated that “dare to dream” relates to Solanke’s ambitions to play for a team in Europe in the coming season, though there is a significant barrier to overcome in the finances involved.

Spurs likely would be more prepared to shell out for Solanke if they find a buyer for Richarlison, amid interest from Saudi Arabia. Though teams from the Middle East have spent more cautiously than the previous year and links have cooled on the Brazilian leaving north London.

Dominic Solanke signs, £60m deal done - Tottenham's dream attack this season

Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou is finally be ready to dip into the transfer market to replace Harry Kane - some 12 months after their former talisman left for Bayern Munich.

The Australian seems to be ready to ditch his blueprint of using Son Heung-min as a centre forward, despite the South Korean's return of 17 goals and 10 assists last season.

The 32-year-old is arguably more effective from the left flank and Postecoglou is reportedly in the market for a new striker, with doubts over Richarlison's long-term future.

The Brazilian has been linked with a £60million move to Saudi Arabia, although the striker has made it clear he wants to stay in north London. However, he made only 18 starts in the Premier League last season and Spurs would jump at the chance to make their money back on the 27-year-old.

Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke has been identified as a potential transfer target, with the £50m-rated frontman bagging 19 goals for the Cherries during the 2023-24 campaign.

Despite having 20-year-old Alejo Veliz available after his loan at Sevilla, the Argentinian could join Fiorentina. Postecoglou confirmed he is looking to add another striker to their ranks and dropped a hint about the profile of player they were looking to bring in.

"It's still the area of the park we're really probably the thinnest when I talk about squad-wise at the moment, so obviously that's a focus for us," Postecoglou said.

He added: "At Celtic, I had Kyogo [Furuhashi], who was a sort of out and out number nine and in Japan, I've always had a striker. It just depends, like last year we had to be a bit creative, it's fair to say. But if Harry would have stayed I definitely would have used him!

Football.London report that the South Coast outfit are bracing themselves for an approach for Solanke, although with a £65m release clause - which can only be activated by certain clubs - it could represent an expensive deal.

Solanke would be tasked with spearheading the frontline, with Son on the left and Dejan Kulusevski on the right. Spurs are blessed with a luxury of options out wide, with Timo Werner, Brennan Johnson and Manor Solomon also able to come into the team.

Spurs could also cash in on midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, who has made only 17 starts for the club since his £55m transfer from Real Betis four years ago. The 28-year-old may seek a return to his former club for a cut-price fee, and £15m may be enough to convince chairman Daniel Levy to cut ties.

With James Maddison occupying the No 10 role and exciting talents Lucas Bergvall and Alfie Devine providing backup, Spurs fans will be excited about the prospect of what their team could achieve this season.
