Tottenham Hotspur 0-1 Manchester City: Player Ratings and Match Highlights

Description

Manchester City edged past Tottenham Hotspur with a 1-0 victory in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.

After a somewhat sloppy opening to the match where both teams just traded overhit long balls over the top, City took the lead in the 12th minute. A nice break from the away side saw the ball get to the feet of Jeremy Doku down the left flank and the Belgian picked out Erling Haaland with the help of a slight deflection and the big forward routinely slotted home from inside the six-yard box.

The first half ended 1-0 to City, but Tottenham would've felt extremely lucky to go in just one goal down at the break as they were by far second best all throughout the match and only managed two attempts on goal in the opening 45 minutes.

Late into the match, Spurs had a good attempt on goal which was saved very well by Ederson, who did well to get down so quickly. The Brazilian, up to this point, didn't have much to do but he clearly stayed alert and switched on.

The match ended 1-0 to Manchester City but not without controversy. Erling Haaland made it 2-0 in the last minutes of the match but controversially had his goal ruled out by VAR despite the ball seemingly coming off the big Norwegian's chest, not his arm.

Match Highlights

Tottenham Hotspur Player Ratings

GK: Guglielmo Vicario - 7.5/10

Was kept busy all throughout the match but performed well and made several fantastic saves.

RB: Pedro Porro - 6/10

Really struggled defensively up against Doku and didn't contribute offensively as much as he normally does, even though his attacking output improved in the second half.

CB: Archie Gray - 7/10

Tidy on the ball and made several good blocks and clearances to keep his team in the match at different stages of the match.

CB: Kevin Danso - 8/10

Made some really good tackles and dealt with the presence of Haaland well. Danso was also quality in possession of the ball.

LB: Destiny Udogie - 6/10

Unaware of a lot of Savinho's runs in behind the defence, which caused his teammates some problems throughout the match.

CM: Rodrigo Bentancur - 7.5/10

Made some good tackles and battled really hard in midfield. Bentancur was also a good presence in the box when Spurs got corners.

CM: Lucas Bergvall - 7/10

Just like Bentancur, Bergvall also worked really hard in midfield and put his body on the line, but he was also very good at bringing the ball out of defence and travelling with the ball.

AM: James Maddison - 7/10

Had some nice touches and moments with the ball, but the attacking players around him weren't showing enough off the ball for him to find them.

RW: Brennan Johnson - 5.5/10

Didn't see much of the ball down the right flank, but even when he did, he was either dispossessed fairly easily or gave away the ball.

ST: Mathys Tel - 5/10

The youngster was pretty much anonymous up front. He hardly touched the ball and missed a pretty good chance at close range in the second half before being substituted.

LW: Wilson Odobert - 6.5/10

Looked threatening when dribbling with the ball and taking on players but did lack some end product and missed a decent chance early in the second half.

SUB: Heung-Min Son - N/A

Didn't do much after coming onto the pitch.

SUB: Djed Spence - N/A

Didn't do much after coming onto the pitch.

SUB: Pape Sarr - N/A

SUB: Dejan Kulusevski - N/A

SUB: Timo Werner - N/A

Manchester City Player Ratings

GK: Ederson - 8/10

Stayed switched on and alert as even though he didn't have much to do during the match, he made a very good save late in the match to keep his side in the lead.

RB: Matheus Nunes - 6.5/10

Looked shaky when defending against Odobert but kept his head well when under pressure.

CB: Abduokdir Khusanov - 8/10

Read the game exceptionally well at times. The youngster was good playing the ball out from the back but he also defended very well when called into action.

CB: Ruben Dias - 7.5/10

Formed a good partnership with Khusanov and didn't really put a foot wrong during the match.

LB: Josko Gvardiol - 7/10

A solid performance from the Croatian. Gvardiol wasn't outstanding but he was solid and kept the defence together while under pressure.

CM: Nico Gonzalez - 6.5/10

Didn't see much of the ball and didn't contribute much to the match. The Spaniard was substituted in the latter stages of the match.

CM: Mateo Kovacic - 7.5/10

Did a really good job of retaining the ball and calming others around him down when Spurs had their moments of pressure. Kovacic was good on the ball and also contributed well defensively and in the pressing department.

AM: Omar Marmoush - 6.5/10

The Egyptian's delivery from set pieces was pretty good and he looked sharp, but he didn't get involved enough to make anything significant happen.

RW: Savinho - 6/10

Had a strong first half where he looked dangerous, but in the second half he dropped off and was quite ineffective. The tricky winger missed a really good chance in the first half to double his side's lead but he scuffed the shot.

ST: Erling Haaland - 7.5/10

Took his goal well but didn't get involved much despite making some good runs through the middle of the Spurs defence.

LW: Jeremy Doku - 8.5/10

Looked extremely dangerous every single time he took the ball and ran at Porro. Doku used his pace and trickery very well and provided a great assist for Haaland also.

SUB: Bernardo Silva - N/A

Didn't do much after coming onto the pitch.

SUB: Phil Foden - N/A

Didn't do much after coming onto the pitch.

SUB: James McAtee - N/A

Didn't do much after coming onto the pitch.

SUB: Jack Grealish - N/A

Didn't do much after coming onto the pitch.

SUB: Ilkay Gundogan - N/A

Didn't do much after coming onto the pitch.

Man of the Match

Jeremy Doku

Even though Manchester City lost to Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, huge positives were taken from the match due to the outstanding performance of Jeremy Doku, and the pacy Belgian was terrific once again.

Every single time he picked up the ball, Doku never looked back and just looked to drive forward and cause the Spurs defence problems and that is exactly what he did. Pedro Porro is no slouch, but Doku's trickery and pace made him look like an amateur at times. As well as being just a general nuisance, he also provided a really good assist for Erling Haaland's goal in the first half, which proved to be the match-winning goal.

Description

Tottenham and Manchester City will go head-to-head in the Premier League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday night with both teams looking to turn their fortunes around after poor campaigns.

Ange Postecoglou's side made it back-to-back wins at the weekend with a 4-1 victory over Ipswich, while Pep Guardiola's suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss against league leaders Liverpool to add to the doubt around their chances of qualifying for next season's Champions League.

Both sides have been dealing with big injury concerns all season and a busy schedule leaves the managers with decisions to make, so this is how GIVEMESPORT expect the teams to line up.

Tottenham Team News

No fresh concerns for Postecoglou

Postecoglou was able to hand players minutes at the weekend after several stars returned from injury, giving him the opportunity to rotate. James Maddison and Pedro Porro were rested while Destiny Udogie and Brennan Johnson returned to the side.

But the team will still be without Timo Werner, Cristian Romero, Richarlison, Dominic Solanke, Micky Van de Ven, Ben Davies and Radu Dragusin due to injury.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference Postecoglou shared an update on the status of his squad for this game.

“Good news, everyone who played (at Ipswich) got through really well. It’s great that we could give guys like Madders and Pedro a bit of a rest and still be able to come on, and contribute, and get game time into Brennan and Destiny. They all came through really well. So, that means it will be a similar squad for tomorrow.

"We were hoping maybe Ben would be ready for this game, he won’t make it, but we’ve a seven-day break (after City), so, he’ll miss out.”

Tottenham Confirmed XI

Maddison to come back into the team

Tottenham Confirmed XI: Vicario; Porro, Danso, Gray, Udogie; Bergvall, Bentancur; Johnson, Maddison, Odobert; Tel.

Tottenham Confirmed Substitutes: Kinsky (GK), Spence (DEF), Reguilon (DEF), Bissouma (MID), Sarr (MID), Kulusevski (FWD), Son (FWD), Werner (FWD), Scarlett (FWD).

Man City Team News

Haaland doubtful

Man City are having their worst season under Guardiola and have now been hit by an injury to star striker Erling Haaland, who has missed each of the last two games with a knee problem.

He remains doubtful while John Stones, Manuel Akanji and Rodri are long-term absentees. Oscar Bobb is back in training but hasn't featured this season after breaking his ankle in pre-season.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Guardiola shared an update on his squad.

“Tonight, we will know it after training. I hope so but I don’t know yet.

“He feels better but the last two games he could not play. We’ll see tomorrow.”

Exclusive: £68m ‘Superstar’ Open to Tottenham Move This Summer

Description

Tottenham Hotspur could make their move for Eberechi Eze in the summer transfer window after becoming a 'concrete option' to secure his signature, sources have told GIVEMESPORT. However, they will baulk at Crystal Palace's valuation of their star midfielder, as the Eagles continue to fend off interest from some of the Premier League's biggest clubs.

Eze, 26, joined Palace in August 2020 from Queens Park Rangers - and has since been all but a mainstay in their side, forming superb partnerships with the likes of Wilfried Zaha, Michael Olise and Jean-Philippe Mateta in his time in south London. That's seen his talents sought-after by Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou - and sources have confirmed that although Tottenham are leading the race for his signature, Eze's release clause could be too high.

Sources: Tottenham Are Most Interested Side in Eberechi Eze

The Crystal Palace midfielder has plenty of suitors and is open to a move to Spurs

GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed that there is no interest from Chelsea in Eze's talents - and that the Palace man has seen Tottenham become the most interested side in his talents as a result.

Postecoglou's side are the most concrete option to secure his signature, with Eze being very open to a move to the north London side as he wishes to stay in the capital - and although this is not seen as a dealbreaker, Eze likes the idea of leaving Palace but staying in London, where he started his career at QPR and grew up in Greenwich.

Sources understand that his release clause stands at £68million this summer, which is the same as last season, though the clause is slightly complicated to get around. The buying club will have to go to Palace, express their interest in his services, and then head to Eze, who will make the final decision on his future.

However, Tottenham - alongside Manchester United and Napoli - are not keen on paying such a release clause, with sporting director Johan Lange valuing Eze around the £50million mark despite his Premier League exploits over the past few seasons from attacking midfield, in which he has 28 goals and 21 assists at Selhurst Park - being dubbed a 'superstar' by Jamie Carragher.

Clubs are serious about securing Eze's signature, though it is highly unlikely that they will pay his release clause and that could tip the balance in Palace's favour in the summer months.

There is still the possibility that Eze stays at the Eagles, with Palace evidently wanting to keep one of their star men despite the England international having only scored twice in the Premier League this season - and with a further two years left on his contract, Eze could stay another season as the Eagles continue to shine under Oliver Glasner in the second half of the Premier League campaign.

England Cap Has Boosted Eze's Profile

Showing his talents at EURO 2024 means Eze could make the step up to European competition

Eze made his England debut just under two years ago in June 2023, and has nine caps for the Three Lions - including two at the start of the current campaign under Lee Carsley and further cameo appearances at EURO 2024, in which he received a runners-up medal for his endeavours under Gareth Southgate.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Eberechi Eze has nine England caps but has yet to score for the Three Lions.

However, Eze has not played football in European competition before, and if Spurs can get back to their previous levels under Postecoglou, it could be a milestone in Eze's career should he make the switch across London.

Insider: ‘Special’ Forward Could Join Tottenham in £25m Deal This Summer

Description

Southampton starlet Tyler Dibling has been tipped to join Tottenham Hotspur by former scout Mick Brown, who believes the 19-year-old could emerge as a serious target for the North London club this summer.

Dibling is unlikely to stay at St Mary’s beyond the 2024/25 campaign amid his growing list of suitors and Southampton’s looming return to the Championship.

Ivan Juric’s men are rock-bottom of the Premier League table with 11 games to go and sit five wins from safety, having collected just nine points so far.

They will find it difficult to retain Dibling at the end of the season, and Brown believes an offer of £25 million could pry the ‘outstanding’ winger away from the south coast.

Tyler Dibling Tipped for Spurs Move

In the summer transfer window

According to Brown, Tottenham are aiming to rejuvenate their squad further under Ange Postecoglou and may target a move for Dibling, who has been described as "special", at the end of the season:

“Somebody will come along for Dibling at the end of the season. I can’t see Southampton doing much about that if they’re relegated.

“They’re going to have to make sales, and he’s the outstanding candidate for that given his value and the level of interest there is in him.

“I think an offer of around £25million would be enough to get that done. I can see him making the move to Tottenham because they’re aiming to buy that sort of player.

“They’ve got Wilson Odobert, Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, Mikey Moore all coming into the team.

“So there are quite a few young players in that team and I think they’ll want to add Dibling to that group.

“I imagine Tottenham will be preparing to make an offer for him at the end of the season.”

Dibling has been a key player for Southampton this season, making 28 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and providing two assists.

The Exeter-born winger could be targeted by multiple Premier League and Bundesliga clubs in the offseason, with RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund also named among his potential suitors.

Tottenham, meanwhile, may look to bring in multiple promising talents this summer, as they also hold an option to make Mathys Tel’s move permanent.

The Lilywhites reportedly have a £50m buy clause, though the Frenchman could opt to reject the transfer and return to Bayern.

Fabrizio Romano: Tottenham Have Already Decided £165k-a-Week Star is Leaving

Description

Timo Werner's time at Tottenham Hotspur looks to be coming to an end, Fabrizio Romano has told GIVEMESPORT's 'Market Madness' podcast - with the option to keep him at the club beyond his loan spell now seen as 'impossible' to be activated.

Werner joined Tottenham on loan a year ago from RB Leipzig, but having somewhat flopped in the Premier League before with Chelsea after just 10 goals in 56 top-flight games for the Blues, that tally has been much worse in north London. Werner has not scored in 17 Premier League attempts this season, notching just one in all competitions from 25 games - and with Spurs having signed Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich in the January window, his future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium looks to be up.

Fabrizio Romano: Werner's Permanent Tottenham Stay is 'Impossible'

The German striker has not impressed at all this season

However, Werner may also not return to Leipzig completely, Romano has revealed - with MLS clubs potentially looking to land him, in particular the New York Red Bulls.

Speaking on GIVEMESPORT's 'Market Madness' podcast, journalist Ben Jacobs asked whether it was 'unlikely' that Werner's release clause would be triggered, but Romano stated that any such situation is now 'impossible', with a move to the USA mooted instead despite nothing concrete occurring in January. Romano said:

"I think you've been nice with unlikely. I think it's impossible. From my information, it's something that they have already decided internally. It was not a good season for Werner and for Spurs together, so I think it's in the interests of both parties to try something different next season.

"So the expectation is for Werner to return to Leipzig, and then to try a new experience. In terms of MLS and New York, what I was hearing in January when this rumour started in the January transfer window, is that there was nothing really concrete into it.

"Let's see for the summer. In January, it was never really close from what I heard."

Werner will be 29 by the end of the season, and having only scored five career goals in the past 18 months, he is in need of a boost elsewhere, especially having picked up a reported wage of £165,000-per-week during his time in the capital.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Timo Werner's only goal this season came against Manchester City in the League Cup.

Tottenham have Tel, Richarlison, Son Heung-min, Mikey Moore and Wilson Odobert who are all capable of playing on the left-flank where Werner operates - and with returns from injury, he would find it extremely difficult to warrant first-team minutes.

Exclusive: Tottenham Increasingly Likely to Sell 'Ridiculous' £100k-a-Week Star

Description

Tottenham Hotspur are entertaining the possibility of offloading Yves Bissouma when the transfer window reopens in the summer after five midfielders have worked their way onto boss Ange Postecoglou's radar as he goes in search of upgrading his options at Hotspur Way, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

Despite landing Mathys Tel a matter of hours ahead of the winter deadline, thanks to Bayern Munich sanctioning an initial loan move which includes an option to be made permanent for £45million, Spurs have already been making plans to make further adjustments to their squad in preparation for next season.

Antonin Kinsky and Kevin Danso were also among the mid-season arrivals in north London, with the latter's switch having an obligation to buy for £20.9million, but Tottenham are open to overseeing departures in the coming months as it would allow them to boost their budget and secure quickfire replacements.

Bissouma Facing an Uncertain Future at Spurs

North Londoners not rushing into contract talks with 28-year-old

Tottenham are increasingly likely to sell Bissouma during the summer transfer window, according to GMS sources, as there are no indications that the capital club are preparing to hold discussions over a new contract despite already entering the final 18 months of his current agreement.

The 28-year-old Mali international, who is on a deal which allows him to pocket £100,000-per-week, is facing an uncertain future and there is an awareness at Spurs that his precarious situation could result in interested parties sniffing an opportunity to pounce when they aim to make changes to their squad ahead of next term.

GMS sources have been informed that Bissouma is on course to be among the big-names Tottenham look to offload after Postecoglou has grown impatient due to his injury concerns and inconsistent performances in a campaign which has seen the north Londoners fall off the pace in the race for a European qualification berth.

There is not optimism that Spurs will rush into holding internal talks with the central midfielder, who has been described as 'ridiculous' by teammate James Maddison, over fresh terms despite attempting to tie Rodrigo Bentancur down to a long-term deal in the final months of the campaign.

Tottenham have been alerted to the fact that Bissouma has struggled to rediscover his best form in the aftermath of spending an initial £25million to lure him away from Brighton & Hove Albion in June 2022, GMS sources have learned, resulting in them considering their options and eyeing a potential replacement.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Yves Bissouma has been limited to 1,079 minutes of Premier League action this season and was forced to contend with substitute outings in Tottenham Hotspur's last two top flight encounters against Manchester United and Ipswich Town

Postecoglou Could Finalise Move for Cardoso

United States international was subject of pre-agreed deal last year

GMS sources have been told that Tottenham are showing interest in five midfielders in the midst of there being growing uncertainty over whether Bissouma will still be on their books by the time the 2025/26 campaign gets underway, with a move for Real Betis' Johnny Cardoso not being ruled out.

Spurs are already aware that they have an opportunity to land the United States international as, in August, the north Londoners agreed a deal which gives them a priority option to buy him and they will profit from a sell-on clause if they opt against pouncing and he embarks on a fresh challenge elsewhere.

Tottenham have been trying to tie Angel Gomes down to a pre-contract agreement ahead of leaving Lille as a free agent, GMS sources understand, while Hugo Larsson, Adam Wharton and Andy Diouf - of Eintracht Frankfurt, Crystal Palace and Lens respectively - are also being linked despite Archie Gray being likely to be utilised in his preferred position in the future.

Postecoglou is not only looking to strengthen in the middle of the park as GMS sources recently revealed that Southampton winger Tyler Dibling and Borussia Dortmund talisman Jamie Gittens have been identified as key targets as Spurs go in search of securing fresh homegrown talent.

Tottenham Hotspur are showing interest in a summer move for Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi, according to InterLive.

The Lilywhites reportedly tried to sign the Italy international last summer and are intensifying their efforts once again ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

They are ‘trying to convince’ Inter to sell the midfielder, and it is believed that a €30m (£25m) offer would be enough to lure him to North London.

Frattesi was close to leaving Inter in January and was targeted by Serie A giants Roma, where he spent three years as a youngster until 2017.

Tottenham Eyeing Davide Frattesi

Inter willing to sell the 25-year-old

According to reports, Inter are open to selling Frattesi this summer after he struggled for regular minutes under Simone Inzaghi.

The 25-year-old has made just five Serie A starts in 2024/25, along with 15 appearances off the bench, scoring four goals and providing two assists.

Frattesi, praised as 'world-class' by Pro Future Stars, joined Inter permanently from Sassuolo last summer and has more than three years left on his contract, which runs until June 2028.

InterLive claim the final decision on his move to Spurs will depend on the player himself, as he remains focused on the season with Inter, who are battling for back-to-back Serie A titles.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Frattesi has made 30 appearances across all competitions this term, including seven in the Champions League.

Tottenham are anticipating a busy summer transfer window and are also keeping an eye on reinforcements for their frontline.

According to GIVEMESPORT sources, the Lilywhites are eyeing offseason deals for Southampton starlet Tyler Dibling and Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.

They have identified both promising wingers as key targets after implementing a fresh transfer strategy to boost their homegrown quota ahead of next season.

Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester City Predictions and Betting Tips for Premier League Game

Submitted by daniel on
Picture

Description

Manchester City will be looking to bounce back at the first attempt from their weekend defeat when they travel to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Wednesday evening (UK time).

Pep Guardiola’s side lost 2-0 at home to Liverpool on Sunday afternoon, although there was no shame in being second-best against the current Premier League leaders. That defeat aside, City’s recent form has been pretty good, so they should be quietly confident as they head to north London for this fixture.

Before the setback against Liverpool, Manchester City had won three (W3-D0-L1) of their previous four Premier League fixtures. The defeat in that run came against Arsenal, so they have only lost recently against the top two.

Even more instructive is seeing how City have fared against sides that, like Tottenham, are currently in the bottom-half of the table. In such matches, City are W4-D2-L0, which would be another reason to be confident ahead of this trip.

It is worth noting, however, that three of their four wins vs sides currently in the bottom-half of the table were against the bottom three. The clubs in question – Ipswich Town, Leicester City, and Southampton – look the division’s weakest, and potentially by some distance.

For a more accurate guide to how this game might unfold, it is perhaps more pertinent to consider solely City’s away matches vs bottom-half sides above the bottom three. Their W1-D2-L0 record in such games suggests they may not have things all their own way here.

The head-to-head record indicates the same thing. City lost the reverse Premier League fixture 4-0 at home to Tottenham on November 23. They also lost 2-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when these two sides met in the EFL Cup on October 30.

Tottenham are eight places (12th vs fourth) and 11 points behind City in the Premier League standings. Their home form is a concern: they are W1-D1-L3 from their last five Premier League fixtures in front of their own fans.

Their home form against sides that, like Manchester City, are currently in the top six is also a concern: Tottenham are W0-D0-L3 in such fixtures this season. They lost 6-3 to Liverpool, 1-0 to Arsenal, and 2-1 to Newcastle United.

Best bet

As our odds table above shows, Manchester City are 2.05 (21/20) favourites to win. Tottenham Hotspur are 12/5 (3/4), while the Draw is 16/5 (4.2).

While we understand Tottenham being the underdogs, do the visitors really deserve to be as short as 2.05 to win? Those odds are the market’s way of saying that the visitors have a 49 percent chance of collecting all three points.

Given that City have won just one of three away games vs sides currently in the bottom-half of the table above the bottom three, and have lost both previous head-to-head encounters against Tottenham this season, we would have some reservations about backing Guardiola’s players to pick up all three points from this midweek trip.

Taking all factors into account, we would rather look elsewhere for picks on the game.

High Goals the Smart Selection

The strongest trend on games involving these two sides this season has been the propensity goals, and lots of them.

Eighteen of Tottenham’s 26 Premier League games have featured Over 2.5 Goals (ranking them third in the division in this particular category). City have gone one better: 19 of their 26 Premier League games have featured Over 2.5 Goals (ranking them second). In other words, 71 percent of these sides' combined Premier League games have featured three or more goals this season.

The same applies to 10 of Tottenham’s 13 home matches and nine of City’s 13 away matches. So 73 percent of the relevant home and away games have had three or more goals as well.

Given these stats, it is not surprising to find that Over 2.5 Goals is a short price of 1.33 (1/3) on this game. For that reason, you may prefer to look at Over 3 or Over 3.5 Goals instead.

Twelve of Tottenham’s 26 matches and 12 of City’s 26 matches (46 percent of their total games) have featured four or more goals. The same applies to seven of Tottenham’s 13 home matches, and nine of City’s 13 away matches. This second Over 3.5 Goals trend is especially strong: 62 percent of the relevant home and away games have featured three or more goals.

Best bet

As our odds table above shows, Over 3.5 Goals is available at a best-priced 1.85 (17/20). The statistics on Tottenham’s home games and Manchester City’s away games point so strongly towards this being a high-scoring encounter that we are happy to make Over 3.5 Goals our main pick on the game.

Top selection – Over 3.5 Goals (1.85)

Split Your Stakes on This Special Selection

In a game the market expects to be high-scoring, one of the props (or special) bets worth considering is in the To Score In Both Halves market.

Tottenham are 3.0 (2/1) to score in both halves, with Manchester City 2.25 (5/4) to do the same.

It would be no surprise if either or potentially both sides scored twice in the game. That is not the same, of course, as saying that we expected them to score in both halves. But the odds on them doing so have some appeal given that we expect the game to be high scoring.

Best bet

Rather than backing one or other team in the To Score In Both Halves market, our suggestion would be to split your stakes across the two teams. By doing so, you would make a profit if either of the teams scores in both halves (as well as, of course, if both do).

Tottenham Make Contact to Sign Forward who 'Walks Into Every Premier League XI'

Tottenham Hotspur are seriously considering a summer move for Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha, according to Fichajes.

The Lilywhites are reportedly contemplating triggering the 25-year-old’s £62m release clause after ‘making contact’ with Cunha in recent weeks.

Spurs view the Brazilian as a long-term replacement for Son Heung-min and a signing with significant potential for the future.

Cunha signed a new Wolves contract in January, but that has not ruled out a possible departure at the end of the season, with multiple Premier League clubs monitoring his situation.

Tottenham Want Matheus Cunha

To bolster Ange Postecoglou’s frontline

According to Fichajes, Cunha’s impressive season at Wolves has drawn interest from several English sides, with Arsenal and Chelsea also considering a move for the 25-year-old.

His release clause has left the door open for a potential summer exit, with a ‘fierce’ battle expected for his signature in the coming months.

Tottenham were linked with Cunha in January before he signed a new Molineux contract until June 2029 and ended speculation over his future for the time being.

The Brazilian international, who could 'walk into every Premier League XI', has been a key factor in Wolves’ battle for survival this term, scoring 13 goals and providing four assists in 25 top-flight appearances.

GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Cunha ranks seventh among Premier League top scorers this season, with Mohamed Salah leading the charts on 25 goals.

Spurs are anticipating for a busy summer transfer window but may have an in-house solution for Son’s long-term replacement, as they hold an option to buy Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel at the end of the campaign.

The French attacker joined the North London club on a short-term loan in February, and Tottenham are reportedly optimistic about securing his permanent arrival this summer.

Tottenham Keen on 'Incredible' Manager as Postecoglou Decision Made

Tottenham Hotspur are admirers of Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola but are still keeping faith in Ange Postecoglou amid their difficult Premier League season, journalist Ben Jacobs has exclusively told GIVEMESPORT.

Spurs reportedly have no plans to part ways with the Australian as of now and have not begun looking at alternatives, despite links with Iraola earlier this month.

While the 42-year-old is appreciated in North London, the Lilywhites still ‘want to back’ Postecoglou and do not see an urgency to draw up a shortlist of potential replacements at this stage of the campaign.

Spurs Admirers of Andoni Iraola

Yet to make an approach for the 42-year-old

Jacobs, speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, has revealed that Tottenham have yet to make an approach for Iraola despite being linked with the Spaniard in recent weeks:

“It's true that Tottenham appreciate Andoni Iraola, but it's nothing more than that at this stage, they've not made any kind of approach.

“They've not crystallised any kind of post-Ange plan, because they want to back Postecoglou.

“So if, hypothetically, there's a vacancy, you would expect Iraola to be further discussed.

“But there isn't a vacancy right now, and there isn't an urgency to draw up that shortlist at this stage of the season.”

Iraola, now in his second season on the Dorset coast, has enjoyed immense success at Bournemouth, leading them to their best-ever Premier League finish in 12th last term and aiming even higher this campaign.

The Cherries are sitting sixth in the table with 12 games to go and look well-placed to push for European qualification for the first time in their history.

Iraola, praised as 'incredible' by Pep Guardiola, will enter the final 12 months of his Bournemouth contract in the summer and is thought to be on the radar of multiple Premier League clubs, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Tottenham, meanwhile, have extended their winning streak to three in the Premier League, beating Ipswich Town 4-1 away on Saturday.

They are 12th in the table and 10 points behind Bournemouth ahead of Wednesday’s home clash with Manchester City.
