Things aren’t looking good for Tottenham Hotspur. Already dealing with their own set of domestic problems on the pitch, the latest issue revolves around a transfer debacle involving their star player, Son Heung-min. The South Korean winger’s future is reportedly uncertain, as his contract is set to expire in the summer. This has left Son ‘aggrieved,’ as he may be looking at the exit door.

The upcoming summer also sees him complete his 10 years at the London-based club, having arrived in 2015 from Bayer Leverkusen for £22 million ($23 million). But reaching this milestone is the least Heung-min is concerned about as the 32-year-old is allegedly frustrated over his future not being sorted out now.

That only saw former Spurs scout Bryan King express his disbelief over the delay in the new deal for their star winger. “This should have been sorted out three or four months ago,” King began during an exclusive chat with Tottenham News. “It is ridiculous. This is a player of quality who has given his football career to Tottenham. Since he joined the football club, up until the present day, there couldn’t have been a better servant.”

Ever since arriving in north London, Son has netted 169 goals and 90 assists in over 428 appearances. Of course, trophies haven’t been in his luck but the South Korean international has played a crucial role for the club. He has been favored by all the managers including Mauricio Pochettino, Antonio Conte, Nuno Espírito Santo, and Jose Mourinho, who even dubbed him ‘Sonaldo.’

But Tottenham’s silence over his deal is very frustrating for Bryan King and questions whether Son would even consider staying at the club. “Watching the way he has played recently, I question whether 100 percent of his heart is still at Tottenham because I’d certainly feel aggrieved if I were him. I’m not sure whether Son is happy at the moment.”

“How many years has he been at the football club? And he’s been a star virtually from day one,” concluded King, doubting how things will be proceeding from here. While it is surely odd for Tottenham to delay giving a new contract to Son, there is a surprising development in his case!

Fabrizio Romano gives a crucial update on Son Heung-min and Tottenham Hotspur’s contract talk delay

The silence from Daniel Levy and Co. doesn’t mean they don’t intend to keep their star winger. In fact, renowned transfer guru Fabrizio Romano insists the club wants Son to spend his thirties in London. “The expectation is still to activate the option and keep Son at the club until June 2026. That’s the internal feeling at the club since October, waiting for formal steps as it’s always important,” reported Romano.

This would mean that the Spurs will reportedly activate the one-year option and then see how things go. Notably, so far in the current campaign under last season-hired boss Ange Postecoglou, he has made 20 appearances, notching 7 goals and 6 assists across the Premier League, EFL Cup, and Europa League.

The responsibility has somewhat grown more on him ever since Harry Kane’s departure. On top of that, Timo Werner and Richarlison haven’t been productive enough, both struggling to find the back of the net, with only Dominic Solanke proving reliable with his 6 goals so far. This makes it even more crucial for Tottenham to quickly resolve the situation with their star player.

Jets vs. Vikings Weather Forecast: Will It Rain Inside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium? Temperature Report for Week 5

The NFL’s first London game of 2024 promises more British weather than British football. When Sam Darnold leads his red-hot Vikings offense onto Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’s grass surface, he’ll face both the Jets‘ second-ranked pass defense and Mother Nature’s game plan.

The forecast pulls no punches – a steady 65% chance of rain will hang over all four quarters in London. Temperatures will hover at 59°F, with cloud cover blanketing 97% of the sky throughout Sunday’s matchup. The 9 mph southeastern winds might turn those “across the pond” jokes into a weather reality.

For quarterbacks staring down elite defenses, the elements add another layer of challenge. The Vikings’ attack, averaging 8.8 yards per completion behind Darnold’s arm, must adjust to slick conditions. The open-air stadium offers no shelter from the predicted morning showers that could stretch into game time.

Weather conditions at kickoff paint a humid picture: 82% humidity and dropping visibility to 8 miles. That’s not ideal for a passing attack. The 52°F dew point suggests comfortable playing conditions, but the persistent rain threat looms larger than any temperature concerns.

Pete Prisco of CBS Sports predicts a defensive slugfest, forecasting a 19-16 Jets victory. “Sam Darnold is playing at an MVP level,” Prisco notes, “But facing this Jets defense will be a real challenge.” Add rain to that equation, and both offenses might find themselves swimming upstream.

Can Darnold’s hot streak survive?

The weather timing couldn’t be worse for Minnesota’s quarterback. Darnold enters London riding a historic wave – he’s the only NFL QB in the Super Bowl era to start 4-0 while throwing multiple touchdowns in each game. His league-leading 11 touchdown passes and 118.9 passer rating have turned heads across the Atlantic.

But the Jets’ defense brings its storm. They’ve allowed just 128 passing yards per game (second in the NFL) and two passing touchdowns all season. Bleacher Report’s Vince Michelino sees past the weather: “Darnold doesn’t just look like a front-runner for Comeback Player of the Year; he looks like a legitimate MVP candidate through four weeks.”

Aaron Rodgers knows something about playing in rough weather from his Green Bay days. His quick release – averaging 2.48 seconds through Week 3 – might prove crucial on a rainy Sunday. The Jets quarterback hasn’t thrown a turnover-worthy play all season, per PFF’s Dalton Wasserman.

The 62,850-capacity Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will witness this clash of nature and talent. For fans wondering about indoor comfort – this isn’t your typical dome. The open roof means every drop of London rain gets its shot at influencing this cross-conference showdown.
