Description

Tottenham Hotspur fans have made it clear who they want the club to sign this summer, with two players emerging as the standout names in recent search engine results.

Tottenham Hotspur fans will be desperate for a vast improvement next season after what has been a woeful campaign, leaving the club languishing in 14th place in the Premier League.

Regardless of whether Ange Postecoglou remains in charge, this season has laid bare the weaknesses within the squad.

The lack of squad depth, particularly in defence, has been glaring, while the midfield has struggled for consistency, with Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur’s form fluctuating throughout the campaign.

With the summer transfer window approaching, there is growing pressure on the club to rectify these issues, and recent data has revealed the preferences of Tottenham fans.

Tottenham Hotspur fans want Kingsley Coman and Johnny Cardoso

According to Big Fat Links, they have analysed fan search trends across the Premier League over the past month, identifying the players supporters most want their clubs to sign this summer.

For Tottenham fans, the most searched name—aside from former manager Mauricio Pochettino—is Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The French winger has long been regarded as one of Europe’s top attacking talents, and it seems Spurs fans are eager to see him at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with 12,700 Tottenham supporters making searches about him.

Meanwhile, Johnny Cardoso has emerged as the fastest-growing trend, registering 10,100 searches over the same period.

The USA International has been catching the eye, and with Tottenham already holding a £21 million buy clause for Johnny Cardoso, it’s easy to see why fans are keeping tabs on him.

Spurs’ attacking and midfield concerns driving transfer interest

It’s no surprise that Tottenham fans are hoping for reinforcements on the wings and in midfield, given how inconsistent those areas have been this season.

Brennan Johnson, despite surpassing double figures for goals, still has clear areas for improvement—his dribbling and off-the-ball work rate, in particular, need refining.

As for midfield, Cardoso’s name gaining traction makes sense. Given his recent standout performances, including strong displays against Real Madrid and Real Betis, Spurs supporters have already started to push for Cardoso’s signing.

With a buy option already in place, the club has a decision to make, and fans will be hoping they take action before another team swoops in.

Description

Tottenham Hotspur supporters have made their voices heard, with recent search engine data shedding light on the name they want to replace Ange Postecoglou in the dugout.

Tottenham are reportedly preparing for life after Ange Postecoglou, with Spurs already said to have a shortlist of potential managerial replacements in place, should they decide to part ways with the Australian this summer.

Among the names linked are Brentford boss Thomas Frank, Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola, and Fulham’s Marco Silva, with Iraola reportedly emerging as the frontrunner for the Spurs job.

However, the Lilywhites are believed to be considering a wide range of options, including managers from overseas, as they assess the best path forward.

Mauricio Pochettino tops Tottenham Hotspur fans’ wishlist

Now, new data from Big Fat Links has analysed search habits among English football fans over the past month to gauge who supporters want their clubs to target in the summer window.

For Spurs, one name stands out above the rest: Mauricio Pochettino. The study, which only included searches originating from the UK, focused on the period from 9 February to the end of March, filtering out any lingering noise from the January transfer window.

A breakdown of the Tottenham search results paints a clear picture: Spurs fans’ most-searched-for potential target this summer is Mauricio Pochettino, with 20,400 searches.

Ange Postecoglou addresses talks of a Pochettino return to Spurs

It’s hardly a shock that the Argentine’s name has surfaced, given Pochettino’s recent comments about wanting to return to Tottenham one day, claiming he has “unfinished business” at the club.

Postecoglou has since addressed Spurs’ managerial shortlist, acknowledging that the candidates are all outstanding options.

When questioned about Pochettino’s remarks, the current Tottenham boss responded: “Mauricio, if he wants to come back one day, I hope it happens for him.

“We all have dreams and aspirations, if that’s what he wants. You’re suggesting that he’s trying to put pressure on me?

“Well, I don’t feel disrespected. I think if you ask Mauricio that question directly, you’d get a pretty clear answer as to what his intent was. Again, nothing from me to sort of be consumed with. I’m more focused on trying to make sure we win tomorrow night,”

Description

Days after it was confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur will be playing a North London derby in Hong Kong during pre-season, it has now been revealed that the club are in talks over playing a friendly against another Premier League team in Asia this summer.

Over the past month, plenty of rumours have been doing the rounds on Tottenham’s pre-season plans to tour Asia, but nothing official was forthcoming from the club.

That finally changed earlier this week as Spurs confirmed that they will be playing Arsenal in Hongkong this summer, which will be the first North London derby played outside UK soil.

The fixture is scheduled for Thursday, 31 July 2025 at the newly opened 50,000-seater Kai Tak Stadium, and it has now emerged that Spurs might also play another English side during their tour to Asia.

Tottenham in talks to face Premier League club in Seoul

The Daily Mail have now revealed that Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are currently in talks over playing a pre-season friendly in Korea.

Spurs have travelled to Korea for pre-season twice in the last three years, and if this update is to be believed, they are set to do so again this summer.

The report says that it is now a ‘strong possibility’ that the Magpies and the Lilywhites will take on one another in Seoul.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Newcastle are currently said to be holding discussions to play two games in the country: one against Tottenham and the other against the K-League All-Star side, but final confirmation is still awaited on these fixtures.

Could Hueng-min Son’s future at Tottenham impact their pre-season plans?

There is no hiding from the fact that it is the commercial benefits that are attracting Tottenham to South Korea, given Heung-min Son’s popularity in his home country.

However, the Spurs captain enters the final year of his contract this June and is not guaranteed to be at the club beyond this summer.

Some sources have said over recent weeks that Tottenham are open to cashing in on Son this summer if they receive a lucrative offer for the forward.

Four key Tottenham stars are likely to be rested against Southampton - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham are reportedly expected to wrap four of their senior men in cotton wool for the clash against Eintracht Frankfurt, with Ange Postecoglou set to ring the changes for the Southampton game on Sunday.

Given the position that Tottenham Hotspur find themselves in the league table at the moment, the remaining Premier League matches are of very little consequence for the club, whose attention will shift to the Europa League.

Eintracht Frankfurt visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the first leg of the quarterfinal next Thursday, and Postecoglou will want to ensure that his key men are sharp for the fixture.

It has now been predicted that the Lilywhites will make some big changes to the side, with one Spurs defender expected to be given time to recover from illness.

Four senior Spurs stars likely to be benched against Southampton

The Standard claims that Micky van de Ven, Heung-min Son and James Maddison are all likely to drop down to the bench for the clash against the Saints, with all three of them expected to be saved for the first leg against Frankfurt.

MORE SPURS STORIES

The outlet reveals that Djed Spence could also be saved for the clash against the German side next Thursday after coming down with a bout of illness.

Pedro Porro, who was rested against Chelsea, is thus expected to slot back into the right-back role on Sunday, while the publication also predicts that either Brenan Johnson or Mathys Tel will replace Son in the starting eleven.

The Standard’s predicted eleven to face Southampton: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Davies, Udogie; Bergvall, Bentancur, Sarr; Johnson, Solanke, Odobert

Tottenham could be boosted by the return of forward

Radu Dragusin, Kevin Danso and Dejan Kulusevski remain sidelined for Ange Postecoglou’s side, but it was reported a couple of days ago that Richarlison is on the verge of returning to action.

That particular update claimed that the is expected to be available for the first leg of the quarterfinal against Eintracht Frankfurt.

However, this latest report from The Standard says that Richarlison is in line to be part of Tottenham’s matchday squad against Southampton, although he may not be ready to start.

Description

An underconfident Tottenham Hotspur side return home to face the Premier League’s bottom dwellers, Southampton, on Sunday afternoon.

If you look at Spurs’ recent form or their last couple of games, it ruins your mood when you think they’re going to carry this form when they play Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League quarter-finals next week. But then there’s a bit of hope; Southampton – everyone’s taking advantage of them, so why not Spurs?

What time does Tottenham Hotspur vs Southampton kick-off?

Location: London, England

Stadium: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Date: Sunday 6th April 2025

Kick-off Time: 2 pm BST

Referee: Michael Salisbury

VAR: Graham Scott

How both teams go into Tottenham Hotspur vs Southampton

Apparently, a two-week rest and a fully fit squad are still not enough for Ange Postecoglou to win games. That’s exactly what we saw in their 1-0 defeat to Chelsea two days ago.

It wasn’t the worst performance, considering we’ve seen worse with that same scoreline this season, but you’d definitely expect better from what was supposedly Spurs’ strongest XI in a long time. Anyway, it was just another day at Stamford Bridge.

After that result, Spurs have just one win in their last seven in all competitions, with four losses. They sit 14th in the table with 34 points, level with Everton at 15th. Notably, they haven’t scored a goal in all four of those defeats. Before the international break, they also lost 2-0 to Fulham.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Bottom of the table and one defeat away from confirming relegation are Southampton. With just two wins all season, 24 defeats, and 10 points, it’s hard not to see them playing in the Championship next season.

Relegation would’ve been confirmed if they had lost to Crystal Palace in their previous game, but they finally woke up and played their hearts out. They scored first and kept the lead before conceding in stoppage time, ending the match 1-1. That’s arguably the best they’ve played in a very long time.

Almost Spurs-like, they are winless in their last seven games across all competitions. However, comparing Spurs to Southampton paints the perfect picture of how low the standards have dropped.

Spurs’ head-to-head record vs Southampton

Every team has that one opponent from the relegation zone that they struggle against (at least Spurs do) and for them, it’s Southampton. They have a history of frustrating Spurs from the bottom.

Taking into account just the last four meetings before this season, The Saints have won one, Spurs one, and the other two ended in draws.

Spurs’ record at St. Mary’s is far worse, having won only once in their last six visits. However, this is a home fixture, so the away record will be of lesser importance.

That said, this season has been different. The reverse fixture saw Spurs demolish Southampton 5-0, with all goals coming in the first half alone, leading to the sacking of then-manager Russell Martin. Now, it’s the other team’s manager under pressure.

Tottenham team news

It’s rare for a Tottenham game to go by without an injury. Against Chelsea, it was Micky Van de Ven’s turn, though it wasn’t exactly an injury. Postecoglou described Van de Ven as “cramped up.” Thankfully, everyone else got through the game unscathed.

Richarlison was said to have a chance to feature in this fixture, according to pre-match updates before Chelsea, but he wasn’t mentioned in this game’s press conference.

Kulusevski and Danso remain out for another one or two weeks, while Dragusin is the only long-term absentee.

Southampton team news

Albert Gronbaek, Ugochukwu, Onuachu, Ross Stewart, and William Smallbone are all doubtful. Ryan Fraser is the only confirmed absentee. Flynn Downes misses out due to yellow card accumulation.

Predicted Tottenham Line-Up

Vicario; Porro, Romero, Davies, Udogie; Bergvall, Bissouma, Sarr; Johnson, Richarlison, Tel

Expect most of those who started against Chelsea to be rested due to the short turnaround and more importantly, to keep key players fresh for the Eintracht Frankfurt clash.

If Richarlison isn’t fit, Werner or Moore could start over Solanke. Gray might also start, either in defence or midfield. Van de Ven is unlikely to be risked, which is why Ben Davies gets the nod.

Key players to watch

Brennan Johnson. An odd pick? Maybe. But he looked decent in parts against Chelsea, nearly grabbing an assist and attempting as many duels as he had in his previous two games combined. The reason this stat matters? He’s been criticised for avoiding duels entirely. With Odobert performing well, Johnson will have to prove himself.

Yves Bissouma. Another unusual pick? Perhaps, but he might finally get a chance to redeem himself after a string of inconsistent performances. He had a strong international break with two assists in two games for Mali and wasn’t given any minutes against Chelsea. Like Johnson, he needs to take his chance. That said, Bissouma always shows up against smaller clubs.

Mathys Tel. Fans were frustrated with his late introduction against Chelsea (88th minute), especially since Solanke struggled throughout. Despite playing only a few minutes, Tel had just 10 touches fewer than Solanke, who played the full game. He lacks a bit of confidence, but you can’t not have confidence when you’re playing Southampton’s 3-man-backline.

Tyler Dibling. A long-time target for Spurs, Dibling impressed in the reverse fixture and could do so again. He has won 48.2% of his duels in the league, an impressive stat considering his teammates’ numbers.

Our prediction

Since Ivan Juric took over from Russell Martin, apart from their formation, nothing has changed at Southampton. They remain leaky and disconnected but you never know when teams turn into their prime selves against Spurs.

That said, this fixture comes at the perfect time for Spurs. They couldn’t have asked for a better opponent before their Europa League quarter-final. Given Southampton’s dire form and Spurs’ need for a confidence boost, we predict a comfortable win for the home side.

Ange Postecoglou reveals why he will not stop confronting Tottenham bullies

Ange Postecoglou reveals why he will not stop confronting Tottenham bullies - Spurs Web
Description

Ange Postecoglou has spoken about the verbal confrontations that he has had with Tottenham fans over recent weeks, insisting that he does not regret standing up to disrespectful supporters even if it ends up piling more pressure on him.

Postecoglou has been blasted for cupping his ears to the Spurs fans on Thursday, with the incident only further derailing his relationship with the Tottenham faithful.

However, that is far from the only instance where the Australian has been involved in a heated exchange with Spurs supporters this season.

Ange Postecoglou was also involved in a heated spat with a Tottenham fan at Craven Cottage two weeks ago just before he walked into the dressing room.

Ange Postecoglou explains why he gets involved in confrontations with Tottenham fans

The Tottenham head coach eventually had to be pulled away from the confrontation by his players after he lost his cool following the 2-0 loss to Fulham.

Postecoglou insists that the young fan on that occasion was simply trying to get a reaction from him, insisting that he wanted to teach him a lesson that bullying is not acceptable.

When asked why he engages with fans who criticise him rather than ignoring them, the 59-year-old told Football.London: “That’s a super point, I’m glad you asked me. That’s something I’m definitely going to fight against. If somebody says to you, ‘That was a good article last night but I don’t like that point you made’, you go, ‘OK mate’ and you might just walk off.

MORE SPURS STORIES

“If somebody says (picks up the phone and holds it up, as if recording), ‘Hey, I didn’t like that article’, what do you think they are trying to achieve? What do I think they’re trying to achieve? They’re not really interested in answering the question, they just want a reaction. They want their five minutes of fame because that’s what this (the phone) gives them.

“That’s what I was talking about, right? For young people, this (a phone) is more dangerous than any weapon in the world, as far as I’m concerned. If I don’t pull up, especially young kids, who put up a phone in my face, then what’s stopping them doing that in the schoolyard? What’s stopping them doing that in general life and bullying people? Because it’s a bully mechanism, it’s not criticism.

“Do you think after almost 30 years in the game that I haven’t received abuse? Mate, from the first day, of course. I don’t react to that. But if somebody is holding up a phone, I will react to it because I won’t accept it.

“It might have been the Fulham game where that happened, it was two young boys doing it. I asked them, I don’t know if it’s shown in the clip, I said ‘Where’s your dad?’ I wanted to talk to their dad. Or ‘where’s your mum?’ They got slightly sheepish and embarrassed because it’s not criticism I’m reacting to, it’s them holding up a phone.

“Why are you holding up a phone? What are you trying to do? So you can put it on social media and say, ‘Look, I got Ange Postecoglou to react, isn’t that great’. I can take it, I’m 60 years old, I don’t care. What if they take that in the schoolyard, what if they do that in general life, what if they do that to you?

“Somebody is walking around and not criticising you, because you’ll say, mate, I’m a big boy, I can handle it, but they put a phone in your face to do it. As soon as I see a phone, I’m going to react. I’m not going to accept it.

“Hopefully, I didn’t swear in that, I wasn’t abusive, all I asked was a simple question. I’m always going to do that. Like you said, I’m fighting the good fight, that sounds a bit trite, here’s this old man who is going to rail against society. But as I said at the outset, I’m not going to be one of these people who accept whatever is put in front of them.”

Postecoglou insists he will not accept disrespect

The Tottenham boss insisted that it is not in his nature to simply look the other way if there is disrespect or abuse thrown at him, making it clear that he will continue standing up for himself.

He acknowledged that it might pile more pressure on him but made it clear that he would not shy away from confronting those who try to bully him.

Postecoglou added: “I’m just not at that stage in my life where I’m going to accept people trying to bully you or antagonise me or try to do things that show total disrespect. Again, I’m not talking about somebody just shouting over a fence at me, and that’s happened a few times and I always react to it and I always will.”

When asked why he feels the need to take on that level of social responsibility, he responded: “Because I feel it’s right. Sometimes you’ve just got to do the right thing, mate. It’s what I believe in. I’ve said many times, I’ve made a real conscious effort of not letting the game change me as a person, it’s what I believe in.

“I’m not a perfect human being, I’ve made plenty of mistakes, but there are certain values that I’ll carry through until the day I die. I’ve got kids, I’ve got boys, my wife will ban them having a phone until they are 18 if she can get away with it.

“I really fear for where that kind of thing is heading. I’m not going to accept it. It’s not different to VAR. Obviously it’s a social issue, that’s a football issue, but I’m going to stand up for what I believe is right. People may disagree with me, I understand that. But part of society is having those dissenting voices to ask those questions. I’m happy to take that on.

“I understand the question, that it just piles extra pressure on me, but I don’t see it as pressure, I see it as a responsibility I have while I’m in this public spotlight to call out what I think is not right. I’ll happily take on that responsibility.”

Description

Former PGMOL chief and ex-FIFA official Keith Hackett believes that Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea will both be charged after an unsavoury incident in the London derby at Stamford Bridge on Thursday.

Enzo Fernadez’s second-half goal proved the difference between the two sides, consigning Ange Postecoglou to his fourth defeat in his four matches in charge against Chelsea.

The main talking point from the game has been Postecoglou’s controversial ear-cupping gesture to Spurs fans, which has seen the Australian’s already strained relationship with the supporters seemingly hit rock bottom.

However, it is another incident from the game that is expected to come under close scrutiny by the authorities.

Keith Hackett explains why Tottenham and Chelsea players could be charged

Towards the end of the first half, referee Craig Pawson blew for a foul just outside the Chelsea penalty area.

Levi Colwill picked the ball up as he appeared to question that decision, prompting Cristian Romero to run over to the Chelsea man, who fell to the ground after appearing to have been shoved in the chest by the Spurs vice-captain.

That led to a clash between the two teams, with numerous players getting involved in a melee – including a heated exchange between Rodrigo Bentancur and Trevoh Chalobah.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Keith Hackett believes that Pawson handled the incident well and he expects the authorities to charge both clubs with failing to control their players.

Hackett told Football Insider: “In the first half of the Chelsea vs Spurs game we witnessed a mass confrontation between both sets of players after a player had been pushed to the ground.

“Craig Pawson carried out the mass confrontation protocol really well. At the end of this game, he will issue a report to the football authorities detailing what has taken place. As a result of that I expect both clubs to be charged with failing to control their players.”

James Maddison urges Spurs fans to keep faith

Thursday night was the latest in a long list of lacklustre performances Tottenham have delivered this season, especially away from home.

Speaking after the game, Maddison admitted that Spurs fans have every right to be angry and admitted that he and his teammates are desperately trying to get answers to why they are not getting results in the Premier League.

Five biggest losers from Tottenham Hotspur’s dismal defeat to Chelsea

Five biggest losers from Tottenham Hotspur’s dismal defeat to Chelsea - Spurs Web
Description

Tottenham Hotspur failed to get back to winning ways after their 2-0 defeat against Fulham last time out in the league, as they suffered a defeat to yet another London rival, Chelsea, in the Premier League. But who were the biggest losers on Thursday? Let’s find out.

It all went down in the worst possible way for Tottenham Hotspur in their clash against Chelsea on Thursday, as the Lilywhites suffered a painful 1-0 defeat to their London rivals.

So far this season, only the Premier League’s current bottom four teams have lost more games than Ange Postecoglou’s men.

Spurs have also now suffered 16 league defeats in a single campaign for the first time since the 2003/04 season under Glenn Hoddle and David Pleat (19).

These numbers make for grim reading for Postecoglou, a manager brought in to foster a winning culture around N17.

Following Tottenham’s latest defeat, we’ve picked out the five biggest losers from the 1-0 loss at Stamford Bridge…

Ange Postecoglou under pressure after Tottenham Hotspur’s defeat to Chelsea

There’s no better place to start than Postecoglou himself. Not only is he racking up all the wrong records, he’s also beginning to lose the very fans he needs right behind him.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Thursday’s clash was the perfect opportunity for Spurs to show some fight and bounce back with a win—a victory would have kept the fans onside and given them something to hold on to.

Instead, the reverse was the case, and to make matters worse, Postecoglou’s ear-cupping gesture has only widened the rift between him and the supporters. It’s the last thing an under-fire manager needs right now.

Micky van de Ven’s costly error for Chelsea’s goal

Many Spurs fans were understandably delighted to see Micky van de Ven back in the side, especially during such a crucial run-in with an all-important Europa League quarter-final tie on the horizon.

While his presence will be welcomed again on Thursday night against Frankfurt, his defending for Chelsea’s opening goal was nothing short of shambolic.

The Dutchman looked shaky throughout the build-up, uncertain defensively, and completely lost with his marking in the box—which allowed Enzo Fernandez to drift in for a free header, despite being surrounded by Tottenham defenders. That simply has to improve.

Dominic Solanke’s goal drought continues for Spurs

Dominic Solanke continues to labour in front of goal for Tottenham, now without a goal in his last eight outings.

Against Chelsea, he was a complete passenger, offering next to nothing in attack. The Englishman didn’t register a single shot on goal.

For a striker who was brought in to replace Harry Kane’s goals, Solanke’s recent displays have been nowhere near good enough. It’s really that simple—as a striker, you’ve got to find the net.

James Maddison goes missing again for Tottenham Hotspur

James Maddison surely would’ve been hoping to impress on Thursday night, especially with England boss Thomas Tuchel in attendance.

But instead, he put in a performance that belonged in a hall of shame. No creativity, no spark, and once again, he was hooked off.

The 28-year-old needs to find consistency if he wants to be in serious contention for the England squad ahead of the World Cup. That showing at Stamford Bridge most certainly won’t help his cause.

Mathys Tel continues to struggle for trust under Ange Postecoglou

Mathys Tel being thrown on in the 88th minute tells you all you need to know about how much trust Postecoglou has in him. Spurs were chasing the game, and still the manager waited until the dying minutes to bring him on.

Can you really blame Postecoglou? Tel has only scored once since joining Tottenham—a goal that came way back in February in the FA Cup against Aston Villa. The youngster needs to start producing a lot more if he’s going to convince his manager to give him more minutes.

Description

Spurs are in desperate need of a bounce-back, and welcoming the rock-bottom Saints to N17 might just be the perfect chance to steady the ship. Here’s how to watch the clash between Tottenham and Southampton on Sunday.

Tottenham Hotspur’s most recent defeat at the hands of Chelsea means the Lilywhites have now lost more than half of their league matches this season.

Thursday’s 1-0 loss marked Spurs’ 16th league defeat of the campaign — a grim tally they’ve only reached twice and surpassed once in the last decade.

The league campaign is a write-off at this point, but for Ange Postecoglou and his players, picking up points remains essential. It’s all about building momentum and trying to restore a bit of belief.

On Sunday, they host a struggling Southampton side — the same team they tore apart 5-0 the last time they met in the league.

When and where is the game?

The Premier League clash takes place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, 6th April 2025, with kick-off set for 2:00 PM (UK time).

How to watch Tottenham Hotspur vs Southampton in the UK

For fans in the UK, the match won’t be shown live on television, meaning supporters will need to head to the stadium to catch the action in person.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Tottenham Hotspur vs Southampton team news

Ange Postecoglou is still dealing with a few injury issues ahead of this one. Dejan Kulusevski remains out with a foot problem, and Radu Dragusin is continuing his recovery from an ACL injury. Richarlison is also a doubt for the game.

Micky van de Ven, who was taken off early midweek, has been declared fit after a minor scare, which will come as a relief. Kevin Danso, meanwhile, is sidelined with a hamstring problem.

Southampton have their own injury headaches — Flynn Downes is suspended, Albert Gronbaek is doubtful with a strain, while both Lesley Ugochukwu and Paul Onuachu are touch-and-go after picking up knocks.

Ross Stewart remains a doubt with a calf issue, and Ryan Fraser isn’t expected back until late April. William Smallbone is also doubtful after a groin concern.

Spurs Web Prediction

It’s definitely a must-win game for Tottenham Hotspur, who are now four games without a win in the Premier League.

Hosting 20th-placed Southampton, who are nailed on for the drop, offers them their most straightforward fixture in weeks — and Postecoglou will be grateful for the opportunity to rotate Spurs squad.

Given the opposition and the need for fresh legs, rotation should be expected and welcomed, but it shouldn’t take too much away from the level of performance Spurs are capable of producing.

Tottenham and Richarlison reach transfer decisions as striker’s plans are revealed - Spurs Web
Description

A new report from Brazil has shed light on where Tottenham Hotspur and Richarlison currently stand regarding a potential summer transfer and the kind of clubs that are keeping a close eye on the striker’s situation at the moment.

Injuries have prevented Richarlison from fulfilling his potential at Tottenham Hotspur and a summer exit now looks on the cards for the former Everton man.

Spurs reportedly turned down offers for Richarlison in January, but they are said to be prepared to cut their losses on the player this summer.

Over recent weeks, it has been revealed that Everton are plotting a move to re-sign Richarlison, and a new report has now revealed what the player’s stance is about his future and his next destination.

Tottenham and Richarlison’s transfer stances revealed

A report in Goal Brazil says that, as things stand, the Selecao man’s future looks to be ‘far’ away from Spurs.

They claim that even though Richarlison’s contract runs until 2027, Tottenham are ‘willing to listen to offers’ to offload him. The player himself is also very much open to leaving in search of a new challenge after three seasons at N17.

The report adds that the Lilywhites are expecting ‘concrete approaches’ for the versatile striker this summer, but the player has a clear preference regarding the kind of club he wants to join.

Richarlison wants to compete for titles

Goal Brazil revealed that Palmeiras, Fluminense and Flamengo tried to take the Tottenham man back to Brazil in January, but he turned them down to stay at Hotspur Way.

All three clubs are continuing to monitor Richarlison ahead of the summer window and could make another approach.

It is unclear if the former Everton man is open to returning to Brazil, but the publication asserts that he wants to join a side where he can regain his form and ‘compete for titles’.
