Tottenham are prepared to activate Eberechi Eze’s release clause to secure his transfer from Crystal Palace.

The North London club are looking for ways to further reinforce their squad ahead of next season. Ange Postecoglou wants to ensure he has the needed depth and quality to take the next step with Tottenham. According to a report from talkSPORT, Spurs are keen on signing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace and they are ready to trigger his release clause.

Eze has had a sensational rise since joining the Eagles back in 2020. He was involved in 31 matches last season and ended up contributing towards 17 goals (11 goals, 6 assists). The attacking midfielder’s consistent performances have helped him secure a place in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the Euros.

While he still has three years left on his deal at Selhurst Park, the Eagles will find it hard to keep hold of him given the amount of interest in his signature. Spurs are the ones keen on signing him as they look to add more firepower to their attack. Eze could be a great addition to their squad as he can compete with James Maddison for a place in the starting XI and can also feature on the flanks when needed.

The English international is believed to have a release clause of around £60 million in his current contract and Spurs will look to trigger it once they are able to offload a few of their players and make room in their wage bill.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Emerson Royal are two players who are expected to leave the club in the coming days. Their departure could given them the needed financial aid to bring Eze to the club.

Real Betis chief has revealed that a deal to sign Giovani Lo Celso from Tottenham is a remote possibility for now.

Lo Celso made the move from Betis to Tottenham in the summer of 2019. It was an initial loan move that became permanent in the following summer. The North London club forked out a significant fee to bring him to the club. But, unfortunately, the player hasn’t hit the expected heights.

The Argentine international has fallen down the pecking order under Ange Postecoglou and with his contract running out in 12 months, he has been linked with a move away. Multiple reports have suggested a possible return to Real Betis but according to the Spanish club’s sporting director Manu Fajardo, there is nothing on the cards yet.

Mucho Deporte covered the comments made by the Betis chief Fajardo during a press conference on Tuesday.

While talking about the possibility of bringing Lo Celso back to the club, he said: “He is a Tottenham player, and we owe respect to his entity. He left very good memories here, but it is still a remote option.”

Although Postecoglou was keen on having the player at his disposal for the 2023/24 season, the Australian manager barely used him. While he was involved in 24 matches, the 28-year-old was on the pitch for less than 600 minutes. He seems to be surplus to requirements at Tottenham and the North London outfit are hoping to cash in on him for the right price.

Betis admire Lo Celso given the kind of impact he had back in the day and they feel he could help with the potential departure of Nabil Fekir. But, the possibility of signing him again is unlikely for now.

Tottenham are not only focused on strengthening their squad for the upcoming season but also working on additions to the staff members.

Spurs have officially announced the addition of three new members to Ange Postecoglou’s team, marking an improvement of their technical side.

Matt Wells has taken the role of Senior Assistant Coach, replacing Chris Davies, who recently took over as manager at Birmingham City.

Wells, who has been with the club as Assistant Coach since April 2023, previously served in assistant roles at Fulham, Bournemouth, and Club Brugge, working under Scott Parker in all those stints.

In addition to Wells’ promotion, Nick Montgomery and Sergio Raimundo have been appointed as Assistant Coaches.

They will begin their roles at the start of pre-season, with Sergio’s appointment subject to a work permit.

Head Coach Ange Postecoglou expressed his enthusiasm for these additions.

He praised Matt Wells’ outstanding coaching abilities and work ethic, noting that his promotion to Senior Assistant Coach is well-deserved.

Postecoglou also highlighted the extensive coaching experience that both Nick and Sergio bring to the club, commending their commitment to developing young talent and their alignment with the football philosophy he aims to instil at Tottenham.

As quoted by the club’s website, the Australian manager said:

“I’m delighted that Matt has been appointed Senior Assistant Coach. He’s an outstanding young coach who has a great work ethic and attention to detail. He thoroughly deserves this opportunity.

“It’s also great to have Nick and Sergio join the Club, and they will add to the talented coaches we already have on the staff here.

“Both Nick and Sergio have a wealth of coaching experience over a number of years. They have already demonstrated a strong desire to both develop young talent and implement a football style that I believe will further strengthen the environment we have established. I’m looking forward to working with them.”

This announcement comes amid Spurs’ ongoing efforts to bolster their coaching staff following recent departures.

The club had earlier seen the exit of Chris Davies to Birmingham City and strength and conditioning coach Mark Thrower, who returned to Middlesbrough.

As the Lilywhites prepare for the upcoming season, these new coaching appointments underscore the club’s dedication to continuous improvement.

Tottenham have been linked with a surprise move for West Ham ace.

Spurs have been exploring multiple high-profile transfer targets, with the latest being England star Jarrod Bowen.

According to HITC, the Lilywhites have expressed interest in the England international, enquiring about a possible move during this transfer window.

The report claims the Spurs approached West Ham about the player’s availability but the Hammers swiftly rejected it, making it clear that the player is not for sale.

Bowen recently extended his contract with the Hammers last October, committing to a long-term deal that keeps him in East London until 2030.

West Ham have reportedly set a hefty price tag of £150 million to even consider parting with their key player.

Given this high valuation, it’s unlikely that the Spurs would proceed with a move for Bowen, despite their initial inquiry.

The 27-year-old forward was recently selected for England’s final 26-man squad for the ongoing European Championship, featuring in both matches for the Three Lions so far.

This underscores his value at both the club and international levels.

Bowen had an outstanding season with West Ham, leading to his selection by Gareth Southgate.

He scored 20 goals and provided 10 assists in 44 appearances across all competitions last season, demonstrating his proficiency in both goal-scoring and playmaking.

With Dejan Kulusevski already in Ange Postecoglou’s squad, it’s improbable that the Lilywhites would invest a substantial amount in another right-winger.

However, Tottenham’s interest in Jarrod Bowen highlights their ambition and willingness to consider some of the best players in the league to strengthen their team for the upcoming season.

Tottenham are close to securing a new attacking talent this summer.

Spurs have reportedly agreed on personal terms with Sebastian Szymanski ahead of a potential move from Fenerbahce.

That’s according to the latest from Turkish outlet Aslinda, which claims that the negotiations between Tottenham and Fenerbahce are nearing completion, paving the way for Szymanski’s transfer to North London.

The Polish international has reportedly agreed to a four-year contract with the Lilywhites.

However, discussions between the two clubs continue as they work towards finalizing the transfer fee.

Spurs initially offered €17.5 million, but the report claims that the club are expected to come back with a revised offer for the player.

Szymanski joined Fenerbahce last season for €9.75 million on a four-year contract and quickly became a key player, attracting interest from several top European clubs.

Despite being under contract until 2027 and highly valued by Fenerbahce’s new manager Jose Mourinho, the forward appears set for a move to the Lilywhites.

Tottenham have been closely monitoring Szymanski, particularly during the ongoing European Championship, where he represents Poland.

The 24-year-old had an impressive campaign last season, scoring 13 goals and providing 19 assists in 55 appearances across all competitions for Fenerbahce.

His impressive stats underscore his offensive prowess and defensive contributions, as he ranked joint-first in tackles won (61) in the Turkish Super Lig.

Once the transfer fee is agreed upon, Szymanski is expected to undergo a medical to finalise his move to Spurs.

His addition would significantly enhance Tottenham’s attacking options as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Tottenham Hotspur continues to be linked with a move for the Feyenoord defender Lutsharel Geertruida.

According to Footmercato, Liverpool are keen on the player as well. The report states that the versatile defender is a man in demand this summer. Spurs are ‘on the trail’ of Geertruida and it remains to be seen whether they can win the race for his signature.

The 23-year-old defender is versatile enough to operate as a central defender, a full-back on either flank as well as a wing-back. He could prove to be the ideal squad player for Tottenham if they can get the deal done. He scored eight goals last season and picked up five assists in the league last season.

He is in the final year of his contract with Feyenoord and therefore he could be available for a reasonable price this summer. Tottenham must do everything in their power to get the deal done.

Emerson Royal has been linked with a move away from the club, and he will need to be replaced adequately. The 23-year-old seems like the ideal fit.

The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be an attractive one for Geertruida as well. Tottenham and Liverpool are amongst the biggest clubs in the country and the option to play for them will be hard to turn down for the defender.

Liverpool are looking to add more quality and depth to the defensive unit as well and the 23-year-old certainly fits the profile. They have the resources to get the deal done as well. It will be interesting to see if they can beat Spurs to his signature.

Emerson Royal and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg have been linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Both players have fallen down the pecking order at the north London club and they need to leave in order to play regularly. According to a report from Corriere Dello Sport, AC Milan could soon begin negotiations with Tottenham regarding the two players. They are keen on signing the Brazilian right-back as well as the Denmark international.

Emerson has been a backup option to Pedro Porro and Hojbjerg has been a squad player this past season. A move to Milan could help them play more often and it remains to be seen whether the Italian outfit can secure an agreement with Spurs.

The North London side need to get rid of their deadwood in order to improve their squad and selling the two players will be a priority for them.

Emerson is capable of operating on both flanks and he could be a useful option at the back for Milan. Hojbjerg has proven himself in the Premier League as well. He would certainly help them improve in the midfield.

It remains to be seen whether Spurs are prepared to sell them for a reasonable price. Emerson is reportedly valued at around €20 million. Hojbjerg could be available for a nominal price as well.

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.

Both players need a fresh start and move to Italy would be ideal for them. Milan are one of the biggest clubs in the world and they could provide the two players with the platform to compete for major trophies.
