'Signing somebody is not enough' - Arteta says Arsenal can win league without buying a new forward

Postecoglou believes fixture congestion and his side's style of play have contributed to the number of injuries his players have suffered this season.

"I think it is probably a combination of different things," he said. "The amount of fixtures, the way we play.

"I guess the challenging thing for us is that quite a few of our injuries have been re-injuries which is something we're looking at."

Rodrigo Bentancur will miss the match due to suspension, while Richarlison, Mikey Moore, Ben Davies, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero will not return until later this month.

Postecoglou also revealed that a bug had disrupted Tottenham's training schedule ahead of Saturday's match.

"None of the injured lads are back yet," he said.

"We've had a bit of an illness bug running through the camp too, so a few have missed training, but we'll be alright."

Newcastle: Botman could feature at Spurs

Sven Botman could return at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in March.

Newcastle have been in fine form of late, winning their last four Premier League fixtures.

Magpies manager Eddie Howe admits that the defender is in his thoughts ahead of the trip to north London.

"He's worked incredibly hard to get himself in a good condition," he said.

"He's had three games, a lot of internal training as well.

"He's certainly in and around my thoughts.

"I'll have to make a decision on who I think best fits that position. [It is] great to have Sven in and around and available again.

"I've got a decision to make in terms of team selection, but if Sven is in the squad it's because he's fit and available."

Nottingham Forest: Duo possibly returning

Nuno Espirito Santo believes Callum Hudson-Odoi and Murillo could be back in time to face Wolves on Monday.

Nottingham Forest are currently third in the table after a great start to the season, but Wolves have impressed since former boss Gary O'Neil was replaced by Vitor Pereira.

Nuno will wait until Saturday to make a decision on the pair.

"[Murillo and Callum Hudson-Odoi are] much better. I think so [available for Monday]," he said.

"I think tomorrow we will decide, but I think they’re going to be okay."

Liverpool: Alexander-Arnold to play against Man Utd

Manager Arne Slot insists Trent Alexander-Arnold will play against Manchester United on Sunday despite reports linking him with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

"I can tell you he's [Alexander-Arnold] playing on Sunday and hopefully brings the same performance he's been bringing in the last half a year," said Slot.

"He played an incredible game against West Ham. I see him training hard every day.

"Joe [Gomez] is not in a good place when it comes to his injury, he's out for a few weeks.

"Conor [Bradley] and Ibou [Konate] will train with us today for the first time. They've worked hard to come back for the team.

"The next step is how they'll handle team sessions."

Arsenal: Havertz available for Brighton trip

Kai Havertz looks set to be available for Arsenal's trip to Brighton & Hove Albion after recovering from illness.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta admitted that the players suffering from illness would train ahead of the clash on the South Coast.

"The ones with illness, I think are going to be OK," he said.

"They will train today and if everybody is fine then they will be available."

The Spaniard believes that Raheem Sterling could be back soon, but not in time to face The Seagulls.

Sterling has not played for The Gunners since the 3-2 win over Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup on December 18.

"He is starting to do some stuff on the pitch so that is great news," said Arteta.

Manchester City: Dias not ready yet

Pep Guardiola does not expect Ruben Dias to be back in time for Saturday's match with West Ham.

"[He] is getting better but not ready," said the Spaniard.

Guardiola expects a similar squad to the one that faced Leicester City.

Chelsea: Fofana could miss rest of season

Wesley Fofana has suffered another injury blow, with Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca confirming that he could be out for the rest of the season.

Fofana missed all of last season with an ACL injury, and will now not feature in his side's trip to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

"He could be out for the season, yes," said Maresca. "We don’t know exactly, but could be out for part of the season.

"We are together here since we start and every time you ask me about Wes I say many times - I am in love with Wes, I'm in love with Wes also because he is that kind of defender that gives you a chance to press and be aggressive in one on one on the pitch.

"Difficult to find that kind of player... So yes, Wes is a big loss."

Reece James could return against Palace, and Maresca also said that Romeo Lavia is close to a comeback.

Maresca said: "Reece is back from the last game.

"Romeo is very close, starting to work with us. The rest is not any update.

"Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is still out. Wesley will be out for a very long time and Benoit [Badiashile] will be out at least until February.

"Only two big updates are on Wes and Benoit, they will both be out for a very long time."
