Tottenham Hotspur’s Recent Form and Tactics

Tottenham’s league form has been abysmal recently but their strive for a trophy in Postecoglou’s second season has seen them play better in the cup competitions. Carabao Cup wins over Manchester United and Liverpool came either side of four Premier League games without a win. In midweek, Spurs will face Arsenal at the Emirates in the North London Derby. Coaching staff need to make sure that players are focused on the task at hand or The Lilywhites could face embarrassment against Tamworth.

The potential for an upset expands when you consider some of the results Spurs have had after big wins this season. After beating Aston Villa 4-1 in November, Tottenham then lost 3-2 to Galatasaray in the Europa League and 2-1 at home to Ipswich. Then, after beating Manchester City 4-0, Postecoglou’s men went on a run of five games without a win. The Lilywhites need to keep their focus against Tamworth to keep momentum and show some consistency.

The team news is out, and Ange Postecoglou has made six changes from the Liverpool game. Sergio Reguilon comes in at left-back, replacing Djed Spence. Matar Sarr and James Maddison start in midfield instead of Lucas Bergvall and the injured Rodrigo Bentancur.
