Spurs will be looking for their first Premier League win for over a month when they play Leicester City at 2 pm on January 26. Ange Postecoglou’s side did return to winning ways in the Europa League with a tense 3-2 win over Hoffenheim. The Lilywhites ended the game with five teenagers on the pitch, an example of their injury struggles. Here is our Tottenham Hotspur predicted lineup for a big game against The Foxes.
Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup Vs Leicester City For January 26
How Tottenham Hotspur Have Lined Up Recently
Antonin Kinsky can’t be registered for the Europa League yet so Brandon Austin started ahead of Fraser Forster in goal. The 26-year-old thought he had given away a penalty in the 64th minute but the referee, with the help of VAR, overturned his decision. Tottenham’s new goalkeeper should return against Leicester despite struggling against Arsenal and Everton.

There was no room for rotation in Tottenham’s backline with five players unavailable for selection. The back three tried against Everton was ditched. Instead, Archie Gray moved to left-back and a centre-back pairing of Ben Davies and Radu Dragusin defended well. The duo made a combined 24 clearances as Hoffenheim piled on the pressure late on. Pedro Porro showed his creativity, assisting James Maddison’s opener.

Rodrigo Bentancur returned from a concussion to give Postecoglou a much-needed enforcer in midfield. Tottenham’s options in the middle of the pitch were so thin that 17-year-old Callum Olusesi debuted off the bench. Lucas Bergvall continued his impressive recent form but did look tired in the closing stages. James Maddison scored his first goal in six matches with a third-minute strike. The England international also added an assist for Heung-min Son’s first goal.

After scoring his first goal since returning from injury against Everton, Richarlison was given an opportunity to start. The 27-year-old failed to keep up with the game and was replaced in the 56th minute. Son’s two goals continued his recent return to form. The Spurs legend will hope to improve his Premier League numbers against Leicester. Dejan Kulusevski looked good on the ball but faded from the game in the second half.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Recent Form and Tactics
A return to the 4-3-3 formation that Postecoglou loves saw Tottenham look like themselves against Hoffenheim. Unfortunately, looking like themselves includes never letting their fans have a moment of peace. Spurs started the second half as a ghost of the team that had been playing so well up to that point. They conceded possession of the ball too easily and gave their opponents six big chances. Two were converted and this meant supporters couldn’t celebrate a much-needed win until the final whistle.

Tottenham are desperately searching for their first Premier League win since a 5-0 win over Southampton in December. This torrid run of form has seen them fall to 15th, just eight points above the relegation zone. What’s been strange is that Spurs’ cup performances during this period have been excellent: they’ve won all four of their non-league matches.
Injuries and Suspensions to Consider
Tottenham’s injury list continues to grow. Dominic Solanke is now set for six weeks on the sidelines with a knee injury. This will give Richarlison a chance for serious minutes when he returns to full fitness following an injury of his own. In better news, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero (both thigh) are nearing returns in the next week or so. Postecoglou will hope to have the pair back before his side travel to Anfield for the second leg of their Carabao Cup Semi-Final.
