Crystal Palace will hope they continue from where they left off last season when the new campaign begins.

Crystal Palace have been quietly going about their business in pre-season, having already played three games behind closed doors against Sutton United, Bournemouth, and Charlton Athletic. Manager Oliver Glasner will take his team to Crawley Town on Saturday for the fourth and final match before they fly out to the United States on Sunday, where they will face more Premier League opposition as they look to build on the gains of last season.

Sources have told LondonWorld that the intensity in the behind-the-scenes games has been good, and players are out there fighting not only for their spots in the squad but also for places in the starting XI. According to one insider who spoke to LondonWorld on condition of anonymity, the technical team has been impressed with the ball-playing ability of new signing Chadi Riad. The Morocco international came through the ranks at Barcelona before impressing at Real Betis last season.

LondonWorld has also been told that the club is open to offers for French forward Odsonne Edouard, who was signed from Celtic in 2021 for £14 million. Last season, he scored only seven goals, and he is one of the players the Eagles are looking to ship out this summer.

Another player with his future up in the air is Ghanaian Jordan Ayew, who still has one year left on his current deal. There have been reports that clubs in Saudi Arabia are looking at him, and the South London outfit will let him go if they were to receive a decent offer.

Former Tottenhamwinger Ryan Sessegnon is also impressing the technical team as he looks to seal a deal with the Eagles. However, no final decision has been made yet, LondonWorld has been assured, as the club wants to ensure his fitness is at the required level before making a decision. Sessegnon has battled injuries for the last two seasons and will have to continue impressing to secure his deal. He’s in line to play again for the Eagles when they travel to Crawley Town on Saturday.

Oliver Glasner is hoping to have some of his internationals join the team next week in the U.S, with Dean Henderson, Adam Wharton, Marc Guehi, Eberechi Eze, Jefferson Lerma, and Daniel Muñoz all still enjoying extended breaks due to their participation in the Euros and Copa America.
