Eintracht Frankfurt receive visit from Premier League manager 24 hours before Tottenham clash

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is convinced that his former side Eintracht Frankfurt have a great chance of overcoming Tottenham Hotspur, naming a couple of the Lilywhites’ weaknesses which the German side can exploit.
No one has to tell Ange Postecoglou and the Tottenham squad just how much is riding on the two-legged tie against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Despite all the doom and gloom that has surrounded the club through much of the season, overcoming the Bundesliga side and progressing to the semifinals of the Europa League will completely change the feeling around N17, making their trophy ambitions a lot more realistic.
However, Tottenham know that they face what is their sternest test of the competition yet, and Spurs fans will not be enthused by Glasner’s predication ahead of the game.
Oliver Glasner claims Frankfurt can get the better of Tottenham
Glasner, who spent two years at Deutsche Bank Park prior to his move to Palace, believes that Tottenham Hotspur do not come into the game as the favourites.
The Austrian coach suggested that Frankfurt should believe they can get the better of Spurs, pointing out that many players in the Tottenham squad are not in peak condition right now, given the stop-start campaigns they have had.
When asked if his former side have a chance of knocking Spurs out of the competition, Glasner told BILD: “If the third-placed team in the Bundesliga plays against the 14th-placed team in the Premier League, why shouldn’t they have a chance? For me, it’s a match on equal terms.

“Tottenham have a really good team, but many players aren’t in top shape because they lack rhythm due to injuries. That can be an advantage. Eintracht shouldn’t understate their worth. They have the quality to win.”
Ironically, Tottenham have been linked with a move for Oliver Glasner if they sack Ange Postecoglou at the end of the season.
Glasner will visit Frankfurt coaches in their team hotel
The Crystal Palace boss – who will visit the Eintracht Frankfurt team in their hotel ahead of the game – also gave an insight into how he expects the game to play out tactically.
He pointed out that Tottenham like to get on the ball and commit bodies forward, thus opening up opportunities for Frankfurt to hurt the Premier League side with their pace on the counter-attack.
The 50-year-old added: “Of course, Tottenham plays with great pressure, with tremendous pace, both in attack and defence. And they want a lot of possession, especially at home.
“But that creates space for counterattacks. Eintracht can exploit that because that’s their strength. Both teams have the quality to create chances. In the end, efficiency will decide.”
On visiting the Frankfurt management team, he added (Express): “I will visit them the day before (the Tottenham game) in their hotel – not the players but of course many of the staff are still working there.
“I am pretty sure Frankfurt are having a fantastic season, they are positioned third in the Bundesliga and also in the quarter-finals of the Europa League. These games are so important for the club and fans – and I know there will be many at the Spurs stadium.
“I really know what a good team Tottenham is and I expect a very good quarter-final with two attacking teams. These are two teams with a lot of pace in their squads – I am looking forward to watching this game but I will watch it on TV.”
