Tottenham Hotspur are keen to add an attacker on transfer deadline day as they continue to battle ongoing injury struggles.

Dominic Solanke, Brennan Johnson and Timo Werner are all out injured currently, and so Ange Postecoglou will want to sign reinforcements with the transfer deadline looming at 11pm.

Spurs won their first league game in eight matches on Sunday as they beat Brentford 2-0 at the Gtech Community Stadium. Postecoglou’s side kept their first clean sheet in the Premier League since their 5-0 win against Southampton in December.

Despite the result, they don’t have long to prepare for their next game which comes against Liverpool on Thursday in a Carabao Cup semi-final second leg. Postecoglou’s side are 1-0 up on aggregate. The Spurs boss will hope to have at least one more player through the door before then.

Tottenham and Liverpool target “not leaving” Lyon this month

Tottenham have been linked to Lyon attacker Rayan Cherki, who has impressed in Ligue 1 this season. The 21-year-old has scored five goals and contributed nine assists for the French side this year. Last week Caught Offside reported that Spurs, along with Manchester United and Liverpool were ‘monitoring’ the player’s situation at Lyon.

However, it looks as though they won’t be able to make a late move for him in the winter transfer window, as Lyon President John Textor has denied that he will leave, despite recent interest from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on X: “Olympique Lyon president John Textor: ‘Rayan Cherki to Borussia Dortmund? No chance’. ‘He’s NOT leaving.’”

Cherki is valued at around £25m, and has already made three appearances for the France national team. He can play both as a winger and an attacking midfielder, versatility that Spurs could do with in attacking areas. He was linked with a move to Fulham in the summer transfer window. Given that Textor has denied a move to Dortmund, it looks almost impossible that any three of the Premier League sides will be able to land the 21-year-old.

Spurs turn attention to £31m Aston Villa attacker

As it looks like Tottenham won’t be able to make a late move for Cherki, they have reportedly identified Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey as a potential alternative. According to new reports, Spurs have asked Villa about Bailey’s availability. The Jamaica international has made 20 Premier League appearances for Unai Emery’s side this season, scoring one goal and two assists.

Villa may be less reluctant to sell Bailey now following their completed deal to land Marcus Rashford from Manchester United on a loan deal with a £40m option to buy in the summer.

Rashford was confirmed as a Villa player on Sunday, and will now look to re-ignite his career after falling out of favour with Ruben Amorim at Manchester United this season. With Rashford joining at Villa Park, Bailey will face more competition for a starting XI spot, meaning he could be more keen on moving to Spurs in order to get regular first-team football.

Millwall have been touted to make a Deadline Day swoop for Tottenham Hotspur talent Tyrese Hall today as the club looks to reinvest the money made on Romain Esse.

The 19-year-old completed the switch to Selhurst Park earlier this month, and scored on his debut against Brentford in a 2-1 defeat, with the Lions charging the Premier League club £14.5 million. Speaking after the win over Championship rivals QPR on Saturday, Millwall boss Alex Neil admitted that the plan was always to invest this month following Esse's departure.

Neil told reporters at his post-match press conference: “This was always the plan. People are acting like they are surprised. Everybody I talk to seems to say ‘what is going on’.

“The plan when I came in was that if someone was going to come in and buy Romain then we were going to try and invest in some younger players, try to develop the style and try to make us more threatening and try to score more goals – as well as trying to bring some young lads in and try to create some assets.

“The plan was always there. It’s just at the moment that the plan is working really quite well. I’m not daft, I know in two weeks it might not be working quite so well because that is the nature of football and this league.

“We are going to certainly enjoy it when we’re doing what we’re doing. The lads deserve huge amounts of credit, as does the club for wanting to invest and improve the squad. I would think being a Millwall fan right now is quite exciting.”

Millwall linked with rising Tottenham Hotspur star

Those comments came after the club signed Sparta Rotterdam winger Camiel Neghli for a reported record-breaking £2.8 million. It seems as if Neghli may not be the only addition made before the end of the window.

Today, Sky Sports are reporting of Millwall interest in Tottenham Hotspur 19-year-old Tyrese Hall. The Lions are said to have 'held talks' with Spurs over a potential move for the player, which could either be as a loan or a permanent transfer - although The Mirror reporter Dan Marsh has put some questions over those links since they broke.

The teenager signed a new contract in North London last summer, set to stay until 2029, but has found a first team breakthrough hard to force this term despite the club's well-documented injury woes. Hall has been given huge praise by Spurs and West Ham legend Jermaine Defoe in recent weeks.

Jermaine Defoe labels Millwall target an ‘unbelievable footballer’

The former striker has worked with the player at under-18 level and has tipped him for a bright future. In an interview with Sky Sports, Defoe was asked to pick young players football fans should be watching, and said: "The first one is a player that I coached at Tottenham for two years in the academy. I'd go as far as saying he's probably one of the best players at his age that I have seen in the country.

"I remember we played a game last year, I think it was against Chelsea, and his performance was unbelievable. It was a standout performance, probably his best of the season in a big game. I think we ended up winning 3-2 after being 2-0 down. It was a masterclass, and the player's name is Tyrese Hall.

"He's someone who I believe is a Premier League footballer. I know it's a big statement but when I first saw him I thought, 'you know what, I believe, god-willing, that he is someone that go on and play at the top, top level.'

"(He is) an unbelievable footballer, with so much potential. He reminds me a little bit, technically, and how he is so silky, again another big statement, of that Luka Modric sort of vibe and Joe Cole. A phenomenal talent."

Tottenham Hotspur are scrambling to bring a centre-back into the club on Deadline Day as the hours count down until the close of the January transfer window.

Ange Postecoglou has been short of options at the back this season due to injuries. Micky Van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie and Ben Davies have all missed large chunks of the campaign with Radu Dragusin now set to be sidelined.

Rather than persist with fielding 18-year-old midfielder Archie Gray at the heart of defence, Spurs are determined to sign a centre-back today to help with the rest of the season. However, that deal is proving hard to do with clubs aware of the club's situation.

Tottenham Hotspur drop Chelsea pursuit

It has emerged this morning that Tottenham Hotspur had submitted a bid to Chelsea for Axel Disasi but that their London rivals had rejected that offer. Sky Sports now claim that the rejection has caused Spurs to end their interest in the player.

Disasi arrived at Stamford Bridge from Monaco for £38.5 million in 2023 but has become a squad player under Enzo Maresca this season. His arrival at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium would have been a coup, with the French international experienced in the Premier League and in European football.

After a huge performance against Manchester City last year, Jamie Carragher heaped praise on Disasi. He said: "I can't remember a better defensive performance this season from a central defender. You're coming away to Manchester City and playing against the best striker in the world. He was brilliant, man of the match, definitely the best player on the pitch.

"That was the type of performance you'd see from defenders 15 or 20 years ago, it was a throwback with backs against the wall and throwing himself against everything. Talking about Chelsea, that was a John Terry type performance and I can't five any more praise than that."

Tottenham Hotspur are also looking at a move for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, who has been readily linked with a transfer to Newcastle United and Manchester Untied in recent windows. Last summer, it was claimed that the South London club had a £65 million asking price for Guehi but weren't tempted by a £60 million bid received from the Magpies.

Crystal Palace reject Spurs bid

Transfer specialist David Ornstein this morning took to social media platform X and wrote: "Crystal Palace reject major bid from Tottenham Hotspur to sign Marc Guehi permanently. #THFC + other clubs expected to try again for 24yo England international in summer, when centre-back will have 12mnths left on #CPFC terms."

Crystal Palace are believed to have no intention of selling the England international, even with his contract ticking down, in another blow to Postecoglou and Tottenham Hotspur. Lens defender Kevin Danso now appears the most likely option for the club.

The 26-year-old was due to undergo a medical at Wolves on Sunday but the Austria international pulled out last minute, opening the door for a potential Spurs swoop. It is believed a £21 million fee has been agreed with Lens.

In other news, Chelsea are 'ready' to bid £58 million for a player as the star's agent 'tries to force' a transfer.

Tottenham Hotspur head into Thursday’s Carabao Cup clash against Liverpool with some momentum behind them after beating Brentford 2-0 in West London on Sunday afternoon.

After losing to Leicester City at home in their previous Premier League outing, Spurs picked up a vital three points at the Bees as a Vitaly Janelt own goal put them ahead before Pape Matar Sarr sealed the win with a second goal on 87 minutes.

Spurs hold a 1-0 lead over Liverpool after winning the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final in January. Lucas Bergvall scored the only goal with 86 minutes on the clock. The winner of the semi-final will face either Newcastle United or Arsenal in the final, with the Magpies 2-0 up from their first leg.

Ange on Brentford win

Ange Postecoglou said after his side’s win at Brentford: “Coming here isn’t easy, they score a lot of goals at home and the way they play, they invariably get a lot of balls into the box, throw-ins, crosses, set-pieces, which you have to deal with. Again, playing on Thursday night, virtually the same team, we had to dig in, and I thought the boys did that outstandingly well. For the most part, we didn’t allow them anything clear cut, any chances they had were under pressure, and we allowed the quality of our football to hurt them going the other way.”

He continued: “Look, we know the situation we’re in. It’s not a great situation in the league and we have to turn that around. We’ve been through a tough time, for sure. Slowly, but surely, we’re getting players back. We had Djed back today and it made an enormous difference, We’ve one new face through the door, players coming back from injury over the next two weeks, that will give everyone a lift and we need to sustain this form in the league now, get out of the situation we’re in and then tackle the other big tasks ahead of us.”

Liverpool injury worry

Liverpool continued their charge towards the Premier League title with a 2-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon. Mohamed Salah scored in each half as the Reds maintained a six-point lead over Arsenal, who responded with a 5-1 victory over Manchester City on Sunday.

Right-back Trent Alexander Arnold was forced off against the Cherries on Saturday and manager Arne Slot does not expect him to be available against Spurs, as further diagnosis is awaited. He said: "The situation was that he said to me, 'You have to take me off' and he sat on the floor and we took him off. He felt something, I can't tell you exactly what and how bad it is of course because we are one hour after the game, but it is never a good sign if a player is asking for a substitution. This is not a fact but I would be surprised if he plays on Thursday, but let's hope he is back with us as soon as possible."

Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace could look to snap up two Chelsea first team defenders ahead of Deadline Day with the Blues open to selling to their Premier League rivals.

Axel Disasi is a target for Spurs with Ange Postecoglou still dealing with a squad blighted by injury. Micky Van de Ven and Cristian Romero have missed large parts of the season, often leaving 18-year-old midfielder Archie Gray having to fill in at the heart of defence.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano provided an update on Disasi's future, with the player also linked with a move to Aston Villa. Taking to social media platform X over the weekend, Romano wrote: "Axel Disasi has been approached by Tottenham as they’re insisting for new centre back. Disasi already agreed personal terms with Aston Villa and he’s now expected to make a decision soon. Up to the player."

Chelsea defender to choose between Tottenham and Aston Villa

Having been rejected this week by Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel, Tottenham Hotspur will hope not to see another target failed to be tempted by the project in North London. Disasi, who was snapped up from Monaco for £37 million in 2023, would arrive with plenty of Premier League experience, having played 37 times in the top flight.

Blues manager Enzo Maresca was asked if Disasi, alongside Tosin Adarabioyo, could leave this month and said: “At the moment they are both us. The intention is not to allow them to go, but we are in January and anything can happen.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea full-back Ben Chilwell could make the short move across the Thames and to Crystal Palace with Oliver Glasner's side having approached their top flight rivals over a potential loan deal. Romano wrote: "Crystal Palace have approached Chelsea for Ben Chilwell loan deal, talks ongoing. Discussions started also on player side, as @TheSecretScout_ reports. Deal on."

Chillwell has struggled for opportunities under Maresca and has played just once this season, afforded 45 minutes in the Carabao Cup against Barrow. His exit from Stamford Bridge would not come as a surprise with the Blues boss confirming the defender is free to leave.

It was thought that Chilwell, who was signed from Leicester City for £50 million in 2020, could be given minutes in the FA Cup third round match against Morecambe but Maresca was not tempted by that act of goodwill. He said: "I didn't discuss with Ben about that. I don't need to discuss with him, just as I don't need to discuss with Cesare. Probably for them it's better to act like the way we want to act tomorrow for them.

Enzo Maresca on Ben Chillwell future

“I think Ben wants to play since we start, not only tomorrow,” Maresca added. [But] we started six months ago and unfortunately for my decision, he didn't get minutes. Now, to give him a chance in the last game [before] probably he can leave, I think it's useless."

Providing an update on the Crystal Palace January transfer window this week, Oliver Glasner said: “We planned two signings. We have one, with Romain Esse, and we are still working on the second one. Monday the window closes, and I am pretty confident that we will get this deal done.

“It started this week that we said we have to look [in defence] because in the centre we have five positions and we have just three [players] at the moment. We said we will look for a centre-back. But we will just do something that makes sense for us.

"It’s not that we need it immediately, because Adam [Wharton] coming back means Jeff Lerma can play with Nathaniel Clyne, who did excellently at the end of last season. We have several options in the team. But we are looking. If there is a good opportunity, we will try to do it. If not, we trust in all our players like we always do. Let’s say ideally two signings, but at least one.”

In other news, Arsenal and West Ham are set to be beaten to the signing of a Premier League marksman by rival Aston Villa.

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly hijacked Wolves move for centre-back Kevin Danso with a medical booked at the North London club for Sunday.

Spurs have been in search of reinforcements this month after a host of injury problems has contributed to a poor run of form. Ange Postecoglou’s side face Brentford in the Premier League on Sunday with a move for Danso set to be completed ahead of games with Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Spurs head to Anfield on Thursday for the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final, with the North London side holding a 1-0 advantage from the first leg. They follow that game with a trip to Villa Park in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

According to Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Spurs have a £21m agreement in place for Danso. He said on X: “Kevin Danso to Tottenham, here we go! Agreement in place for the Austrian centre back. €25m package, deal until June 2030 and medical booked on Sunday… after Wolves had verbal agreement in place and also medical ready. Hijack completed.”

Who is Kevin Danso?

Danso is a 26-year-old defender who plays for Ligue 1 club RC Lens. He is a 24-time Austrian international after progressing through every age group with his national side. He started his career with Bundesliga side FC Augsburg after joining the German outfit from the Milton Keynes Dons youth academy.

He made his professional debut for Augsburg at the age of 18 back in March 2017. He spent a loan spell with Southampton during the 2019-20 season before leaving Germany for Lens in 2021. He has since played 128 times for the French side, scoring four goals. Spurs have agreed a deal for Danso after a frustrating week on the transfer front. A deal had been agreed with Bayern Munich for striker Mathys Tel but the player opted against a move while Sky Italy claimed Fikayo Tomori also rejected a switch to north London after advanced talks over a move were held.

Spurs ‘still attractive’

Ahead of Sunday’s Premier League meeting with Brentford, Postecoglou insisted Tottenham was still an attractive destination for players. He said: "It depends what the players are looking for. You can look at it two ways. OK the league form is not great but there's some pretty big possibilities to have success here in the last three or four months [of the season]. It's still a big club, it's still a club that can challenge for honours and it's whether the player sees the potential that we see right now, or certainly that I see. If it's too much of a hard sell, it's probably not the right one for us."

He added: "There is definitely a need for us [to make signings] and has been a need. That's why we've been looking for a player or two to help us with what's ahead, but they have to be the right types and fit in with what we're doing. I guess that's the tricky bit. There are plenty of players available but are they going to be the right ones? That's the question for us."

Tottenham Hotspur have just days to prepare for a return to Premier League action but Ange Postecoglou will be delighted to only be making a short trip across London this weekend to take on Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Spurs are without a league win since the 5-0 triumph over Southampton in the middle of December. That victory is the only time that Postecoglou's side have picked up three points in the league over their last 11 outings amid a disappointing run of form.

The North London outfit now sit 15th in the league table, four places and seven points below the Bees. Brentford picked up only a second away win of the season against Crystal Palace last time out with a 2-1 victory at Selhurst Park.

Transfer speculation to loom large over Brentford v Tottenham Hotspur

Transfer speculation surrounds both sides ahead of the meeting on Sunday. Tottenham Hotspur are said to be edging closer to the signing of Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich, although Manchester United could be lurking in wait for a potential hijack.

Meanwhile, the hosts could fear losing Yoane Wissa with Nottingham Forest linked, alongside Spurs themselves. The striker seemed to hint at a potential exit when speaking on French TV this week.

All eyes will be focused on the action on the pitch this weekend and the Premier League has confirmed who will be overseeing the fixture at the Gtech Community Stadium. Australian official Jarred Gillett will referee the match.

Gillett's last refereeing duty was a match with six goals in the Championship meeting between West Brom and Portsmouth last weekend. Before that, he referees Aston Villa's 2-1 win over Leicester City this month.

Gillett was last in charge of a Tottenham Hotspur match for the North London derby against Arsenal in September, which finished 1-0 to the Gunners. His last Brentford match was the Bees' 5-1 win over Luton Town last April. Gillett has refereed 10 games this season, showing 44 yellow cards and one red.

Elsewhere on the officials, Darren Cann and Mark Scholes are the assistant referees. John Busby is the Fourth Official and Graham Scott is in charge of VAR.

Thomas Frank aware of Spurs injury woes

Speaking ahead of the clash with Tottenham Hotspur, Brentford manager Thomas Frank said: We were also hit very hard by injuries last year so, from that perspective, I understand the situation Ange is in now at Tottenham. When results are also not going your way, that's tough. They're things we need to deal with as managers and I'm convinced that Ange is doing that well and he will get through it.

"He doesn't need advice, but he just needs to trust his own processes and trust what he believes in, which he does - that's the main thing.

"When we played Tottenham away earlier this season, we played a very, very good Tottenham team - I thought they were flying. When they hit their high level, they are very hard to play against. I expect a game between two games that want to attack, so it could be open at times. We need to be the team that controls an open game, which is difficult."

In other news, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal were landed a transfer blow by QPR this week as the Championship club agreed a new deal with a rising academy star.

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has flown to Germany to push through a transfer for Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel ahead of Deadline Day amid fear that Manchester United could hijack the deal.

It had been reported that Spurs saw a £50 million bid accepted by the German giants for the 19-year-old with a transfer on the verge of confirmation. However, there are now questions over that deal with Manchester United also in the race for a loan move.

Providing the latest update on the saga, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano took to social media platform X and wrote: "Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has arrived in Munich today in order to accelerate talks for Mathys Tel.

"Agreement already done with Bayern, face to face talks now with Tel and his agent. Spurs trying to push as they’re aware of competition from Premier League clubs."

Man Utd look to hijack Spurs transfer

Spurs agreed a fee for a permanent deal with Bayern Munich but The Mirror is now reporting that Tel is favouring a loan move this window, which could hand the Red Devils the advantage. The outlet adds that Ruben Amorim's side have opened talks with both Bayern and the player's representatives in a bid to storm in on the Tottenham Hotspur agreement.

Tottenham Hotspur sporting director Johan Lange had already travelled to Germany to hold direct talks with Bayern Munich on Wednesday and will now be joined by Levy as the race hots up.

Earlier this month, Chelsea had made an approach to sign Tel but it's believed that the 19-year-old is reluctant to move to Stamford Bridge due to the competition for starting berths in the Blues attack. Christopher Nkunku, Noni Madueke, Pedro Neto, Mykhailo Mudryk and Jadon Sancho are all currently in and out of the side.

ManchesterWorld carried reports on Wednesday that the player 'wants' to join Ruben Amorim's side. He is seeking assurances over playing time before committing his future.

Arsenal, who are currently without the injured Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka, had also been linked with Tel but the Gunners are now putting all their efforts and funds into the pursuit of a £60 million transfer for Aston Villa talisman Ollie Watkins.

Tel arrived at Bayern Munich from Rennes for £24.4 million in July 2022 but has started just three games for the side this season. Speaking on Wednesday, Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl explained Tel's desire to leave the club.

He said: "Mathys decided at the time [in December] that he wanted to stay, that he wanted to assert himself. Now Mathys comes along and says that he can imagine doing something. And now we have to think about what we are going to do, whether we are going to do it. The playing time is not satisfactory for him, and that is understandable.

"It is now the end of January. And now it is more difficult for everyone involved. We have to see what is ultimately best for everyone involved, for Mathys and for Bayern Munich."

When quizzed on the possibility of the player leaving on a permanent transfer, Eberl said: "We will assess all the options. It was very rare that so many clubs called."

Ange Postecoglou urges Tottenham Hotspur to transfer action

Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou had urged the club to complete signings before Deadline Day to help reverse recent results. When asked if there was money to spend, Postecoglou replied: "I don't ask those questions. It's not something I'm involved in, it's not something I have exposure to.

"My discussions with Johan and the club have been about trying to get some help for the players and I'll let them do their jobs. I've still got to manage this team and get them ready. We got back at 2 am last night. I'm not out there trying to find opportunities for the club, that's not my role at this time. There isn't time to do it.

"I have daily communication with Johan in particular and he's trying everything he possibly can to get the help we need.

"I don't think I'm stating anything other than the obvious and for me to come here and say something else would be disingenuous. This playing group needs help, there's no doubt about that. We're sort of playing with fire by not bringing anyone in, but the flip side of that is the club is trying to change that situation."

In other news, a Chelsea midfielder has agreed a deal with a Championship club amid interest from QPR, Sunderland and West Brom.

Tottenham are in need of reinforcements, as they sit 15th in the Premier League table under manager Ange Postecoglou, who is under considerable pressure amid the club’s recent form.

They lost 2-1 to Leicester City in their last league game, in which, Spurs threw away a 1-0 lead early on in the second half, to lose to a side that had not won a game in eight matches. Postecoglou will be keen to add to his squad in the final week of transfer deadline day, with the Monday 11pm deadline looming on the Spurs boss.

Tottenham add £60 million defender

Goalkeeper: Antonin Kinsky

Defenders: Pedro Porro, Micky Van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Piero Hincapie

Tottenham have seen several top defensive players get injured this season, but things are beginning to look more positive. Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario remains out but is back training, so new signing Kinsky will keep the spot in goal for now.

Pedro Porro will stay at right-back as a player that Tottenham will try hard to keep hold of in the summer transfer window, which could be difficult. Van de Ven and Romero have both been injured, but they look set to return this week for Spurs.

Tottenham are in need of defensive reinforcements, and if the transfer rumours are true, they could sign Bayer Leverkusen star Piero Hincapie, who can play both at centre-back and a left back.

The 23-year-old has been linked to Tottenham this month, alongside rivals Chelsea. Reports have said that the German club are likely to ask for around £60m for the defender, who has made 28 appearances for Xavi Alonso’s side this season.

He could provide Spurs with a young, versatile defender, who can be a part of Postecoglou’s starting XI for seasons to come. He would also help with their much-needed depth at the back.

Premier League starlet Tyler Dibling moves to North London

Midfielders: Rodrigo Bentancur, Dejan Kulusevski, Tyler Dibling

Bentancur keeps his place in central midfield, as he remains a key part of Spurs’ starting XI. However, now that Yves Bissouma is back from injury, the two could be competing for a spot in Postecoglou’s team.

Kulusevski moves back to midfield in order to accommodate a pair of signings in attack, but the Swedish international is a must-start for Spurs. He has scored six goals and four assists in the Premier League this season.

Tottenham have been linked with Southampton midfielder Tyler Dibling who has impressed in what has been a poor season for the Saints. The 18-year-old is being monitored by several clubs including Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

Dibling has made 24 appearances this season, scoring four goals and two assists. He has played as both a central midfielder, an attacking midfielder and a winger for the Saints this season. A versatile option for Postecoglou at Spurs.

Tottenham land £40m Chelsea and Arsenal target

Attackers: Heung-Min Son, Brian Brobbey, Mathys Tel

Firstly, talisman Son has still been excellent for Tottenham this season even though they sit 15th in the Premier League table. He has scored 10 goals and contributed six assists in 28 appearances. He will continue to be a key player for Postecoglou.

Tottenham and West Ham have been heavily linked to signing Ajax striker Brian Brobbey, who looks set to leave the Dutch side in the final week of the January transfer window.

The Hammers have reportedly agreed personal terms for Brobbey, but don’t want to land the striker on a permanent deal which is how Ajax want him to leave. Spurs could swoop in with an offer in the region of £25m-£30m which could be enough for the Eredivisie side to sell.

Brobbey is a target man centre-forward, the 22-year-old would provide Postecoglou with a replacement for the injured Dominic Solanke up top for Spurs. He reportedly wants to join Tottenham over rivals West Ham.

Furthermore, Tottenham have also been linked to Chelsea and Arsenal target Mathys Tel, who looks set to leave Bayern Munich in the remaining week of the January transfer window.

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham are keen on the attacker, who reportedly wants to leave Bayern, due to his lack of consistent game time. The Frenchman has to compete with Harry Kane for minutes, and so could join a Premier League side this month.

The German club would reportedly want more than £40m for his signature, a fee that Tottenham can afford should they decide to pursue the 19-year-old, who could provide Spurs with a top attacking talent on a long-term deal.

Tottenham will now look ahead to Sunday’s Premier League clash with Brentford after their Europa League action on Thursday night. Plenty of attention will also be on Monday night’s transfer deadline, with Spurs in need of new recruits.

Ange Postecoglou needs a new attacker as a minimum, but the search is not proving to be an easy one. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Spurs.

Tel race latest

Tottenham are said to hold serious interest in signing Bayern Munich wideman Mathys Tel, who is reportedly attracting interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and four other clubs ahead of the deadline. Sky Sports reporter Karveh Solhekol has provided the latest, saying: “Spurs are interested in him as well, RB Leipzig in Germany.

“This evening we have been contacted by some people involved in some of the deals around Tel and they’re saying to us, look don’t get too carried away, we’re aware of all these reports that he has decided to leave Bayern Munich, but we haven’t been told that as concrete information yet, so we’re waiting to hear from the player himself.” Tel has a reported asking price of more than £40million.

Walker-Peters link

Tottenham are said to be interesting in re-signing Southampton full-back Kyle Walker-Peters. According to The Boot Room, Walker-Peters has rejected the chance to join Galatasaray despite the Turkish club meeting Southampton’s £8million asking price.

It’s claimed Spurs could now move to strike a bargain deal to add depth at full-back, and the player is likely to be interested in returning five years after his departure. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace are also said to be interested in a deal, which is no surprise given the reported asking price for a player who is still only 27 years of age.

Neville on possible Ange sack

Gary Neville has predicted when Postecoglou might get the sack at Tottenham as the Australian continues to battle for his job amid a rotten run of form.

Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, Neville said: "If he loses the second leg of the Carabao Cup to Liverpool and he goes out of the FA Cup, I think that it will become so toxic that Daniel Ley will act. If they’re out of the cup competitions, I think he will act."
